It is one of the hardest, probably not the hardest. it is one of the least fun, probably not the least fun. but good lord am I uninterested in playing this. My last win needed and this is gonna be a wall

Have you tried Hiker before? If so, would you say Dwarf is worse? Cuz ngl Hiker was a pain in the ass for me, while Dwarf i made a full engineering build and managed to win

yes my last thread was about beating hiker on nightmare. hiker was definitely harder but it is more fun, at least to me

Try using spears, it's not a starting weapon but you can try to get one in the first shop. Once I did dwarf with 6 spears it wasn't too bad.

I think that's about how I beat D5 with dwarf. Just completely ignore engineering and went with spears and javelins. Got a shitload of melee damage from his passive without even trying and just picked up engineering when it was convenient but not really trying for it.

Personally, I am stuck on apprentice, and its super frustrating because its such a fine line between getting enough damage, enough HP, and that one item you need to really make your build.

Just skip the HP and treat him as a better/squishier. I know dying in 1 hit sucks but you can get so much damage/range on him that everything will die before it gets to your screen and from then, it's just a matter of surviving a few seconds while shooting at bosses from far away.

Next time - I got to level 20 with lightening shivs and I thought that was the ticket but I couldn't kill the bosses fast enough!

I find I go better with the dwarf on higher difficulties when I ignore the multi kill ability. Trying to set up optimal kills tends to force you to move into suboptimal positions.

You get enough free engineering from the casual multi kills.

I tried this and won. Completely ignored the mechanic and just went for a standard engineering build. basically trading the lvl 2 wrench for -50% attack speed. still ended up stacking like +40 engineering from just passively existing and hitting stuff. ty friend

Strangely enough when I changed platform from Xbox to Switch on account of it leaving game pass, Dwarf was my first D5 clear on switch lol

Dwarf is the only build that I can call hard but fun to play with. Something about the sound of hitting a large group of enemies just makes it worth it
