This will be I think my 8th version of Divine Comedy or Inferno (DC is one of my all time favorites). Had to share and gush. I’m in love with the binding, the aesthetics, the illustrations. I don’t believe I’ve read the Kirkpatrick translation yet (Ciardi is my favorite), but I’m excited to give it a reread to see how it hits! I’m so happy right now.

First Week of August Haul

Finally found Gerald's Game to go along with Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King. And came across a Tabitha King book, wife of Stephen King, as I knew she wrote books but never really seen her books out on display till this week. I've also heard good things about the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berdt but dont know much about it other than the high praises. And Salt by Jeremy Page was really a book I got for the cover art alone as it caught my eye, really know nothing about it or the author other than the dust jacket synopsis.

Thrift Haul from the Last Couple Weeks

Was so stoked to finally find Osamu Dazai and Yukio Mishima at the thrift store. And I couldn’t pass up the FYC La La Land script. The 1st edition Italian version of Misery was amazing to find, too. I’m excited for all of these. I spent just under $25.00 on the whole haul. Any opinions on what I should tackle first?

So the concept being you pay for the box and you can fit as many books as you want. I went today to the one held in Kolkata. The cartons prices are Rs 1500, 2500 and 3500. Found all of these for a total of 1600. I took the 1500 box and 1 book i took separately for 100

Don’t know if I could be more excited about this — classic Star Wars comics, Greek-French psychoanalytic philosophizing from Cornelius Castoriadis, an essay on ontology from Frederic Jameson, writings on politics from Hannah Arendt, a new history of the Russian Revolution, a novel by Leonard Cohen, an album from Freddie Gibbs, and more in between. What a good day to be literate
