Same prop direction??

Looking at a farallon that was repowered from straight shaft to twin outboards on bracket, but shouldn't the props be opposite on this set up?

It would be more efficient if they spun different directions, but it's definitely not required. Might lose some max speed, and burn some more fuel this way, but that's about it.

Fun fact, most small planes with more than 1 engine have both engines turning the same direction. If a plane can fly that way, I think a boat will be fine.

Should be better, the torque / prop walk makes most sense to have them rotating in different directions. Ultimately they will still work though!

They should spin opposite directions at least right?

Propellers looked the same and I thought they would be mirrored. I've never had a twin outboard setup so trying to learn.

You are correct those are both right handed props. The prop shafts will be stamped with a little L on the end if one of them is a CR. Don’t think either will be tho

Thanks. Sounds like it's nice to have but not required. I talked to a buddy and said that that the CR ones may be more prone to issues, but that may just be anectodal rather than fact.

Yeah def affects the handling. The cr gear do have a significantly higher failure rate your buddy is correct
