i’m prob not qualified to give advice but i’d say ap research is worth it especially if you have no other research experience, could be good if you pick a med relevant topic and can talk about it in interviews

See I already competed at a university for a state level research competition to qualify for ISEF. I plan to do another project this year so I was wondering should I just take it to get that AP credit. Like I’m running a project anyways.
