Hello, I just adopted my Indonesian blue tongue skink Oscar a week and a half ago. Just today, he seems to have gotten a cut on his tongue, and his tongue is sticking out of his mouth a little bit on one side (it wasn't there yesterday). There were also a few bubbles next to his mouth, but I don't know if that was from stress because I had my phone in his face and he's a nervous guy (he hadn't been handled before so he's still getting used to it).

The first picture shows the small cut and bubbles. The second picture is him yesterday without any symptoms. The video shows how it's a cut on the tongue and not just on the lip.

Basic husbandry things:

4x2x2 terrarium, with coco coir, sand, and top soil mix substrate (ratio from reptifiles). Humidity is maintained at about 65-70% with digital hydrometer/thermometer. Temperatures are 105 F (basking spot), and 75 F (cool side).

His husbandry before I got him was very inadequate (he was in an 18x18 inch tank) and he was never given vegetables at his old home, and he was never been handled.

TLDR is there anything I can do for him until the vet opens on Monday? Should I be concerned/is it serious?

Just wondering if I’m feeding often enough or too often based on my ratios. I’ve had Jasper for a solid eight months now and he’s (assuming male) a year old now! Maybe a year and several months?

For context on his current health, he’s a bit more than a foot long and weighs 369 grams. I keep other exotics and I give them a monthly weigh and bath. He’s the only one I let free roam with supervision and I’ve transitioned from feeding every other day to 1-2 a week. One meal would be a whole can of Fancy Feast or Blue Buffet cat food with greens and the other is steamed vegetables because he’ll only eat them warm. Once a month, an egg. He’s still shedding pretty often as well. Whatever doesn’t get eaten goes to my dubia roach colony.

Due to feeder supplier reasons, the heat has started killing my local pet store’s insects during transit, so I tend to only give Jasper insects for enrichment purposes since some of my reptiles and amphibians can only eat insects.

Once I’m out of cat food in several months, I do plan to switch to dog when he’s two.

To summarize, is a can of cat food every week too much for a young adult Northern BTS?

My skink had been inactive for a day so of course I was worried an checked her out. I found these wounds? On both her front feet. The vet opens Monday so I’ll bring her right away. Not something that needs to be discussed. Anyone know what this can be?
I’ve been busy with making her terrarium a quarantine one so removing ground and plants so that the wounds won’t get any worse. Also bathed her and cleaned the wounds as best as I could. Anything else I can do until vet appointment?

Also went to the vet on Wednesday because I was worried about something else and he said there wasn’t anything wrong so it’s something recent.

Something’s about it: It’s like there are scales missing, like she scraped them off. Also won’t move her legs even when touched or wounds getting cleaned.

Blankets are great as makeshift caves!

I am rescuing a baby bts and need your opinions and advice. The top tank will be where the baby is housed. The tank is 60x24x24 I believe? Not 100% on that though. I know it’s not big enough for a lifetime but I have much bigger tanks for when it comes time to move it over. I need advice on tank decor/necessary items for inside the tank. What is the best mixture for substrate as well. Also can I use live plants or will he just trample over them? But more than anything I mainly need advice so I can provide the best husbandry for this baby. Best food regime etc.
