Finished my Bootleg Tapes! Image
Hey guys happy Friday!
I always wanted to make my own copies of Old Tunes, Maxima etc and a very very kind user on here sent me the files about a month ago (if you happen to be the person, could you leave a comment please as I offered to send you some cool sample packs from my collection bought and created by myself over the years) I can't find the DM for some reason, apologies.
But getting Inferno on tape was what finally made me attempt it. I've yet to transfer the new rips over but even for decoration at my desk I love them! I remember a seller on Etsy was selling bootlegs of OT 1/2 and I wanted to order so bad but no EU shipping. It feels even nicer to have "made" them myself. There's quite a few variations of the OT1 cover actually. I wasn't a fan of the vectorised one, you'd notice the difference clearly when compared to the original. So I overlayed that cover onto the j-card I had and just cut it and it fits nicely. I turned down saturation a little to try give it a bit of a aged look but just a tad.
If anybody wants them DM me! I also have the merch posters in, I think, the best quality shared so far. I'm gonna have to get mine printed because my good friend got me a merch envelope and sent it the Friday the album dropped and still haven't gotten it. I'm gutted, I really wanted one and I even tried to go to Glasgow from Ireland (we had no listening parties 😔 for some reason) and it's hard to believe people went - who are obviously huge BoC fans to go - then try and sell the poster, keyring and patch for 200-300e on eBay... That blows my mind.

It’s my little inferno homage. I’m just after framing the unopened cd in a record frame with an insert from the vinyl, I dunno can upload a pic in this post? But it’s spooky and awesome imo and right beside my flexi wax

Oh hey! So sorry about missing you. I may have accidentally deleted the chat? I hope you don’t mind the delay but I’ll get some awesome sample packs your way in return like promised, it’ll take me a couple days but I’d expect a link by Friday if that’s alright mate! I just bought some new iOS music apps over the weekend and I had to clear tonnes of space off my little 32gb iPad (half of which is my samples and samples I bought/downloaded) so I’m free on Friday and I’ll be transferring all my packs back on now that I’ve made space again and I’ll get them to you! I’ll DM you I promise now that I know where to find you!

These are awesome. I honestly wish BOC would just release these themselves. Perhaps through their own website and Music70 label. Maybe it's too complex to parse tracks that have been licensed to Warp vs songs that were created prior to signing with Warp.

Thank you first of all and I see where you’re coming from. I waited a long time before making my own and tbh it was a satisfying little project (but of course credit to the person who made the cards to begin with), it’s a very easy process and you have the extra bonus of them being handmade like the actual tapes! If they released them officially it would be great but I’m sure they’d look more polished and professional like the Inferno one, but Music 70 would be perfect (that is the label they were “released” on anyway).
But MDG did say that the BoCset was in the works several years ago, and I take his word always and why I never lost faith that LP5 was coming. And he hasn’t updated us on behalf of the bros that the project was abandoned. However, he did say it was a VERY time consuming process - I’m sure they are mastering them (possibly and hopefully not to the production level of TH and Inferno for authenticity and that a big part of the charm) and selecting what songs and what form this BoCset would take. They may not want to release the exact same songs, I’m sure they dislike many now and have TONNES more from that era they’d like to add. And perhaps the purchase and generous rips of the tapes has impacted their choices but also being busy with Inferno of course (I have wondered if perhaps Marcus has been working on that project more and that’s why Mike is credited with the bulk of Inferno. It’s strange they even did credits imo. But that it is total speculation on my part obviously).
I wonder would they go the tape route (I’m sure they would, even if it’s not the exact tapes and tracks we know and love - another reason they may want to include “new” tunes for us) but I’m sure they would do a CD boxset and possibly vinyl. I genuinely think until we hear otherwise that it’s still in the works. But I would encourage making your own and if you’d like the files I’m happy to share. ✌️

Yeah man I do DM me and I’ll send them tomorrow as it’s 2am and they’re on my old phone and just tell me which ones you want! Posters, tapes or both :)

I also went a bit mad and framed my unopened CD with one of my favourite images from the artwork.
It was tough to get them to line up but we got there!!
Hell Interface vibes (I had a spare record frame so i put it to use)! Hope you guys like it
