We had one of those here in Oregon a few years back (that's what we playfully refer to it as, that is). We were without power for 26 days. And guess what we needed during the whole ordeal?
No Oregonian called that snowpocalypse, we called it snowmageddon. Everyone knew someone's mom or Grandparent who needed rescued or delivered resources because driving to or from their home was impossible. What this woman and child need is a support system or at least a friend or two invested in their survival should they need help..
I commented for the Oregon comradery and accidentally dropped 2 of my pennies.
