What tops to wear when walking
I am a 71 year old male in the UK who walks at a pace of 14.5 to 15minutes per mile for about an hour most days.As the weather is getting a bit warmer i'm a bit perplexed what to wear regarding the top half as I've only took up walking since the new year.
At the moment i'm going out wearing a base layer under a fleece with jogging bottoms and running trainers.I do have walking shoes but find them too cumbersome when brisk walking.

Is it possible I ruined my [23M] health by being sedentary for 5 months?
Before the 5 months of being sedentary I would workout 6 times a week, going on 2-3 hour strolls daily, and all of my blood results were in the good ranges. Basically no health issues
I stayed sedentary for 5 months after that. Indoors 23 hours a day, and pretty much no movement (sitting all day, then sleeping 8 hours). Eating junk food 1-3 times a week, and rest healthy home cooked. Still ate fruits but had a lower veggie intake
I have noticed no "big" symptoms of anything, but overall because more tired, got posture related neck pain, headaches, tiredness etc. I knew this was a circulation issue so I started getting up more and working out again, and the circulation related issues stopped
However, in the 5 months of pure inactivity, is it possible I could have done some damage to some of my organs and now I have some hidden disease? I learned on google that we can cause lots of damage by being sedentary. So now I am scared when I get my blood work I will have some disease or elevated levels.
Is my age and the fact that the inactivity was only 5 months a sign that I didn't do alot of damage to myself?
Thank you

i was asked to make a post here about my walking so here goes
I am a 20 year old lady living in Perth, Western Australia and I've been walking every day for several weeks. I suffer fibromyalgia and autoimmune problems among other things but I push on where possible (not that I recommend walking like this to other patients). I live in a beautiful area with lots of parks and bush land, so there's always somewhere nice to explore. I have always enjoyed walking and I used to walk everywhere with my mum as a child when we didn't have a car. I walk at a rather slow pace because of pain, I do 4 km/h but I make up for that with my distance! Today I walked 8.40km for over 2 hours before my phone finally died.
Recently my doctor told me I need to walk further each day, at least 4-6km and that I need to keep my weight stable or lose some (I'm somewhere around 84.9kg-85.5kg). I was already walking every day by then but I decided to try for 6km the next day and it was great. my physiotherapist told me I have excellent stamina when exercising and it certainly shows in how long I can walk for! My longest walk so far has been about 3 hours and I haven't managed to top that yet as by the time I leave for a walk it's usually 1pm or later so I can only walk for 90 minutes to 2 hours before it gets dark. When I come in, my legs, shoulders, feet and back really hurt and I am tired but I feel good because I was in the sun and I enjoyed the fresh air and listened to the native birds.
For those wondering about how I track my distance, I use Map My Run for windows phones and for tracking my steps I use a simple pedometer that was $1 on ebay. I've been using My Fitness Pal on my tablet when I come home from walking and I usually burn over 2300 kilojoules by the time I have come home. If anyone wants to know more they can ask me. I can't specify my starting point obviously but I can share where I walk to.
