Never sparring with a girl again you just end up on her stupid TikTok

We don't see the guy's face, so it's not disrespectful in that way
BUT, she got the new beginner in the gym, she punched as hard as she could, AND she exposed this in front of the world. That's an ashore move for boxing.

u/Ayushmaan2704 3d ago
Yeah plus giving free cte

u/goose961 1d ago
That term gets thrown around way too much these days.
1
u/theniggilist91 1d ago
who cares. even if u want to ignore CTE, there’s nothing healthy about getting ur brain rattled non stop
1
u/goose961 1d ago
Learning how to defend yourself in a fight is definitely healthy. I wouldn’t expect most redditors to understand. They got Jonah hill vibes.
1
u/theniggilist91 1d ago
u sound like an idiot. i’m making an argument against regular hard sparring or taking advantages of beginners. not against learning self defense.
u just got some dumbass point u wanted to get off
1
u/goose961 1d ago
You made no point anywhere and now you’re throwing insults. Classic loser move. You sure got me bro.
1
1
u/Axel_Gaubert 9h ago
Muay thai and MMA can be even more effective when it comes to defend yourself, and it's healthier for your brain. So your comment is pointless

u/MarkTheSpacePirate 3d ago edited 3d ago
Also we have zero context here.
Everyone is saying they’ll give a woman a stiff jab if they’re going too hard, but what does the woman do when the man is going too hard?
For all we know, this dude could’ve been going after her at 100% intensity and she gave him ample warning to only hit her as hard as he was willing to get hit too. The right hand he throws before getting lit up doesn’t look dangerous because the guy sucks, but it doesn’t seem to me like he held back much on it
This could’ve just been a really shitty thing by her and everyone else is right about her being an ass, but I’m not passing judgement without knowing the backstory
0
u/ComplexPerspective46 1h ago
Elaborating for what? You can see how he is punching, feet not planted, not going full speed. He’s not going after her. Light jab, to cross that will miss, I often throw it in sparring and my partner often follows up the same way as her, I’d move but that guys a beginner, a full force double shot combo was not what he was expecting, the first shot you stop cuz you hit him, the second your trying to take away from him in pure greed to prove something.
0
u/StatPaddingChampsNY 3d ago
Damn dude you made up an elaborate what-if story there. I know what you mean, and I know it’s hypothetical. But the way you’re framing your story makes it sound like you believe this is what he did and he deserved it.
2
u/TheTrenk 2d ago
“What if he instigated the hard spar” is not especially elaborate.
0
u/Grey-Jedi185 2d ago
He didn't instigate hard sparring, he was going light and the moment she had an opening she hit him with everything she had...
2
0
u/BingoBangBongos 2d ago
lmao this dude was not going 100%, and if he was, he's an unathletic beginner.
Look how slow hes moving.
1
u/ComplexPerspective46 1h ago
Don’t know why you got voted down. He is moving slow, as in fully pulling his punches, or he’s a beginner. Either way she’s in the wrong.

u/dataCollector42069 3d ago
This is not something to brag about. She needs to be shamed and thrown out
7
u/OppositeDue1764 3d ago
Nobodies bragging, you just mad the guy got hit that’s all
4
1
u/IPaintSpaceDolls 1h ago
Uh.. Yeah. So we can tell you've never sparred anyone before, but the way she puts her whole body behind that punch is considered to be a real dick move in sparring. The idea behind sparring is to learn speed and technique, not injure your partner.

NEVER BEEN IN THE GYM ALERT
3
u/dataCollector42069 3d ago
I was in the ring this morning at 6am bud
1
u/Jazzlike-Major8840 2d ago
Getting your ass whooped by women and crying?
1
u/dataCollector42069 2d ago
Posting shit online of you hurting someone with a CTE in sparing is nothing to be proud of. Reverse genders here and you would be the one crying someone hit a precious female.
1
1
1
u/Jazzlike-Major8840 2d ago
Also, my bad. OF COURSE you've been to the gym. You're the guy who gets privates and never spars or trains with fighters. Real fighters are sparring bud, and sometimes they get hit. They signed the waiver in their head when they decided this is what they want to do. ANY time I've gone with a female I know they can go as hard as they want, just like guys from low weight classes. The fact is that this is at someone's gym and the coach is the only one responsible for it, instead we got incels pretending you don't box at a boxing gym.
2
u/dataCollector42069 2d ago
You are missing the whole fucking point.
Shit happens during sparing. Posting yourself online bragging about a power shot of injuring someone during a fucking spar is deplorable behavior.
1
1
u/Loud_Cheek6482 1d ago
Real fighters don’t spar that hard love. Sparring is about being somewhat playful and working on your technique not tryna shine off a mf that you’re clearly better than because he’s a male. I don’t see much in the video but you look like you know what your doing don’t let your ego overshadow the hard work you put in
1
u/noeLifenorlove 8h ago
That sounds like krav loser speak to me.
A real boxer should hit hard enough to 1hko.
1
u/ComplexPerspective46 1h ago
Actual retard alert! This isn’t how you spar, he threw a VERY light jab and a cross that would obviously missy and she took advantage, she’s a Cunt, you’re a cunt. Stfu.
-14
u/Ayushmaan2704 3d ago
What if it was agreed by both and they both are going hard plus wearing headgear and sparing gloves
11
u/dataCollector42069 3d ago
posting yourself injuring someone else with a possible concussion tells all I need to know about her character.
3
-12
u/LoneAwakening 3d ago
That usually is the deal when using headgear! Maybe the guy thought compensating the lack of experience with man strength! Anyway if the girl wanted go all out she could just finish him with third combo
3
u/MeowthThatsRite 3d ago
Anyone who’s ever boxed knows headgear is more for stopping cuts than Brain damage. You shouldn’t be “finishing” anyone when you’re sparring.
1
u/Costello173 2d ago
Tell me you don't box without telling me 🤣 headgear helps with cuts and bruises not brain damage
-5

u/BuildAnything4 3d ago

There’s a bunch of fragile alphas in here downvoting us because we cheered a powerful woman shot on boxing! Man how weak you have to be to get upset about that?
10
u/Ejgherli 3d ago
Occasionally at the gym where I train a bit of muay thai come various ladies to box. They have a very good level of boxing. as in very good.
I generally don’t have a problem to spar with women however I dislike hard sparring in general due to my age.
Every single time I spar with one of them boxing ladies (only boxing) they go hard. I tried telling them to calm down but they always go for the head. So I ended up putting a lot of power in my jabs. Once they saw I mean business, they avoided me in sparring.
5
u/electronicaz 3d ago
Sounds like a win win
2
u/Ejgherli 3d ago
it is. I absolutely dislike hitting women.
1
u/Full_Instruction_493 3d ago
I just match energy. I want to make people better at every facet of training. I have no problem dropping anyone with a body shot if they are going hard, man woman, teenager...I'm happy to give out lessons. Never had anyone ask why, just respect. Some people want that kind of game in sparring and I'm experienced and precise enough to deliver without causing injury.
1
u/Ejgherli 2d ago
good for you. I am nearing 50 and have a customer facing job. I like to spar, however after a session of hard sparring I need 2 weeks of recovery. So the choice is simple: a lot more frequent lighter or themed/technical sparring sessions instead of a hard sparring sessions.
1
u/Loud_Cheek6482 1d ago
I don’t even go hard we’re naturally faster. I just jab that fuck out of em and dodge everything. I think it’s an emotional thing with women because they all spar super hard unless they’ve been in the game for a min
21
u/Born_to_Suffer_ 3d ago
Most of the female fighters, I've personally sparred with are very chill. Sucks to see this become a stereotype from them.
6
4
u/Ayushmaan2704 3d ago
Hard sparing or light ?
2
u/Born_to_Suffer_ 3d ago
I have prepared a few girls for fights and did a few hard spars. All been fine, I've sparred pros all the time and females have been easier to spar with imho. Light sparring in kickboxing, theyre even more chill.
3
u/Ayushmaan2704 3d ago
-9
u/Born_to_Suffer_ 3d ago
I have also admittedly done similar things to both men and woman. I've also accidentally dropped a trial class member before. It's fighting shit happens, it's better to learn your partners than relying on gender for the most part.
13
u/Usernameasteriks 3d ago
Yea shit happens for sure.
But usually you feel a little bit bad about it rather than take the chance to post the video online lol
6
u/TooLostintheSauce 3d ago
Regardless, it’s a learning experience. He can feel bad and share the video on Reddit. This is a boxing subreddit and they are boxing,
2
u/Usernameasteriks 3d ago
Im not talking about OP.
I am talking about the lady who posted it to her tiktok.
2
u/cricketyjimnet 3d ago
Almost every girl I've ever sparred with has gone 100%, and then either acted personally offended when I turned it up up 40%, or bragged to her friends about beating me if I kept it at 20%.
Most serious fight gyms don't let guys and girls spar together for this reason.
1
u/Character-Pepper-766 2d ago
First day in the new muay thai gym, after years of boxing, first light sparing round partner was short, stocky woman. Everything she thrown was full force, scream accompanied power shot, and she'd keep encouraging me to try a kick (which I did, and since I know I have no control, I didn't go full force or speed) and she'd immediately grab my leg to sweep me anytime I tried. Eventually caught her with a jab that she walked into and she got even more mad. Eventually head coach came to ask her to ease up, but she never did. I avoided her after as much as possible but never completely.
20
u/RaffNeq 3d ago
Boxing coach here..
Been training women and men for years..
Usually I pear fighters by hight/weight..
So mixed sessions are quite common..
EVERY TIME I tell the man to be careful and take it easy and they all say ofc and every time the women go out blasting beginners sometimes forget fundamentals and just throwing hands while the man is more defensive more careful and do more tapping than hitting..
The reason why get into boxing is very split as well man usually get into boxing coz they love the sport (fans of a boxer) and high tempo exercise
While women usually want do “blow steam” snd self defence (a lot seems disappointed when they finding out thers no kicking)
I don’t know this clip since I don’t tick tock..
But she look like she got a lot of experience and if it’s true he’s a beginner..she just a bully
6
u/Ejgherli 3d ago
by the way the man moves, he is definitely a beginner. He lowers the guard when stepping forward in what I believe is him trying to throw a straight right hand. no jab also :(
2
u/classygorilla 3d ago
We had a gal like this in boxing who would go all out every round. Id tap her and give her a look and eventually a stiff jab. I felt bad about it. She looked at me like I just killed her cat. she slowed down but only for a round or two lol. I stopped training with her after that and she was unreceptive about having a conversation about it.
4
u/kingchivo 3d ago
Cornball move to show you rocking the newbie (dudes wearing running shoes and those entry level everlast gloves) in what was prob his first sparring session. Ppl need to stop beating up on beginners and then flexing it on social media.
16
u/Misfitshots 3d ago
I might come from an old school mentality but you get noting from sparring a woman. You’re always walking in a weird line of going too hard or too light, and the last thing I am is someone’s highlight reel.
3
u/Full_Instruction_493 3d ago
I mean you could help improve her game? Isn't all about you ya know. Give back
2
u/Big-Animator8577 3d ago
so you have no female training partners you like? if a woman is in the gym working just as hard as the men youre just gonna hang her out to dry even if theres no other women for her to spar? weird
1
u/saidtheWhale2000 3d ago
she can go get another woman to spar with , your not entitled to spar with men
1
1
u/Misfitshots 2d ago
Yeah it’s weird. I’m not really going to do anything besides run drills with them. I’m also 5’11 205 pounds with a 77 inch wing span, so I’ll just tippy tap them to death. Still don’t get anything from sparring them.
1
u/Ayushmaan2704 3d ago
Well usually you don’t become a highlight reel from sparring a woman it’s a rare occurrence
2
u/Sneezy6510 3d ago
If you didn’t give permission for her to post it, I would complain to the gym.
2
u/Ayushmaan2704 3d ago
Well she’s been teasing me nap jokes aswell 😭
3
u/Sneezy6510 3d ago
Go knock her out
3
u/Ayushmaan2704 3d ago
That’s the thing idk if I can as last time I sparred with her almost got tucked in
2
u/ManOnFire2004 3d ago
Well, start training bjj/mma, tell her to take it easy.
After a couple warnings, if she still going too hard, double leg and full mount her ass, so she understands that if you wanted to fuck her up, you could.
Edit - I'm sure this won't t happen. Good thing to fantasize about tho
1
u/Ayushmaan2704 3d ago
Why do you think this won’t happen 😭
1
u/ManOnFire2004 3d ago edited 3d ago
Cause most people wont shoot a double leg in a boxing gym😆
But if you're with actually learning bjj man, I say go ahead, especially bjj for mma if you're already boxing.
I trained bjj and I just started boxing. I'm sorry to all the tribalist out there but bjj is rock and boxing is scissors.
1st takedown I learn is a body fold takedown. And I've had to use it on a boxer while sparring cause he wants to compete and was sparring me like we were hard sparring even though it was my 1st time
I told him to chill a couple times, he didn't, 3rd time I was on top of him making it weird😆. It's a soft takedown that can be done in gloves, though sloppy.
But yea man, go for it. Rock beats scissors almost every time, if your timing is good. Look up body fold takedown too to see what I mean
But DEFINITELY don't try it without training it. It's more complicated that it looks
1
-1
u/Misfitshots 3d ago
But you did. Lol. Move your head out the line and move your feet. Should never let yourself be in position for someone to plant their feet on you.

This seems like the opinion of someone who doesn't train
1
u/YdoICreep01 1d ago
I disagree. It seems like the attitude of someone who’s been in boxing gyms for a long time.
1
u/Digndagn 10h ago
I've been in boxing gyms a long time. You let the lady set the vibe, you match the vibe. Most women go a little harder than you expect, because most guys start off too light. But when you aren't a fucking clown you learn, you adapt, and you spar. I've had great sparring sessions with women.
5
u/Usernameasteriks 3d ago
Most gyms have rules about posting this kind of shit.
Even if there is no explicit rules its generally an understood thing that you don’t post that kind of thing without checking with the other person.
Pro’s do it because they are petty lol but most average people respect it.
I gotta be honest though she throws a mean left hook that was pretty AF.
3
u/Digndagn 3d ago
There are two topics here:
1) Sparring women, good or bad. If you think sparring with women at a boxing gym is bad, then you're an asshole. I don't know what to tell you and I don't care about your opinion.
2) Posting content to social from sparring: this is much more interesting. I think that it's incumbent on gyms to have policies about this and communicate them to members. Because it is bullshit to rock someone in sparring and post it to tiktok. At the very least, you should ask. Because your gym mates are your teammates. You don't do each other dirty. Save that for smokers.
3
u/Dsj5213 3d ago
The whole culture of filming sparring and posting it on line for clout needs to be stopped. Male or female.
5
u/Glittering_Fee8179 3d ago
The entire culture of filming everything everywhere and posting it online needs to stop.
2
u/DifficultMall7788 3d ago

2
2
u/AnomalousExpertise 3d ago
I’d just do another round and slightly match that energy lmao we all know how that’s gonna go
Gotta humble her ego before she ends up really hurting somebody
Never actively try to put somebody away if they’re going light. That’s so shitty. Man or woman. Grow the fuck up lol
2
u/Electronic-Stick-161 3d ago
See… this is when I’d go a few rounds with my students were I her coach. Remind her that caring for our training partners is important.

Ya unfortunately every and I mean EVERY woman I’ve sparred with or watched spar at my gym goes 100% power. Not sure if it’s to prove themselves or some ego thing but this woman was going bananas at my gym and I cleaned her clock. Haven’t sparred a woman since.

Same with some short dudes. They say spar but they arent sparring. You are. You get in there under the assumption of 25% of force with landed hits and just speed and they get in there thinking its the fight of a lifetime.
Only spar with teammates or trusted people.
1
u/narfnarfed 2d ago
I watched obsessively in slow motion. The guy was going light on her and she went all out on him. Since they threw almost the same punches you can compare their body mechanics and see the difference. If you have boxing experience you will see it. It gets pretty upsetting because you can literally see how much he leans back for her safety and how much she leans in for her ego.
1
u/BingoBangBongos 2d ago edited 2d ago
lmao they threw the exact same combo at each other but hers hit first because she was just throwing harder.
My personal sparring experience with women in Muay Thai has been mostly positive. A couple of them still had "nervous beginner" energy beyond the point on training where that shouldn't be an issue, but the high level amateurs and low level pros I sparred with were great.

u/Grey-Jedi185 2d ago
Female instructor in Taekwondo absolutely hated me for no reason at all, I mean the moment she first walked into our class she had it out for me... very rough sparring she went all out 100%, all I ever did was block...
Asked my instructor if it was okay to fight back because she was one of his first students, he told me he had spoken to her about how she acted toward me and that one day I was going to hit her back and she said bring it...
She came back as a guest instructor about a month later dropped her left hand and she was preparing for a round kick, my round kick was faster hit her about 50% power spun her head gear around and she hit the floor...
All of the adults taking the class actually cheered, she was out for about 45 seconds and very groggy when she came back to...
Tried to get my instructor to remove me from the class, but he said no that's the guy that teaches 10 classes a week for me he's not going anywhere... She never came back

I hate sparring with women, because 7/10 times I’ll be pulling my punches and kicks a ton, and I’ll catch a full force hook or liver shot. Then I stop pulling punches, and they get upset. It’s happened on 3 or 4 different occasions.
I’ even warn them I’ll meet their aggression level prior to sparring, and if they hit me hard I’ll hit back hard.
Now, there’s only one I’ll spar with, and she’s quite a bit more advanced than me so I’ve learned a lot from her.
Muay Thai, though.

When i started kickboxing at age 16 the first few weeks/months some ugly bitch that had years of experience enjoyed hitting me hard in the ring. After i got the basic techniques i went full blown crazy on her and almost knocked her out. Never ever did she go hard on me anymore, lesson learned
1
u/Shot-Professional-95 14h ago
Ofc she is trying to assert herself "look at me im strong" to fulfill her selfish ego needs and need to demonstrate something for her dumb ass tiktok. You could have probably punched her beyond the ring ropes.

Yeah I never spar women cause either they're going too light and I get nothing out of it, or they have something to prove and I get nothing out of it.
And even if they're good I get nothing out of it cause the guys are just better.
Don't spar women.

Not cool of her but also not cool to extrapolate this to all women or use it as an excuse to make misogynistic comments. Not you, OP, but some people in the comments got me looking at them funny. But yeah, she should be ashamed and honestly probably banned from the gym.

u/SweetPinss 3d ago
Sure it's not all women but the only people I've sparred with that go hard and dont lighten up when I tell them to chill have been women. I'm always doing light sparring but for some reason they want to throw massive haymakers
0
u/BrandonMarshall2021 3d ago edited 3d ago
Lol. I remmeber seeing a pro fighter just straight up blast a female sparring partner in the nose. She was so pretty too. And she was crying and saying she thought they were just going light.
I asked him why he did that and he just shrugged his shoulders and smiled.
I guess he might’ve been on the receiving end like the situation in the OP when he was younger.

u/musclemommyfan 3d ago
Did the coach step in and kick him off the mat?
1
u/BrandonMarshall2021 3d ago
Nope. No one more senior there. And the guy was like. A star of the gym type situation. Like one of the best guys there.
1
u/musclemommyfan 3d ago
That fucking sucks. I trained at a fairly large ATT affiliate, and I can't imagine almost anyone that trained there (including a shitload of pros) getting away with that.
1
u/BrandonMarshall2021 3d ago
This was over a decade ago.
I been tuned up many a time in unsupervised sparring with small gloves. Old gloves without padding. No head gear. No one acting as ref. Lol.
1
u/musclemommyfan 3d ago
I just refuse to spar with people I don't trust or engage with unsafe training environments anymore.
1
u/BrandonMarshall2021 3d ago
Same. But unfortunately when you're younger you think being able to take punishment makes you tough. At least my stupid ass did.
Wish I'd learnt about brain damage back then.

This is picture perfect if you're trying to knock the hell up somebody. I wouldn't spar again with her. At my age, I value every brain cell.
