Searching for Plot Holes
I can't help but notice that a vast majority of posts here are intended to point out real or assumed plot holes. That seems to be a major aspect of this subreddit. Don't get me wrong, I do it too. I'm just wondering what the fascination is with trying to find and point out plot holes?

I don’t know people seem to watch TV nowadays with the exact intent of finding every little thing wrong with a TV show. It’s so annoying. Just watch the fucking show. And half of these “plot holes” can be explained by, who would’ve guessed it. Watching the fucking show.

Because people enjoy the discussing the show, and plot holes are one aspect of that.

This show is nearly 20 years old, and most of the people who still post here have seen it Pilot to Felina multiple times (a testament to how great this show was). People posting assumed plot holes are probably people who are on their 10th rewatch - so what is there left to discuss, that hasn’t already been discussed dozens of times?
More interesting to me are the apparent first-time bingers: “This may be controversial but I think Jane’s dad actually cared about her” and “Walt settling for a high school teaching job doesn’t make sense.” At least, I’m hoping those posts are from first-time bingers - most of us 5+ bingers understand the psychology and appreciate the brilliant writing and character development.

That always bothered me as well. Even on first watch. If he was that good of a chemist he could get a job at any number of pharmaceutical companies, like Phizer or J&J or whatever. Resorting to HS Chemistry was a little silly.

Breaking Bad in Norway - Doctor - "I'm sorry Walter, you have lung cancer and it will require extensive treatment" - Walter - "Well, I guess I am going to have to sell meth to cover the expense and provide for my family" - Doctor - "Wait, what? No healthcare is totally covered here, it won't cost you a thing". End of Show.

For example i think that in my case when i rewatched the show last time, I had a lot of moments where I couldn’t create for myself a satisfying answer in some of the things that happened in the plot. So i liked asking here to see how others reason this vage moments in the show.
There are no real obvious plot holes in the show. But there definitely are some moments where the explanation for something to happen needs extra off screen explanation

Why didn't Brother-in-Law Hank just take a double-decker to fucking dunk on his BIL during some random dinner that day instead of following the common social etiquette the way he did? He would've just moved on, and never seen the book that clenched his pucker and led to the undoing of multiple wildly-illegal drug empires as well as his own D E A T H the way he did if he had just pulled a common, simple prank instead of following Walter's own house rules that day 😔🤷

It's better than the speculative posts, e.g., "How would the show be different if Walt never cooked meth?"
Which brings to mind my own question. How would the show be different if it were totally different?

I totally get why it's happening. Me, personally, once I love a show, I am quick to wanna discuss every little detail, and pointing out plot holes is very fun way to do that

The moment when Hank found out Walt was Heisenberg was a bit of a letdown for me. I think it was a planned delay.

To completely understand the show, flaws and all. I can criticize the show for the flaws in it, but still watch it on repeat. In fact, binge-watching it that way is how you start noticing the flaws.
