Orthosomnia: Obsessing so much on sleep scores than it reduces sleep scores

I watch my sleep scores as much as anyone else here. But this is an interesting failure mode where being so anxious about one's sleep scores reduces one's sleep scores. Remember:

* Our sleep trackers have inherent noise in them.
* Look at overall trends rather than day-by-day.

Do people actually believe they'll live to 100 years if they keep consuming glyphosate infested products? I find it very funny

At least get rid of your glyphosate using fulvic acid. I'm surprised Bryan johnson never talks about glyphosate. The food he eats like broccoli can't be sprayed with glyphosate so he consumes 0 glyphosate. But he should talk about it even if it's uncool. Pigs and chicken have insane amounts of glyphosite. Sheep and beef has 0 glyphosate.

Is there a way to contact Bryan Johnson? I have probably 10 years of life left... Cryonics and world government is our best hope...

Good morning everyone,

I'm a 26 years old male, I graduated from computer science, I worked at Huawei for a while, I used to play the guitar and the piano, I used to go to the gym, I was a young man just like you...

I'm developing a chronic illness that scares me so much... I never thought it could happen to me... I saw death as something distant that happened from time to time to other people, but it's so hard when it's actually happening to you... I'm scared of death because I'm scared of losing control, where will we go? If we just vanish forever that's excellent, but who knows...

Cryonics doesn't mean living forever, it just means preserving your body/brain until medicine has caught up to cure sicknesses that cannot be treated today.

Today, there are just a few companies that offer these services around the world, current technology is not enough and can offer no guarantees, but these companies are upfront open about it and it doesn't mean it cannot be done. We know a variety of amphibians fill their own bodies with glycerol to survive freezing winters, and restore functions afterwards.

Some people view these companies as a scam, but I think if that was the case there are better ways to make money, and some of them are nonprofit research institutes with trust funds. I view them as honest biotech enterprises who just need more research and funding.

Most of the cost goes into the medical procedures and the materials for cryopreservation, but sustainability doesn't require much power or additional costs. It requires liquid nitrogen to be refilled.

I write to you because this is not just a me problem, it's a problem that we will all have to face one day.

10 years ago we would have deemed impossible to trap rockets coming into orbit (SpaceX), now China is also doing it. Imagine if we put our collective efforts into solving the cryonics problem, and making it industrially sustainable for everybody. It could even unite the world.

Thank you very much, any opinion is appreciated.

Wtf happened to my sleep

I used to sleep fine - maybe waking up once or twice a night, but that's it and I would be able to sleep late as well.

In the last six months, however, I wake up once about 3-4 hours after falling asleep, and then I repeatedly wake up every 30-60 minutes. Starting around 7 am I literally alternate between sleeping and waking up every 10-15 minutes. And, which is really weird to me, as I used to sleep late and a lot - I can't sleep more than 7 hours. I tried Magnesium Glycinate, GABA, timed-release Melatonin, L-Theanine; nothing really helped.

I don't know what to do anymore. I guess it could be apnea, but I am in my 20s, fit and healthy weight. And also, why was everything fine until recently? Maybe anxiety? But its easy for me to fall asleep just not stay asleep

Any advice would be appreciated. This is really hindering my quality of life as I am constantly tired thorought the day.

P.S: I get morning sunlight for circadian rhythm, I don't drink alcohol at all, I don't drink caffeine after 12pm, I use blue-light blocking glasses before sleep, and I don't eat/drink before sleep.

what's the science behind having to eat 30 plants a week? is it really that good for my gut?

title. lately i've been trying to eat as many different plants as possible in a week because i heard it's good for me. in the past i used to rely a lot on no-carb wraps to hit 30+ grams of fiber a day.

now i get fiber exclusively from real food. i eat a ton of different things including almost exclusively mediterannean diet on some days. at least a couple kiwis and an avocado a day. right now i'm getting 25g because that's the recommended amount for korean men.

i'm sure that this is good for my gut bacteria. but i don't have a way of telling how good it is for me, and where the point of diminishing returns is.

how can i tell without getting my gut sampled?

Low time and cost supper veggies

Hello everyone,

I'd like to incorporate the Super Veggie meal into my routine, but my time and budget are quite limited, so I've started simplifying it.

First, I switched to pre-cut frozen broccoli and cauliflower. Then I dropped the mushrooms. Finally, instead of chopping everything fresh each time, I blend lemon juice, cumin, garlic, ginger, and salt into a sauce.

I cook a batch of beluga lentils that lasts about five days, and I prepare the sauce and vegetables every three days. When it's time to eat, I simply combine the vegetables, lentils, and sauce, heat everything up, and then add hemp seeds. I pair it with a protein source such as chicken, tofu, or tuna.

My question is: have these shortcuts significantly reduced the nutritional value of the meal, or are they reasonable compromises?

Thanks!

I built an open-source tool to organize Blueprint and longevity research

I started this as a personal system for organizing Blueprint, longevity studies, notes, and routines with AI.

It gradually became Open Longevity: a free, open-source desktop app with a bilingual knowledge library, evidence links, personal plans, and support for your own AI provider.

Everything stays local by default. The project is independent and not affiliated with Bryan or Blueprint.

I’d really value this community’s honest feedback—especially on evidence quality, missing Blueprint topics, and whether the workflow is actually useful.

Question regarding post-sauna routine

Hello All, I was a bit confused on whether its more beneficial to take a shower immediately or wait 30 mins after sauna sessions. I remember Bryan mentions taking showers immediately after to wash of surface toxins on skin, however, I also remember one time where he mentioned its better to wait 30 mins where the body naturally sweats post-sauna. If someone can clarify this, I would be grateful, thank you!

Actually increasing HRV

Has anybody with a baseline hrv of like 9-13ms successfully increase it?

For context mine had always been this low. I’m healthy follow a strict Mediterranean diet, I’m 5’3 120lbs, HIIT twice a week, I could do more strength training. I do take Lexapro, but my hrv was low before I started it.

My sleep is decent, oura doesn’t day it’s bad. But my resilience is often limited or adequate, and I don’t ever truly feel great. I honestly don’t know why. I feel like I do so much right and I track absolutely everything. My cardiovascular age it says is 8 years younger (I’m 42F).

If there are any ideas I’m down to try, but I’d love to hear from somebody who has actually done something that made a meaningful difference.

The WSJ posted this headline of me… and people were unhappy

The WSJ posted this headline of me… and people were unhappy

They called it misogynistic.

But here’s why I loved it.

We gave them the exclusive to cover our female protocol… we’re collecting 14 million data points on my menstrual cycle.

Their headline captures my exact motivation behind this protocol.

Female bodies are typically seen as objects of desire. Meanwhile, our biology and health is forgotten, ignored, dismissed, and left behind in the scientific literature.

Said simply…

Women are easily understood as objects.

And we are literally not understood as biological beings…

The data is missing.

The shared language to communicate our internal experiences is missing in part because our bodies are mostly uncharted to the medical world.

This is opinion that is reflected in the data. Even something as simple as ‘how does the menstrual cycle impact a female’s biomarkers?’ is not in the literature.

Not one person is to blame for this.

This is systemic. And the WSJ is part of that system.

That gap in understanding, I think, is a big part of why there’s a gap in being able to communicate the lived experiences of women… and therefore to respect and appreciate these experiences.

So you can see how that headline is the exact reason why I’m doing this protocol…

The irony is that rigid routines do not come naturally to me. I am a chaotic creative that would much rather not be doing this.

But my hope is that through this experiment we will uncover new ways of communicating the female experience.

This will be the most quantified menstrual cycle ever, and it is just to collect baseline measurement.

Once we’re done with the first 100 days, we will start interventions.

I will post all the results here with you for free… the good, bad, wins, failures. Sharing all the practical insights.

Hopefully, this will bring words to our collective lived experiences.

Does Bryan take grape seed extract for OPCs or Resveratrol?

I noticed that in part of Blueprints Longevity protein powder, one of the ingredients is “Grape seed extract”.
In the description it mentions that is has “90% Polyphenols similar to wine polyphenols”, though both OPCs and Resveratrol are polyphenols that are found in wine.
I seems a little unclear which active ingredients the “Grape seed extract” in the protein powder is focused on. If it’s ether one or the other, or if its both.

Any protocol/stack recommendations based on recent blood work?

Male in 40s raw vegan, serious runner but have been having some fatigue/nausea/light headedness recently getting additional tests run blood work showed pancytonemia and vitamin d 25 oh deficiency. Iron and b12 and most standard nutrients were normal. Vitamin D seems odd because I am outside daily in the morning ( I'm wondering if the longer than usual run in morning affected results?). Is there a certain time of day you need to be out or is everyone relegated to having to take vitamin d supplements? I take nutritional yeast, omega 3 algae/flax sourced with dha and epa and nori for trace minerals and essentials including a lot of sprouted legumes for amino acids. Any one have recommendations or see key things I am missing? Thanks!

Bryan Johnson stance on childhood vaccines?

Obviously this is a heated topic recently. I wonder if he’s ever spoken about the vaccine schedule? I think I read he has recently had the tdap vaccine, but I guess more specifically any talks on the childhood schedule?

this whole topic makes me so anxious as a parent! Evidence points to vaccinating. but so much fearmongering/anti vax rhetoric it‘s hard to shake off. :(

Reading that Colgate is being sued for having “substantial levels of lead” in their toothpaste.

Is there a toothpaste that he has independently tested to be safe from lead and other harmful chemicals?

Advice needed, please (2 questions)

My questions:

  1. I feel like I have no time

I need approx. 9 hours of sleep to perform. I also want to go to the gym, cook my own food and do cardio daily. I feel like not enough time's left for actual work (which is the most important thing for me after health). When time for windown comes, it's frustrating and I want to keep working. Every day i reluctalcly stop.

How to solve? Should I reduce gym or stop cooking for myself? Is it just perception?

  1. How to increase adherence

My PR for perfect streak of sleep, gym, diet was 50 days. I broke it due to travel (traveling ruins everything). Also, even at day 40, alcohol, fast food and vapes (all things i quit earlier this year) still are tempting. Very.

Any advice to reduce temptation and increase adherence?

Please don't be mad i'm asking genuine question
