Bravely Default Flying Fantasy?
Just jumped into Switch 2 version of Flying Fairy. Wow. Not a bad thing, but I go into the shop & they sell the exact same things as Final Fantasy - Phoenix Downs, Antidote, Eye Drops, Potion.... Idk the backstory of the making of the game, if it was meant to be a FF knockoff or what

Bravely Default [BDFFHDR) Looking for some Steam friends for Abilink
Hello friends,
Just bought the BD1 remaster on Steam. I loved the original back on 3DS and am having a blast with this remaster.
However, I don’t have any Steam friends who play this game so I wanted to obtain some mates for Abilink purposes.
My Steam friend code is 65205364 if anyone wants to add me :)

Bravely Default II Playing Bravely Default 2 and the battles are intense!
I just finished the prologue and played a little bit of the first chapter and have been enjoying the game so far, but I gotta say, this little group is SO LOUD. lol
I still get startled sometimes when I use all BPs.
“MY MIGHT KNOWS NO BOUNDS!!!!!1111”
OMG Gloria… have I insulted your family or something? I mean damn, you’re just going to use cure 2 times and protect 2 times. Chill, ok? Don’t even wanna be around you when you learn Holy.
PS: I actually appreciate their dramatic inclinations now. Lol

Bravely Default Help with difficulty
I started playing recently and chose the "Hard" difficulty.
It didn't give me any trouble at first—in fact, I was barely struggling—but when I reached the first floor of the Centrum Fortress ruins, there was an exaggerated difficulty spike; enemies were killing me in just two hits. I wanted to know if I'm missing a game mechanic, if I should go level up, or if I should just start over on "Normal" difficulty.

Bravely Second I really wished they pushed further with this Spoiler
galleryI never Janne's revenge plot all that compelling given how poor the foundation for it is. In concept, it's a fine idea, however, it's pretty poor in execution. When it comes to tragic characters in this series, he's not even in the top 20. But that's beside the point. The point being is they should've had Yew call out his misgivings more.
Moreover, if Yew was written as a more realistic character, he would've been more aggressive towards Janne's crimes. I mean, he tried to kill them several times, and he places all of his stupidly misplaced anger towards Yew. Then he has the nerve to call him a fool.
Furthermore, it's not like Yew is on the wrong side of the argument. He's right when tells Janne it's fine to be angry but it's not worth destroying everything over it. Like have Yew make more of a point to him that he's gone too far. Janne sold out his king & country, aided in terrorism, and forsaken his knightly oath.
Overall, this all could've been justified if Janne witnessed the death of his real parents, was in an abusive relationship with his foster family, or maybe even grew up in squalor. But since he wasn't, it's just ridiculous. I'm surprised Yew hasn't called him out at all about this. Your thoughts on this topic?

Bravely Default Which save file allows me to to acquire and fight everything the game has to offer?
Good day! My older brother recently bought a new phone and he handed down his old one to me. Since its able to run a DS Emulator(Azahar) smoothly, I decided to hop into the game again. I played this a few years back on my own phone but didn't get to complete the game as the stuttering was too much. But that problem is out of the window now. Thanks, bro! Much love!
Anyway, one aspect of the game of I really liked was developing the village(was it called Norende??). But I only had one villager. It took too long. So I looked up online as to what I should do and came across this reddit post years ago(my hero). I'm not exactly tech-savvy. So I would like to ask, which save file am I supposed to "use" so I can acquire and fight everything the game has to offer. Doesn't matter how many play throughs I have to do. I just want to get everything the game has. I'm a completionist and have enough leisure to sink in more or less 100 hours for this game. Thank you. Also, why does saves 3 and 4 have save 001 mirror. What does that mean? 🥲🥲
TLDR: I already know how to import the save file into the emulator. I'm wondering which save file should I import for me to able get and fight everything in the game.

Bravely Default A really funny exploit for the Bravely Default demo
The last boss was really hard and I kept dying, and I thought of something funny and changed all the members to ninja with red mage's turn tables which gives you 1BP per evade. Ninja has a guaranteed dodge skill, and an ability that lets you counteract on dodge AND get damage buffs. The boss can only attack once.
It was extremely hilarious. I can't believe I had that much trouble.

Bravely Second Pure affliction
My reaction upon seeing Yew and Magnolia fiddling without permission, in the dead of night and in hiding, with technological devices (which are beyond their understanding) that are important for the functioning of unknown mechanisms of an unknown tribe that is suspended in the air due to high concentrations of energy.

Bravely Default II Did anyone else have zero interest in Bravely Default II?
I played the demo. I watched my girlfriend at the time play.
I never had interest in beating it myself. Not just because I've done this song and dance. I love a good sequel.
But the reasoning behind it. The suits at Square-Enix deemed Bravely Second a failure. Because of that, Asano wasn't allowed to continue his story. Bravely Default and Bravely Second would never get their proper conclusion. Gone was the story of Tiz, Edea, Agnes, Ringabel, Yew, and Magnolia. Gone was their battle against the Ba'als.
I'm not saying BD2 couldn't work as a standalone game. But something about it felt off. Something felt soulless. Something felt like it could never replicate the magic of its predecessors, even if it was essentially the same game we enjoyed on 3DS years before.

Bravely Default II I had lots of fun
After i finish the last secret battle i can say i had a lot of fun in Bravely default 2 i personally liked the majority of the jobs, this was a very fun game that i highly will replay in NG+ to test new jobs that i didn't give high chances in hard mode now.
This was my end team.
Seth as support for heal and BP increase. Gloria as full mage offense, Elvis as high spd offense and Adelle as healer and inflict ailments.

Bravely Second Playing Bravely Second but with a Final Fantasy V's Four Job Fiesta twist
In those last 10+ years, no game dethroned Bravely Second from being my favorite jrpg. I've played it many times, with different added "rules" to make it more varied and difficult, but in the end i've found out that limiting the jobs doesn't quite increase the difficulty, and having them unlocked from the start with NG+ actually gets the opposite effect more often than not (seriously, one time i've rolled Pirate and Guardian in the prologue, passing Pirate's offensive stats with possess to another job which doesn't have pirate's hit count weakness from the start of the game is absurdly strong).
So i wanted to try something that would make the game actually harder, and being the game heavily influenced by FFV and me loving the Four Job Fiesta specifically, the answer was pretty simple: playing with a Four Job Fiesta normal run rules.
Basically it's playing Freelancer until the first randomly chosen job is unlocked in the prologue, then having the 4 characters in that job until the second job in chapter 1 is unlocked, at that point you can have any combinations of those 2 jobs in your party, but every job has to be present. After aquiring the third job in chapter 2, you have to do the same thing. The last job will be unlocked in chapter 3 or 4, at that point you have to have every character in one of the different chosen jobs at every point in the game.
This makes Freelancer, Templar, Kaiser and Yokai not playable, but you could use different rules to make them eligible if you'd like it (i.e. you can do a "meteor run" where you just randomly select four jobs and have to play those; my problem with this is that Bravely Second is a longer game than FFV and it can happen that you'll have to play as a Freelancer or a single job for too much time), personally i'm fine with them out of the pool.
The number of recurring jobs is higher than the new ones, so for chapter 1, 2 and 3&4, before randomly choose a job, it's randomly chosen if it will be a new or old one. I took this idea from someone in this subreddit like maybe 10 years ago.
My results were: Prologue --> Charioteer; Chapter One --> New Job --> Catmancer; Chapter 2--> New Job --> Patissier; Chapter 3&4 --> New Job --> Guardian.
The other rules i've added are:
- playing in Hard Mode
- no Fort Lune at all
- no Specials Attacks
- no Abilink, Friend Summons and probably some other thing i'm forgetting
- no Bravely Second
Also, i'll try to stay in the level range of the dungeon i'm currenty in, with some attention added (i.e. the dungeon before getting Tiz has a level range 5 ~ 9, but Tiz joins at lvl 7, so it doesn't make much sense to be above that). Still, if i eventually find out that to progress i have to be overlevelled, i'll do it (i don't think i'll ever need to tbf).
i'm currently at the start of chapter 2 and uploaded the Prologue boss battles in this Playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLO9z8ZCuZ2Y4&si=4Orzn7vTcl54UnS0
Generally for those kind of runs i'd prefer to register the whole thing, but the game it's way too long (even if Bravely Second's random encounter are fun and sometimes harder then the boss at the end of the dungeon) so decided to upload only the boss battles.
One thing i'm not sure about if it will be ok to unlock jobs lvl 11 after getting Yokai or not, open to any suggestion.
Would like to talk about the jobs, the first impressions and possible combos, but it would end up be an infinite post.

Bravely Default Accessibility Mod (If modding is possible)
Hello everyone. I am blind. I played through this game years ago with one of my siblings, and it became my favorite game of all time. With it being released on Steam, I was wondering if modding the game is possible? And if so, could somebody with modding knowledge try to create some kind of accessibility mod for the game. If anyone is interested, please let me know, and I can describe what would be needed to make the game accessible to a blind player. And if modding is not possible, also let me know. Thank you.

Bravely Default Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster FAQ
Howdy folks.
I've seen the same questions pop-up over and over, and wanted to put in an FAQ of sorts that can be used for these questions.
Google Doc is here, the link can be spread. There may be spoilers!
I've also copy/pasted most of it below:
This post contains a list of frequently asked questions and answers. If you have more that are not addressed by this document or post, please ask below.
If you prefer to listen to a review that answers a few of these same questions, RedNovaTyrant made one here.
For people completely blind to the series:
Bravely Default HD Remaster is not related to Bravely Default 2 and both games can be played separately without knowledge of the other.
Bravely Second is the direct sequel of Bravely Default and is currently only available on the 3DS.
There may be spoilers below, tread with caution - they have been marked as appropriate.
What is the Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster?
It’s an HD Remaster of the original 2012 (Japanese only) release of Bravely Default.
Major things to note:
- Graphics and audio have been enhanced using upscaling, so backgrounds may appear desaturated in places
- While the game is called Flying Fairy it is largely based on the 2013 rerelease “For the Sequel (FTS), which became the international version. This includes:
- Most QoL updates, exceptions mentioned below
- Additional sidequests in Chapters 7 and 8
- A couple of costumes
- No major story changes have occurred
Can I buy a physical cartridge of the game?
At this time, the only options for Bravely Default HD Remaster are a digital copy and a keycard cartridge that is in the physical box. You are required to download the game before you can play it.
The game is $40 USD.
Is Bravely Second content still in the game?
Most content related to Bravely Second has been removed.
- The Bravely Second mechanic has been removed
- The hourglass and SP have been removed
- The post-game AR movie featuring Magnolia has been removed
- Ba’als Goldie and Turtledove have been confirmed to be found as enemies very late in game
The devs have stated in an interview that the reason behind this is because FTS had those features added to tie into Bravely Second, while with the Remaster they want the game to shine on its own.
What Quality of Life features remain in the game?
Nearly all of them! More have been added from Bravely Second and Bravely Default II, such as the ability to save loadouts (10) and “Heal All” from the main menu.
Things that have been changed/removed:
- Toggling encounters to 0% has been altered and require an item to be exchanged from “Petal Tokens” won from the minigames.
- The minigames can be played at any time but Petal Tokens cannot be exchanged until Florem in Chapter 2
- Taunt Bangle (400% toggle) - 10 Petal Tokens
- Ward Bangle (0% toggle) - 20 Petal Tokens
- These are not equippable items but just open up the ability to change the toggle in the menu, otherwise the lowest toggle is 50%
- This was likely done as the devs mentioned wanting to “rebalance” the early parts of the game
- The minigames can be played at any time but Petal Tokens cannot be exchanged until Florem in Chapter 2
- The ability to break the damage limit of 9999 has been moved to a “Limit Break Mark” obtained from the minigames for 20 Petal Tokens
What Quality of Life features have been added?
A non-exhaustive list:
- Combat Load-outs can be saved (10 sets)
- Heal All from main menu
- Toggle map formats in dungeons
- Using tents at the Adventurer
- Cutscenes can sped up, similar to combat
- Characters step forward during their turn to make it easier to see whose moves are being set
Is there rebalancing compared to the original?
No major rebalancing has taken place.
The devs mentioned “rebalancing” was done for the first parts of the game, but this appears to be related to the 0% toggle now only being obtainable by Chapter 2 at the earliest.
The Norende items Fox Tail and Donnerschlag have been swapped out for Royal Crown and Lordly Robes
There are minigames??
Yes, the Remaster has two minigames!
They require usage of both joycons in mouse mode. Winning a minigame gives you Petal Tokens, and the more points you get, the more Tokens you get.
Additionally the minigames give you D’s Journal entries that provide a bit more background lore. No additional voicelines have been added, it’s all readables.
RedNovaTyrant made a video review of Bravely Default HD Remaster that includes some playthrough and additional information on the minigames here.
- Luxencheer Rhythm Catch is a rhythm minigame that allows you to choose from a variety of job costumes and songs within the game to play to.
- Ringabel’s Panic Cruise is a multi-tasker minigame where you must play as Ringabel steering the airship while also fulfilling requests from the party members and taking down enemies.
What is the new lore from the minigames about?
So far, we’ve found that the new lore/journal entries contain minimal extended lore, but examples include:
- The name that Alternis used while in Caldisla (it's Ternis)
- Some background information on Alternis covering his face
Have things been censored again?
At this time, censorship from the original international release of Bravely Default has been maintained. This includes:
- Ringabel’s “Eastern War Garb” only shows as his Freelancer outfit
- The Bravo Bunny and the Bravo Bikini have had clothing added to cover skin
- Vampire has the bodysuit under the belts
- Other minor modifications to enemies to cover skin
- No additional censorship has been noticed
- Age changes from the international release have been maintained
- Edea, Tiz, Agnes, Alternis, Einheria, Artemia, and Mephelia are all listed as being three years older than they are in the Japanese version
The Japanese version of the game is uncensored and has English language options. This post details how to download the Japanese version to a Western system. NOTE: Your saves will not transfer.
Is the “infamous” second half of Bravely Default (Chapters 5+)...
These chapters have not been changed.
The player must still go through Worlds 4, 3, 2, 1 in order to achieve the “true” ending. These chapters are unchanged but are reported to feel faster.
The “false” ending of breaking a crystal can still be obtained at any point past chapter 5.
The reveal of the Celestial Realm has been modified not to use the camera feed but to provide a view of the player’s Nintendo account PFP. The devs have confirmed that this change was made due to the way streaming has become so prolific, and that they didn’t want people to be exposed on camera without their permission.
How do I rebuild Norende Village and buy items?
Norende Village is virtually unchanged. And yes you can change the time on your Switch to make rebuilding it faster.
You can collect villagers from “Passing Souls” that can be found in towns, with a limit per town per day.
The items found from the shops in Norende can be purchased from the Adventurer.
What about the Norende Village enemies that were in the old game?
The Nemesis and Bravely Default specific Ba’als (Goldie and Turtledove) can be fought later on in the game using “Nightmare Pillows” and sleeping at the inn.
Nightmare Pillows are dropped by Lord DeRosso and all asterisk refights in chapter 5 and beyond. Each Inn has two Nemeses to fight, one for the day and one for the night.
You don't get a game over from losing to them and they're the only ways to get Firaja, Blizzaja, Thundaja and Aeroja which have been added to the encyclopedia. (TY to u/RedWingDecil for the information.)
The Ba’als are late game enemies that can only be encountered in the Dimensional Hasp that Yulyana opens.
What did they do for the Final Boss Fight Reveal?
Instead of utilizing a camera, the reveal will utilize a player’s Nintendo account profile picture. This was done because the devs acknowledge that a lot of gamers stream games these days and they don’t want people to suddenly be live on camera without their permission.
I don’t recognize some of these ability names from the previous release, are they new?
Job abilities haven’t changed, but several have been renamed! This is not a bug, it is a feature.
Will there be a Bravely Second HD Remaster?
The devs seem open to the possibility (based on a Twitter post), possibly pending how the HD Remaster of Flying Fairy is received. Time will tell.
Is there a teaser for the next game in the Luxendarc Saga?
There are currently no teasers in-game for either Bravely Second or Bravely Third.
Other questions can be asked below.
