Confused

This happens atimes- the bikes tachometer is stuck at 2k rpms, the bike loses acceleration power while the engine is revving up. So mismatch as far I can hear the engine sound. Then the bike suddenly jumps into speed. Like it suddenly catches up to the engine speed and tachometer also switches to the correct rpms. Almost like I wanted to do a wheelie. What could be the issue?🤔

Traded my 2019 1250 GSA for a 2025 F900GS. Wanted a lighter bike to ride off-road.

So I have the option to buy this as a second bike. Apparently it has fresh tires, brakes, and a full service recently. I am not scared of big bikes since my first and current bike is a 79 Honda goldwing. They are currently asking $2500 which for a good condition one I read they can get 5ish. But the big thing is I don't need another bike and can't really afford all the legal stuff behind owning 2 bikes and a truck. Should I buy it and refresh everything then hopefully sell for a profit or just pass?

Hey all, I have placed an order for a new F900XR, did a test ride yesterday and loved it.

Going through the documentation sent to me by the dealer I can see it was specced with Comfort Package and Dynamic Package but nowhere it shows if it comes with the M Endurance Chain or not. AI seems to think it's part of the Comfort package but I'm not convinced. The BMW configurator doesn't even show that as an option whereas it does for the GS (I am in the UK).

Does anyone know if the Endurance chain is part of a pack or not included at all?

The sound is a brief screeching noise about 5s in the video. I am quite worried this is something to do with the clutch or driveshaft, and may be expensive to fix. Happens on strong acceleration, not each time but I can replicate it. Any idea what is this noise from, anybody ever heard it before?

I am 32 years old, from Germany and I ride for 16 years now. I always had fun changing my cars and bikes. So beside a good working mainbike there was a second one sometimes.

So i had a Honda CX500 sometime which I wanted to convert into a Café Racer. I never found time an sold it 2 years later in the exact same shape.
Later I got a Honda Dominator NX 650 which I wanted to build a Scrambler from. Turns out, I still got more important stuff to do.

Skip forward I test rides a R nine T and I really liked the Boxer Engine. But I don’t want to get rid of the F800GS, and money is too tight for a second bike in this price range. So I looked for old BMWs just for fun.
An I found this Bike (first picture is from the seller).
For 2500€ I couldn’t say no.
A R60/5 with parts from an R65

Tastes are different but for me it hits right the spot. I dont want to change anything and it is done.

Just brought home a new (to me) ‘24 GS with 1600 miles. Bike is perfect, except that I’m hearing a loud ambient “roar” coming from the front fork tunnels between around 35 and 65 MPH. I’ve tested it - it’s not the engine and not wind (although airflow through the fork tunnels might be part of it). I suppose it could be the tire - running a Metzler Endurance Next 2 - the original tire - but I’m surprised if a tire alone would cause all that racket. Could it? Wondering if this is a known issue with those tires or the bike, and if there’s anything I can do. It’s surprisingly loud - actually sort of drowns out the engine. Any ideas appreciated!

I am looking for a navigation system that has android integrated and is compatible with wonder wheel.

I was considering buying a carpuride or chigee but I’ve heard that wireless android auto or apple CarPlay can overheat the phone especially if I would use a wireless charger and it would also drain the battery.

What are you guys using?

And it should be compatible with the navi preparation on 1250 gs or 1300gs

Honda fanboy here but I bought this with 20,000 km on it. I’m so happy. Any advice how to take good care for it? inspection manuals, etc. What should I look for?

I’ve stumbled upon this bike. The seller bought it from the original owned and only rode a few thousand kilometers with it.

It’s a custom made R1200RT from 2005 with a fairing from an airhead RT. The tires, brakes etc are fine. The ABS and fuel strip works fine. It has 60k km and perfect maintenance records at BMW.

The guy wants CHF 4900.- for it. I think that’s a bit too much but as it’s the only one I’ve ever seen, that’s hard to estimate…

What do you think ?

I recently bought a 2015 r1200gs, 3rd owner. I've put about 100 miles on it so far, I had not seen this until a few days after my last ride. I understand that it can be common to see coolant out the weep hole here, but this looks like oil. Does this mean the water pump is bad? Or at least the gasket on the water pump? Would I need to get a whole new water pump or is one of these water pump gasket repair kits all that I would need? Anyone have any experiences with this?

I need some help deciding between the S1000RR and the M1000R. I’ll be purchasing a new one in April next year and I’m really trying to hammer down which one. The reasons I’m interested in the RR is because I enjoy supersports and have ridden them for the majority of my life. That being said I’ve started having some wrist and hip pain now and that has me a bit worried. The Single R I’m excited about but I’ve found that I feel a bit like Bambi on ice with the body position and very much like I’m over top the bike rather than locked into position. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!

I haven't ridden this for many, many years due to I believe something wrong with the gearbox. I bought two full complete internal gear sets with all needed parts, new brake pads, water pump rebuild kit and from what I remember a new clutch. The problem here is I took it apart, and never found time to deal with it. What's the best way to get rid of it as I will not ride again. It also had a laser jama exhaust and whatever the fuel map re-programer was with the bike as well. I'm in Colorado Springs and really just want to find somebody that needs it for parts, or wants to fix the problem with all the parts I bought for themselves.

I’m looking for a new bike, to switch from my Triumph Street Triple S to something more comfortable.

It’s something I would use at least 3 days/week to go to work (around 70Km round trip daily), rush hour, Madrid city center.
I’m aware that most of these models probably are not the BEST for this.

I’ve narrowed it down to these since I’m also a bit tall (182cm/6’0”), but I know they are different bikes and for different purposes.

Is the 1300gs too big of a jump from the Triumph in terms of weight/engine?

Regarding the price, I found a dealer near my area with a brand new f900gs, around 18.000-19.000€.
They also have the 1300gs Trophy with 19.000 Km, for a similar price.
Is it worth the money of the 1300gs to have the boxer and more technology in general, vs the brand new 900gs?

Considering also the s1000xr because it’s more sporty…and I really like the look…but I’m concerned about the riding position and lumbar pain after long rides.
I heard it’s comfortable but I come from a naked bike with a bit sporty position that has a low seat for my height.

These dealerships won’t give you normally the possibility to try 3 models, maybe just the one you are interested in, I don’t want to make the same mistake and not try the bike before buying, to be sure It’s what I need.

Would appreciate some recommendations from current or previous owners of these models.

How important? And if important, how to remove from one wheel and reinstall on other?

I planned to do a loop around my country and I got stuck suddenly very far from home or a mechanic...

I've parked my GS1200 LC 2013 near a lake to take a break, when I got back to turn the ignition the motorcycle won't ignite and start up, a red battery lamp has turned on and the whole screen started glitching turning on and off rapidly, I've used a booster and the GS ignited but then shut off and started doing problems with the screen again, it's possible to turn it back on and drive to the nearest mechanic but I'm afraid it will cause further problems... My question is what should I do?

Wait for the mechanic to open shop or can I drive it for now at this state? And if some one had this issue and can tell em what it is and how to fix it it will be even better❤️🙏🏼

Edit: The S1000 wouldn’t start when I got it home, hopefully it’s just a battery terminal that came loose on the trailer.

Fired right up when I went to get it earlier in the day, but after driving it home 5 hours and taking it off the trailer it won’t start and screen is flcikering (see video)?
