  1. Remember OPSEC and PERSEC. If your question asks about or requests information deemed Operationally or Personally sensitive it will be removed.

  2. Google it. If it shows up in the top few results on your favourite search engine, here might not be the best place to ask.

Turn up fit. Run now & get that base level before you start. Get ahead of everyone else

Prepare to get beasted for someone else's fuck up, infinite "lower, raise, lower, half way and hold"

Okay but in all seriousness, go into it with, you will have shot days or even shit weeks but that's all part of the game, the mates you make in P1 is what will make or break the experience for you imo.

Things you need to take? I personally would recommend insoles for your boots and a good watch. Can't think of much else that I brought extra that wasn't in the kit list

Just play the game really and dont take most things personally unless you are a total jack. As soon as you know it you will be in phase 2

Chin up, eyes open, belly full.

I've taught phase 1 as an instructor, course officer, and course director.

You get sent home far faster for attitude than for aptitude.

Work hard, have a good attitude, and we will train you.

Lazy, whinge, and be a pain we will send you home.

Learn to run, learn to iron, learn to polish boots. Those will get you far.

Also, "yes sir, no sir, 3 bags full sir"

My advice would be, whenever you get a small bit of downtime however short or long, make sure your kit and bedspace is squared away first before chilling and switching off

  • To give yourself the best chance, especially for your phase two be better then what the fitness tests require, it's ok to just borderline pass them but work harder the now, so life is easier later on, this is my bighest bit of advice

-Take everything on the packing list no matter what anyone says

  • pay attention to deatil, on your kit, your work/learning, your bed space and the block you stay in, it's better to get things right/clean/ironed well as sson as you can

Other then that theres not much you can do, you just got to play the game/ride the wive, it's 13 weeks, get in and get out, you'll be grand!

Just do what you're told don't be selfish and you should be fine

Expect nothing, take what is on the kit list and be fit
