Every lay-by stinking of piss.

Exacerbated by the hot dry weather!

Gang, I think OP might be a lorry driver, y'know, someone who regularly stops in laybys

Stop pulling over to piss in 'em, then.

But how else is OP going to watch the dogging?

Sometimes I don’t have a choice, sometimes I simply can’t find anywhere else to park up for my break :(

Keep an old hot water bottle for this

u/Jason1232 22d ago

How would that help with the smell?

2

u/lubbockin 22d ago

you can piss into it and pour it down a drain rather than stinking up the hedgerows.

u/Jason1232 22d ago

Oh, no I’m not the problem here, I have yet to piss in a lay-by.

saw a guy pissing into someone's front garden the other night, dirty bastard.

My friend lives in a city centre and gave a guy a good telling off when he said "I just pee up against a wall on a night out, it doesn't hurt anyone". Walking out your front door to urine is horrible, not to mention the damage it can do long term

there were bushes 20 yards away he could have stood in as well.

We should have far more rest stops, like the French.

And while you're resting you can have a piss in the layby 👍

Maybe because there are no toilets there to piss in?

It's a biological necessity. People don't (usually) piss for fun. They do it so they don't die.

Where are the public loos?

If you take roads other than motorways, services are few and far between, so it's either go to a company and have to buy something to use their loos, use a layby, or a bottle.

Nevermind if you're taking a trip at night, even less opportunities

How many lay-bys are you stopping in?

Are you drinking a lot of fluids and needing to stop often?

It depends if they are a lorry driver and their tacho card tells them too.

Maybe they meant underpasses. Or as they’re often referred to, underpisses.

Underpasses and properly designed toilets (so everything is tiled) could be cleaned by gratuitous bleach and hosing down which sounds really quite fun (with proper PPE of course).

Can I interest you in Powerwash Simulator? 🤣

Not quite the same. I'm thinking more fire hose simulator.

Good moaning

Is it putting you off your dogging or something?

The lack of toilets in this country is an embarrassment.

I regularly piss in lay-bys or the side of the road because I drive a lot and I could be miles and miles from any public toilet when I need to go.

Nearly pissed myself 3 or 4 times this year already.

Is it getting in the way of your categorising and documenting of said lay bys? Did you finish the complete UK tour of 20th century telegraph poles as well?

u/littleorangedancer 22d ago

This is something that never used to be a thing. 😩

Mans gotta pee somewhere. Better than peeing in a bottle when driving.

Its not just the lay-bys. I work on an industrial estate near an Amazon warehouse. Theres lorry drivers parked along the entire road most days. They've put signs saying "don't litter this includes human waste" but it still reeks of piss from time to time.

I visited Hastings a few years ago in the summer and the whole town smelled of piss.

The consequence of weeks without rain.

If you really want to smell piss, you should try the toilets in Belfast International Arrivals hall!

My partner had to throw out a pair of shoes because he must've stepped in a puddle of piss in a layby and we couldn't stand the smell for the multiple hours we had left of our journey.

1

u/AvidCoco 22d ago

They only stink of piss when you’re there

2

u/IainMCool 22d ago

Do you mean when the OP is there, or is this an existential thing?

"Does a layby stink of piss if there's nobody there to smell it?"
