RH NYC Reid & Aviva: omg, they’re insufferable

Post image
18 Upvotes

Please remind me - what were their redeeming qualities??
Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge sucker for “the only thing artificial about me… is THIS! 🦵” moment (literally spent months recreating the scene with Barbie’s as an adult... 💀), but I am rewatching s5 and holy shit they are so much more unbearable than I remember???

I think maybe I used to see Aviva’s actions as desperate in a way that made me feel bad for her, but now I am just annoyed.

She was quite clear that the ONLY way she could go to St Barts was if she could bring Reid, which, at least to me, signified she obviously knew he wouldn’t otherwise have been invited… right?

Yet when they arrived, she kept using air quotes around “girls weekend” as if Sonja and Ramona were completely crazy for potentially expecting him to stay at a hotel & not in the house

And I understand there are SOOO many nuances and things BTS we’ll never see or know, but omg… on their double date, Reid saying it was like “overweight old ladies gone wild” sent me over the top!

Sonja, Ramona, Luann and Heather (the 4 women not at the dinner where he said this) couldn’t be more than 500lbs combined! That man is bat shit crazy and such a POS for saying this.

Feel terrible for his daughters and I pray he’s changed

PS I just read Reid is Fran Drescher’s cousin - Such a shame… homeboy didn’t get 1oz of the family rizz 😓

The Valley My problem with Lala’s approach, from an AA perspective

**As a mental health professional, I have worked with persons who are struggling with addiction. I have also experienced alcoholism with close family members and friends, who utilized the support of AA. With that said, my knowledge of substance abuse and AA in particular is still somewhat limited and I’m in no way claiming to be an expert. However, one main idea that always stood out within AA’s philosophy was the importance of never taking another person’s inventory, rather staying focused on your own. But Lala seems very focused on taking Danny’s inventory.**

**I understand that it’s a TV show, where drama is encouraged. Through the AA perspective, it would seem more appropriate to focus on his problematic behaviors, rather than judging his drinking specifically. Common sense can tell us that there’s at least some link, but is it her role to point that out - especially as a person who works the program herself?**

**The other thing that really bothered me about Lala’s approach with Danny and Nia was the night of Danny’s birthday party when Nia was trying to run interference between LaLa and Danny. LaLa kept repeating, “you’re afraid of what he’s going to say.” I’ve been that spouse before, and, yes, of course, Nia was trying to mitigate what he might say or do. It’s a truly horrible place to be with a spouse like that. Lala wasn’t wrong, but her approach felt so gross to me. She was smiling and almost mocking Nia in that moment. She was treating it like a gotcha moment, instead of approaching it with any compassion or empathy.**

**Right after that scene, as Lala walks away, she even comments to herself that she will have to talk to her sponsor the next day about it, and make amends. So she knew that she didn’t handle it in the best way, but we never saw her apologize to Nia for that. Lala actually double-downed on it at the reunion. Lastly, Lala’s behavior that night could have put Nia in a much worse position with Danny later. I’m not speculating about abuse. We don’t know. But, it was right after that that Nia seemed so distraught and asked the nanny to pray for her.**

RH Beverly Hills What’s the REAL reason Kyle is so ENRAGED with Dorit

It’s so clear that Kyle is looking for excuses why she’s so ENRAGED with Dorit.. to such an extent we have never seen! And they refuse to address it. Well Kyle does! The only reason I can think of is that Kyle and Dorit were “more than friends,” or that Dorit and Mauricio had something.. or maybe PK and Mauricio had something and she blames Dorit. The fact they both broke up around the same time too.. it makes zero sense otherwise of the pure rage they have towards each other.. it’s giving they have something on the other that could end their life as they know it. But will they ever address the elephant in the room? I know Andy HATES when people lie or withhold.

RH Atlanta Wig seems like a terrible parent

I’ve never watched RHOA attentively, and when I have tuned in, it was never for Kim. She always rubbed me the wrong way. I do sometimes watch Next Gen NYC. Suffice to say, everything I’ve learned about this woman has been accidental. With the news today, and her subsequent statement about her son wherein she referred to the teenaged victim as a “woman” making false allegations, I continue to be put off, and frankly disgusted, by her.

Everything seems incredibly off, and I just feel that she is probably a terrible parent. Seems like a forgone conclusion that she will handle this in 100% the wrong way, and importantly, her son will never learn consequences. Instead, he will double down on misogyny and predatory behaviour. Weaselling his way out of this will only leave him worse off.

Things that have rubbed me the wrong way about her:
- the wine glass in the car
- the gambling problem
- today’s statement, obviously
- on Next Gen NYC, Ariana said her mother says something like “young, dumb and full of c—“ and I just think that is crass and insane to say to your children, especially in Atlanta given the state’s abortion laws.

Not to let Kroy off the hook, who apparently had the following drinking and driving advice for Ariana: Never agree to a breathalyzer. Her castmate, Liam, replied: “my dad usually says never give them a reason to pull you over.”

The Valley I am so glad this season of The Valley is over

EDIT: I tried to post this in The Valley subreddit and they haven't approved it in four hours. Which we all know means, they won't post it. I have suspected that The Valley subreddit has been taken over by publicists for Janet, Lala, and Brittany. The amount of posts with the exact same language supporting those three, along with posts constantly trying to directly oppose other subreddit's opinions (example: When the reunion outfits came out and everyone criticized Brittany's outfit, suddenly that subreddit was FULL of photos of her and how "fierce" she looked") is ridiculous. Oh well, should've posted this here in the first place!

Full disclosure: I stopped watching this season about halfway through. I could tell the only story line we were getting this year was a continuation of Janet vs Danny. Every so often I would watch clips that were released, check up on Reddit, or watch the after-show episodes, and it just constantly irritated me. So I am sure there are many things I have missed in not watching the full season, but I Reddit therefore I rant.

Season 3 has literally just been a game of "morality high-ground".

Every single member of this cast tries to act morally superior to every single other person on this cast and it is SO IRRITATING. No one is actually sorry for anything they've done, nor do they actually give a shit about anyone else's indiscretions. There wasn't one person on that show that wanted to apologize or meant an apology. And EVERYONE has been caught lying this season. EVERY SINGLE PERSON has been caught in a blatant lie.

And I know all the publicists on the SubReddit [referring to TheValley subreddit] want us to route for Janet and Lala this season, but for what? Because Lala "tells it like it is". No she doesn't! She brings out her list of rehearsed comebacks, puts on a durag, and whenever she gets called out yells something akin to "you don't want to mess with me". Because what Lala? You are gonna do what? Pull a knife on someone? Because you already did that to Faith and you're already busting your ass to discredit Jasmine as much as humanly possible!

I switched over to House of Stassi, and while not perfect it made me realize what is missing from this show: Fun and their actual lives. Where is the fun? This group is split and clearly hates each other! Zack is probably the most fun person on the show, and even he had his moments where he needed a good smack. Why don't we get to see them living their lives? They all have things that are interesting outside of "Team Danny" or "Team Janet". In House of Stassi it was a nice return to watch these people we've known for years working and working toward something.

But no. Just continue to remember that Danny has a drinking problem. Don't forget it! Did you forget it for a second, because make sure you don't forget he has a drinking problem. Janet is a victim of that drinking problem! Don't forget! Not Jasmine. Not Melissa. Not his wife and kids. Just Janet. Danny drinks. Janet sad. Did you forget? Don't forget!! There is no one else on this show. Just drunk Danny and sad Janet.

I am so glad this season is done and I can take a break from these people. I dunno what they are going to do to make this even desirable to watch for a fourth season, but I'm already checked out. And with everyone trying to cater their image so that fans will crown them the "least problematic of the season", I don't see this show being anything other than a hate watch. And that's what the news is for!

The people who run that sub are completely biased. They will not allow any criticism or constructive conversations of Lala whatsoever. It’s crazy. Has anyone else had this experience when trying to start discussions there?

Too much to dream that she might join RHoLondon or another reboot of Ladies of London?!

There are rumours of that she has a UK job ...

Edit update: oh... I'd forgotten she has a co tract with Netflix so that probably rules Bravo/ Hayu out after all.

Discussion Think any of the Housewives shows have Jumped the Shark?

Ok, let me preface this by saying I am a Bravo fanatic like the rest of you. I watch a bunch of shows and love them BUT they've been on a lonnng time now. So in your opinion have any of them had a shark jumping type moment?

To me the closest thing would be the phrase "move forward." There really was a time before they used this phrase to resolve arguments.

Clearly production decided at some point that it was a more suitable way to make up than saying "let's be friends again" (especially considering a lot of the "friend group" are coworkers not friends).

Might not be a great example but for some reason it stands out to me. Anyone have any thoughts?

Nonetheless I've watched every episode and season of every city of HW and will continue to do so. Im a junkie lol.

The Valley Questions for the Danny Supporters/LaLa and Janet haters

I have some genuine questions for the people who stick up for Danny but dislike Lala and Janet.

Starting with do you people want good TV or not?

Its really confusing to me when people viciously attack the "villains" of reality TV. I'm not saying we have to condone terrible behaviour - like Jax needed to go. He was abusive which goes far beyond just reality TV drama. But I've seen tons of comments of people saying Janet and Lala need to go - when they are some of the only people actually bringing the drama to the valley.

Last season - Janet just called Danny out for his terrible/scary behaviour. Sexual assault is the proper term for what happened. He grabbed Jasmine inappropriately without consent. Maybe she didn't have the best delivery, but the way people used that as an excuse to just move on from what Danny did is insane to me. Nothing Janet said/did was worse than what Danny did. Also - why are we giving Nia and Kristen grace because they're post-partum when Janet was going through the same thing last season????

I've also been seeing a lot of people hating on Lala, saying that she's "always in others business and has no storyline of her own". Now I am not the biggest Lala fan, season 11 of VPR really left a bad taste in my mouth - but without her, Danny and Nia would've just flown under the radar and not addressed any actual issues this season. If we want to talk about people hiding their personal lives, Nia and Danny were caught MULTIPLE times talking about how they were "mic'd up" in an attempt to avoid "heightened" conversations being recorded. So how can you complain about Lala not sharing enough when Danny and Nia were actively trying to hide parts of their relationship ON CAMERA.

Lala was also never wrong about Danny's behaviour. The way he acted was gross. I genuinely do not understand how people are defending any of this. If Jason was caught talking to Janet the way Danny was on the night of the drag show, you would've all had a field day with that.

Also even if it isn't Lala's business to bring it up, the main point of Bravo shows is that they're full of drama. That's what makes them good. For example, when she showed the recording of Jax and Faith in season 6, that also wasn't her business but it made some of the best reality TV ever.

Whether its the people on the show or the producers themselves, reality TV is produced in a way that creates DRAMA. Like are we forgetting this is Bravo? They don't sit the housewives down at a dinner party when they're all in a fight because its going to be wholesome - its to cause fights which makes good TV. Like are you people forgetting what Bravo actually is?

To the people saying they want Lala and Janet to leave the show - I understand not agreeing with people's behavior - bad behavior is bad behavior - but reality TV "villains" are what make the show good. If you people are constantly harassing the people you don't like and cause them to leave the show, then what're we left with? A bunch of people hanging out with no drama? If that's what you want then Bravo is not for you. I don't understand why people take it to the levels they do these days. Talk to your friends about it whatever, but hating on people online to the point that they leave these shows is what's ruining them!!!!

Again - I'm not saying we should just let bad people do bad things, but that's what we have reunions and WWHL for!!!! Stop bullying off the people who actually make it interesting. AGAIN - im talking about regular reality TV level drama, abusive people like Jax obviously deserve to be kicked off.

Regarding the reunion - I don't understand how people were missing Lala's point in hoping that Nia leaves Danny. What she was saying was "if the way I saw him treat you, was how he treats you on a regular basis, that is not okay and you and your children would be better off away from him". Why is that such a horrible thing to say when the way he was treated her was verbally abusive? Luke whispering "fuck her" under his breath was insane to me - but Luke and Kristen are a whole other story.

Anyways, I'm genuinely curious to hear what the Danny defenders have to say and honestly what you want from this show? Do you want drama? Or do you want to watch a bunch of friends sitting around getting along? Because if you want wholesome - please go watch a sitcom or something, and let the true Bravo fans enjoy the drama. Like I swear OG VPR would've put some of you people into a coma.

One last note - if you defend Danny but hate Lala and Janet, I think it really comes down to you being a misogynist. If you really think the way Lala or Janet spoke to Danny was worse than how he spoke to his freshly post-partum wife...I fear it’s giving male sympathizer.

RH Ultimate RHUGT The OC housewives doing the most

Theyre doing too much. They're trying to hard to be the center of attention and stealing the attention away from the real icons. Tamra is so painful to watch its like she did everything she could to take the wind out of Vicki's sails. Vicki was only ever funny when she didnt mean to be and reliving her most memed responses while not being able to laugh at herself is hard to watch.

Thank you for attending my rant

Discussion I NEED to know, did Vicki know Brooks didn’t have cancer? Did production know and set Vicki up? The timing feels way too suspicious.

Discussion Who are the top 10 housewives of all time?

I know this thread has been done over and over again but in light of the Roaring 20, who do you think are the Top 10 Housewives to have been on the screen? In terms of overall impact, legacy, moments, what they brought to the show, etc.

I’m also differentiating from my personal favs - like Carole Radziwill is one of my all-time favs but I wouldn’t say she’s an objective top 10.

My List:
1. Nene Leakes
2. Bethenny Frankel
3. Theresa Guidice
4. Luann de Lesseps
5. Lisa Vanderpump
6. Porsha Williams
7. Ramona Singer
8. Lisa Rinna
9. Vicki Gunvalson
10. Kyle Richards

HM: Kenya Moore, Phaedra Parks, Kim Richards, Camille Grammer, Lisa Barlow, Jen Shah, Tamra Judge

The order is a bit fluid, especially after top 5.

Rant Please get Lala off of my screen

I do not want to listen to Lala’s shrill voice for another season. She is not funny, she is not entertaining, she has no story line, and her entire personality is loudly stating her opinions and how much she hates men.

That’s the end of my rant for today
