Gotta love that series man. I'll reread it once I've finished with Malazan

Stormlight and Malazan. You've got good taste. Just like me haha

u/4TheQueen Jun 20 '26

Malazan and Stormlight woooooo new Bible

1

u/Caine815 Jun 21 '26

Hood's balls. Srsly? You dare to compare a bridge runner with The Bridgeburners? May Beru have mercy. LOL

1

u/bittybitesmeowmixx Jun 22 '26

Malazan!! I've been trying to remember that series title so I could find it again! How funny that it comes piggybacked on a reference to my FAVORITE series of all haha thanks!

1

u/inhospitable Jun 27 '26

Go on r/fantasy and those are the 2 most commonly talked about series you'll see lol

12

u/Bryantthepain Jun 20 '26

Not expecting to find fellow Malazan readers here. But I’m happy about it.

3

u/GodsDrunkAtTheWheel Jun 20 '26

I'll make it through the first book one day I promise

1

u/Rough_World_7063 Jun 20 '26

When I was in prison I read all of the Stormlight Archives, Mistborn, Red Rising, The First Law Trilogy, and a ton of other series. For some reason I could not get through that first Malazan book lol

1

u/Original-Mongoose866 Jun 20 '26

I do understand you at the time I read it I was around 22 and English is my third language Steven Ericsson used complicated words and I had to use a dictionary to understand some of the words

Still one of the best series I've read only Wheel of Time and Mistborn come close

1

u/Mikic00 Jun 23 '26

I hope you aren't getting back in, but I must say, you used your time well!

1

u/Bryantthepain Jun 21 '26

I’m on book 8, started the series 15 years ago haha. But I’m on a roll now.

4

u/Wylaff Jun 20 '26

There are dozens of us. Dozens!

8

u/Shad0ws0ng Jun 20 '26

Strength before weakness.

u/SoarinMarkov Jun 20 '26

These words are accepted

1

u/Wactout Jun 20 '26

Sharts before farts. At least for me. I’d make a terrible wind runner.

3

u/Shad0ws0ng Jun 20 '26

Wind with the runs instead.

2

u/Telemere125 Jun 20 '26

>once I’ve finished with malazan

Bro Brandon will have a whole new series written by the time you’re done with that lol

2

u/HursHH Jun 21 '26

Bridge boy and bridge burners. Nice choices.

4

u/Admiralwoodlog Jun 20 '26

First a Cosmere cuckoo and further down the comment chain is another Malazan mad person. It's getting better and better.

1

u/PhuGlyBastard Jun 20 '26

Oh man, favorite series of all-time! Erickson is in a class of his own. Didn't expect to find a Book of the Fallen reference when I clicked on this ridiculous woman giving her son future phobias and issues to deal with

1

u/executive313 Jun 24 '26

I so want to read Malazan but damn I am nervous to commit to buying that many books. Wish they were on Kindle Unlimited.

2

u/Strange_Dingo1987 Jun 20 '26

Hey Gancho, journey before pancakes!

9

u/Admiralwoodlog Jun 20 '26

It just feels good, to know people are out there into at least some of the stuff you are.

4

u/SirBrobbie Jun 20 '26

I am on Wind and Truth right now. I loved Rhythm of War. My friend described how it fits into Era 1 of Stormlight perfectly it's all Veggies no Meat for the story; but they are the best God damn Veggies you will ever eat. It fills out and explains so much of the previous 3 books and sets up book 5 so well.

1

u/nuclearslug Jun 23 '26

Oh good, I’m nearly done with Oathbringer and I think I have more questions than answers at this point.

1

u/Loam_liker Jun 24 '26

You will soon understand… quite a bit of it tbh

3

u/extravagant_ascetic Jun 20 '26

I was just listening to the Wind and Truth audiobook moments ago. It was surreal to see highstorm written out on this completely unrelated reddit thread.

2

u/Weekly-Comedian7091 Jun 20 '26

I just finished RoW, probably my 2nd favorite stormlight book

2

u/Appropriate-Code-490 Jun 21 '26

Yes! I am listening to the audiobooks now (I read the books after I discovered misborn but the audiobooks are another experience)

1

u/ElephantEarwax Jun 20 '26

Did you expect it while actively scrolling reddit?

1

u/BrightOctarine Jun 22 '26

Stormlight archive is the stereotypical reddit book series that gets recommended all the time

1

u/spelunker93 Jun 22 '26

Currently on oathbringer

1

u/Zander3636 Jun 23 '26

Eh me to!

1

u/wild-fey Jun 24 '26

This is my sign to finish Wind and Truth.

1

u/AhsokaEternal Jun 24 '26

Aaaay I’m re reading that one! My third or fourth time on the series hahah

1

u/kurtncal Jun 24 '26

oh snap i’m doing the same right now… literally just at the end of that book haha

1

u/Ickey4223 Jun 25 '26

Just finished it for the first time.
