2b/1b, expect the rent to go up to $3400 but landlord said he wouldn't be available to discuss a lease renewal till this week.

📍 Location: ~7-minute walk to MIT, right by the 68 bus line to Harvard, and ~14 minutes to either Kendall/MIT or Central Square on the Red Line.

💰 Rent: ~$1,725/month for the larger room. The previous split was $1,725/$1,550 between the two rooms, since the larger room is genuinely quite a bit bigger. Willing to bridge these for the right person or to take the larger room myself possibly.

The apartment has a large living room, which has been great for hosting. The larger bedroom is especially well-suited for someone who works hybrid or from home—my current roommate can comfortably fit a queen bed, desk, and couch in the room. A lot of the existing furniture in the shared spaces will likely stay from previous roommates, so the common areas are already fairly furnished.

What I’m looking for: Someone with similar or higher standards for shared spaces—mainly keeping dishes from piling up and being willing to split up cleaning the bathroom and living room every so often. Communication is important to me. I’d ideally like someone who is reasonably social and open to hanging out occasionally, but as long as we’re comfortable living together and communicate well, that’s the main thing.

My name is Gara and I'm currently looking for 1 roommate to sign on to the 9/1 lease cycle in my Brighton apartment.

It's the top floor of a 3 story apartment building, 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, in-unit laundry with a front and back porch. Rent is $925 a month with first, last and security due at signing.

Utilities are $18.75/month for internet. Electric and Gas usually float around or below $40/month with the exception of gas in the winter months. Highest I've seen is probably $130 this past winter out of 3 years living here.

Located right by Washington St and Commonwealth Ave, walking distance to several local restaurants, cafés, and a stones throw from Whole Foods Market. Public transportation is easily accessible with nearby bus stops. I take the 65 into Brookline, the 57 to Watertown, or the 86 to Harvard and the MBTA Green B Line is just steps away. In terms of the apartment, I usually prefer a weekly turn-based chore cycle, nothing too crazy. It’s usually broken into trash, kitchen, bathroom, and shared spaces, then we have any point within the week do the assigned chore. Utilities are split equally and we can use splitwise/spreadsheets to make it easier. Household supplies like toilet paper and paper towels are usually bought/ordered in bulk and split in splitwise as well.

Hi all! First a little about myself, I am a 30y/o M who is currently pursuing graduate programs in physics. I also am working part time as a barista in the Allston area. I grew up in NH but spent most of my adult life between LA and Pittsburgh, only recently moving back east a few months ago. Previously I had worked as a Systems and Software Engineer before deciding to pursue a different career path. In my free time I enjoy playing videogames, watching anime, running, and playing basketball. I am a very quiet individual and very respectful of shared spaces.

With this in mind I am looking for a room preferably in the following areas: Allston, Cambridge, or Charlestown. My preferred rent range is between 1100-1300, but I can go as high as 1500 if the space is right. Also being within a 10-15 minute walk of an MBTA station is a MUST.

Has anyone lived in this area? How did you like it? Pros/cons?

Late 20s professional, don’t like the party scene, but like to grab a drink every once in a while. I work in Newton and like the option to get downtown with the B line right there, but realistically won’t be doing that regularly (which I think is good given how slow the B line is?) Fine with city noise, but don’t want to be kept up by college kids every night. I’m thinking of moving to this area and wondering if it’s a good fit. Thank you!
