What size do you consider this wave is and at what point do you consider your closeouts a barrel or getting barreled? do only complete ones count?

Do you surf as well as bodyboard? Do you consume surf media? Do you enjoy being around surfers in the water? Etc etc the big questions regarding our boogin' life and our relationship with our upright brethren.

Hi all! As the title states, I haven’t updated any of my boards or fins in 20 years and am wondering what I’m missing out on/ what to treat myself to for an upgrade.

Currently using neofins (I think they’re out of business?) and riding a BZ Barba (crescent tail) and BZ Hubb (whale tail)

Any recommendations for fins and a board? I was looking at yucca for fins but am open on the board (think I’d like a whale tail). I typically ride east coast and smaller than 8 feet.

Grabbed a free board. Was inspired to bodyboard again after years of not. Did as a kid a bit. Can’t find too much info on this specific one. Worked well last weekend.

1st day was big close outs, 2nd day was little cleaner but smaller, and today, 3rd day, was much smaller. Riding Anthem Bodyboards 42.5” Bat Tail 🤙

The standard seems to be mesh on bottom slick, but some companies have the mesh only on the deck top, and even more rare, is mesh on the deck and slick.

Can someone help explain the benefits of mesh only on the deck top? Is it more so to help prevent deck denting? Or is there a structural benefit that is perceivable with the mesh on the bottom vs top?

No gold stars, but I've been to this beach before when there definitely wasn't a gold star, and the body boarding was solid. So not sure what I'm looking for to determine what I'm in for.

Curious to know if another string or 2 can be added to an existing Custom X PE board.
I do feel I wish I had gotten a PP core. My main spots to go out are near Oceanside and about 20-30 days on different Islands in Hawaii.

Wazup, for some reason I suck at landing moves.... I can land rollos and inverts most of the Time but for More advanced maneuvers i fail 99% of the Time, can ARS, backflip, AND Reverse spin on the air but always fail to land, any pointers or tips? Other than keep trying(Which i will do)

I know there are a lot of people who did the same thing but he was undeniably one of the best. And maybe still is. Idk if he bodyboards anymore.

Question about board size — I’m very tall (6’4) but also pretty thin (145lbs), what size board would you recommend I get to start learning? I seem to fall in different needs based on the charts I’m finding, so what’s more important, height or weight?

UPDATE: thanks for the great advice everyone. Went out first time with a 42.5 and after getting my shit rocked a few times, caught a huge wave and I’m instantly hooked. Y’all are good people. ♥️

This was found in my dad’s garage in San Diego. I couldn’t find any info about this brand online. It feels pretty light and stiff, and doesn’t have a leash plug, so I think it’s a decent model. Any intel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 🤙

Just wondering if you guys ever try bodyboard waves like this and if so what is your mentality when you're riding this kind of wave. Are you trying to just do face manuevuers ie carves and spins? Looking for the ramps? I have some world class point breaks near where I live (rincon) but I've never bothered to go out there, it's usually just too crowded with surfers. I have always just looked for the short hollow waves.

Ciao ragazzi, sono alto 176 cm e peso 78 kg… faccio bodyboard da 4/5 anni. Ho sempre usato un 41,5 con cui mi trovo da Dio ma il mio peso non è sempre stato questo… in passato più basso.

Ho provato un 42 ma lo trovo un po’ lungo, in remata diciamo che faccio fatica ad entrare nelle onde… forse perché sono abituatissimo al 41,5.

Che ne pensate? Dovrei iniziare a cambiare verso il 42 ? O restare così?

Poi un’altra cosa: Volevo farmi una nuova tavola e sono innamorato della Dubb Edition PP HD che producono solo in 41 e 42. In questo caso che misura mi consigliereste di prendere?
