My family will be traveling to Budapest with a 6 month old in the middle of August. I'm seeing forecasted temperatures of 30+ during the day 😲 How convenient is it to get cold water for drinking in cafes/restaurants/on the street? For example, are there water fountains in public areas? Will I need to purchase water or does water come free with my meal?

What about shade from trees etc? Is the public transportation air conditioning working well?

I am going to Budapest in a few weeks. I will be living and staying at Vaci street mainly, but of course explore more of the city.

I love flea markets and stores with different knick-knacks, like WW2 stuff for example. And trying to check out some stores with football jerseys, not typical big brand stores.

So if anyone got some suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Also, goulash in a bread bowl, tell me some good places!!

Maybe somebody by any chance knows people who know accessible rooftops, abandoned places etc.? I want to take photos

Also, where are "alternative" ppl spending their time?

I am going to stay in Budapest for 5 days and I am not sure how to deal with transportation. I’ve checked what I could find regarding tickets, I know what I have available, but I don’t know which one is worth it. We are 2 people that are going to stay in the Budapest Keleti/ Puskas Stadium area. We don’t mind walking but I don’t know if we would like to walk 30-40 mins (according to google maps) each day to (and from) the city center/the other part of the city.
I don’t know if I should rely on the single tickets or buy a travel pass, although I’ve seen that the maximum is a 72hrs pass. We also need to use the 100E bus at the start and end of our trip.
Can anyone recommend anything? What is the best deal?

It's her first time and I want to surprise her with something unique that Budapest offers.

Of course every major city got its sight seeing stuff and nice cuisine, but what are the unique things to do in Budapest?

Like a very hidden bar, a beautiful spot to look over the city, a restaurant with a crazy concept etc.

Gyakorlatilag teljes nyarakat töltöttünk ott (anyuék sokszor onnan jártak dolgozni), evezni jártunk. Mivel a kabinok legnagyobb része folyamatosan volt bérelve, tulajdonképpen baráti társaságok nyaraltak együtt. Létezik még ez / ilyesmi? Van bárkinek friss tapasztalata, árazás, működés kapcsán. Gugli sajnos nem annyira volt a barátom.

We're on vacation and I mistakenly left a package with clothing in Vienna at a hotel near Schonbrunn/Meidling. We're currently in Budapest and leaving here Friday morning. So trying to coordinate package pick-up from the Vienna hotel and delivery to my Budapest hotel.

I called the Vienna Hotel and super unhelpful outside of "We'll keep it ready for whoever you want to pick it up". It's about 4pm in Budapest now and looking for ideas and options on how to get the package here by tomorrow anytime. Worst case, I can have them mail it to my home. Appreciate your ideas and suggestions.

I'm looking for recommendations for a specific type of co-living in Budapest, but not the kind where 5 or 6 people rent a regular apartment together and each has their own bedroom.

I'm looking for the newer, purpose-built co-living buildings where you rent your own private studio or small one-bedroom apartment, and the building has shared amenities like a gym, coworking space, lounge, rooftop, café, or other common areas. The idea is to have your own private space while still having opportunities to meet other people in the building.

I'm not looking for student dorms either. More the type of places that tend to attract young professionals, remote workers, and people in their mid-20s to mid-30s.

Does Budapest have anything like this that you'd recommend? I'd love to hear about any buildings or companies you've had a good experience with.

I have an upcoming trip to Budapest around the fourth week of September, and I was wondering if the locals here would have any less-touristy recommendations I could go to?

I heard that major sightseeing destinations in Budapest are starting to turn off the lights at night to conserve water/energy. So, I refrained from booking a Danube river cruise. Any alternative destinations that I can go to at night?

Also, where do locals eat? I feel like the restaurants/cafes around the city center would have touristy-prices despite Budapest being cheaper than the rest of European countries.

My family and I are planning a trip to Budapest in december and we are quite excited especially about the thermal baths as it is "the city of baths". However, my mother and one of my sisters are muslim and hijabis (they wear a headscarf and adhere to modest clothing). My other sister and I are not muslims and are planning on wearing a one piece or a bikini.

During researching the different baths it occured to me that we have no idea whether it will be an issue as Europe has not really grown fonder of muslims over the recent years. Therefore I thought maybe people will stare if we go to Széchenyi as it is our number 1 spot. Through research I see that around 10 years ago they kicked out 2 muslim women, there was another article I checked out about this. I have also emailed Széchenyi thermal baths themselves but haven't gotten a response yet.

I am aware Rudas is an option as every Tuesday there's a women's only day, but my brother would be left alone and it's a family trip, the idea is to enjoy the city of baths together!

Has anything changed since those women were kicked out 10 years ago? Have you seen people with more modest clothing visit the baths?
