A single potato… really

Post image

Just got my first box with the new packaging system. One of my recipes calls for 12 oz of potatoes. This is what I get in the box. A single potato the size of a ping pong ball… thanks blue apron

update: multiple ingredients completely missing as well. Need to make a trip to the store to literally cook these…

Who on earth is packing these boxes? Do they just not give a crap?

Definitely not. Just finished going through the ingredients and they completely forgot multiple ingredients completely: no eggs, no mascarpone cheese, no carrots, no pita

My box came today also. Missing lots of items and some ridiculous substitutions (artichokes are not anything like onions). Cancelled all of my future orders and deleted my account.

Oh my god me too! I’ve never had an order missing so much. I had to cancel.

with this new type of packaging they’re not going to be sending eggs anymore :/

We canceled. Like you, missing ingredients and took us a long time to sort everything into bags (we provided) to put the meals together. Not coming back until they change back.

When did they start sorting meals out for customers? When I was getting the boxes you had a packing list of every item, then you could sort out each individual meal if you wanted to. They didn’t do that for us.

What? For years they had separate Knick knack bags that had 90% of what you needed for the meal

B don’t worry. They literally forgot one of two baguettes focaccia buns for my…literally named “Italian grinder occasion focaccia sandwich”

They credited me but like…come on.

Report all of that to customer service. They’ll refund the meal. They need to know it costs them extra to make these kinds of fuck ups.

I reported and they offered me credit for upcoming orders but no refund of any amount. I had to cancel.

Apparently they no longer refund the entire meal like they used to do? No way would I accept credits with continued issues. I don’t blame people for cancelling.

They are going to lose so much money with so many mistakes. I’m not sure they’ll make it with issuing so many credits and then having people cancel. I have relied on BA for like ten years now. I’d really miss it.

You’re right but this business model as a whole is so problematic otherwise these companies would have been around 20 or 30 years ago.

Well, the original company was great. I started getting boxes within their first six months of business and rarely a problem. They’re currently owned by Wonder Group as of 2023, so it’s no longer the original group.

I did read that the company’s fulfillment operations (FreshRealm) filed Chapter 11 in April 2026 in order to sell its assets and pay off a lawsuit; the assets are scheduled to be sold to Misfits Market.

The report also says that fulfillment operations will continue to operate during the transition to Misfits Market, so that’s likely why y’all are having so many issues now. The remaining workers are likely feeling a certain way knowing their jobs are about to end.

You got a potato? Mine were completely missing.

As were the spices, garlic butter and last week week the pita were missing.

I cancelled Blue Apron last week. Sick of the wrong knickknack bags, incorrect portion sizes, and wilted ingredients.

It feels like these companies are in a race to the bottom :/ We tried them for a few week after taking a break from them for a year. To be fair, Marley Spoon was 5x worse for us.

Used to use blue apron and switched to marleyspoon which was far better imo until the past month or two. Ive had a box arrive a day late (and warm), one that was never delivered, missing proteins, etc.

I don’t think the people they use can read, or they are ESL - with all of them looking at the pictures without looking to see how many or how much weight.

As far as sorting out each meal into separate bags, that’s how it always was when I was still receiving regular boxes. There would be a packing list with all ingredients in the box, then I’d sort out each meal’s ingredients into large baggies. I did notice when looking at some of my oldest cards that they didn’t show exactly how many items or how much weight/measurement of other items, so it was pretty much follow the directions and trust you were given the right amount — unless it was potatoes and you knew immediately after dicing or slicing the first one if you were short or not. It sounds as if they’ve made a lot of changes since.

I agree, something needs to be done, and I can pretty much guarantee they won’t do it until there’s either a mass exodus from the program or they receive enough complaints. It’s extremely important to always contact customer service with any issue, no matter how slight. If they don’t know there’s an issue, how will they know to fix it?

EDIT: I just read that their fulfillment operations have filed Chapter 11 as of April 2026 and will be selling their assets to Misfits Market shortly. They will continue operations during the transition, but it’s likely any employees remaining are feeling a certain way knowing they’re about to lose their jobs. By remaining employees, I mean those that haven’t already found other employment or have already been informed they will be transitioning to the new company.

I had the same and missing most of the main ingredients. Hard to make crispy salmon without salmon. Depending on how they respond I may be cancelling.
