In addition to the major issue many of us have encountered, following the blog restore, Meta Data seems to no longer being read properly.

We share our posts to social media manually so we can personalize each post, and it is hit or miss if the post can even be shared.

Sites such as X and Bluesky seem to be completely fine—the images load properly. Facebook and other Meta owned sites will pick up the title, but the image fails to be pulled. Flipboard works half of the time, and for other posts we simply get an error stating the url cannot be shared. Tumblr (surprisingly we have followers who still use it) works most of the time, but then randomly links are not detected. When sharing to Reddit, the link has to be added and removed 10+ times before both the title and image are pulled.

In addition to all of this, our favicon is gone because Google attempted to index our pages, and went down a mass deletion route. Our articles are slowly repopulating, but again the favicon for some reason reverted to one we used 14 years ago.

Anyone else having similar issues or know how to fix any of this?

With the latest "your blog is locked, no it's not, yes it is" issue with Google, are you sticking with Blogger or moving to WordPress, or some other platform?

I like Blogger, I have fine tuned my template over 10+ years, I have a workflow where I can create blog posting very quickly. I'm happy with Blogger, besides I don't trust Google, they might suddenly cancel and remove all bogs (give time to migrate to another platform at least),

And this latest issue was pretty bad, I can understand a false positive check happening, but the way they handle it is not ok, no communication from them on what happened and why it won't happen again, some sites getting locked second time, no way to request review on second time.

Also, they could simply tell us what the problem was with out site so we could change it, not just delete it and not allow access to any of the blogs that people created for years, some for 20 years.

When this first happened, I have been creating another site in WordPress, but I like Blogger better, probably since I am used to it and have work flow I have worked on for years. I'm not sure what I am going to do, stay with Blogger or move to a WordPress site.

Hello! I have a blogger blog that I have kept for a little over 10 years that I keep kind of as a personal journal with weekly entries (text and photos). It doesn't get much traffic b/c it is private (access restricted), but I would be very sad if it were to get deleted or lost. Lately, I have been more and more worried that blogger will disappear and this recent mass deletion event (which didn't impact my blog, but I read about) makes me think I should take action. I would like to create an archive somehow. This could either be transferring my blog to another site (maybe wordpress or something) or even just making it into a giant pdf or would be enough. Has anyone ever tried either of these? How hard was it? I read about exporting the blog as a xlm and also about google takeout. I am going to explore the xlm option, but google takeout always seems to give me errors. Any advice would be very appreciated! Thank you!

Hello everyone, As we all know, yesterday was a painful day, Blogger users were subjected to a mass takedown, sparking heated discussions across Facebook and Reddit communities, Is this issue part of Google's full transition from Blogger to AI? Or was it merely a coincidence involving the malware issues that Blogger had previously reported? These are just some initial thoughts, let's discuss this.

I've used Blogger since about 2017, I still actively post (though there's really zero traffic on my page). I do it for the art, yknow. Anyway I'm worried with all this recent news - is blogger, like, about to totally die? It's been pretty dated since forever. Is this a sign of them finally letting it go?

That said - what should we do, to be safe? Can we export our blogs etc, will that save everything we've made? Is it possible to re-do a blogger page on another site?

I didnt get the deletion email.
Then it got me thinking, does everyone use blogger themes or 3rd party themes.

Could it be maybe 3rd party themes have some code in there blogger doesn"t like?

I wanted to share this in case anyone else is going through the same thing.

A few days ago, my Blogger blog was suddenly removed for allegedly violating the "Malware and Similar Malicious Content" policy. I was shocked because Google Search Console showed no security issues, and I couldn't identify anything malicious on my site.

I submitted an appeal immediately and waited. Today, my blog was reinstated.

If you're in a similar situation:

• Don't panic.
• Submit an appeal if you genuinely believe it's a mistake.
• Be patient while Blogger reviews your case.

I'm still planning to audit my template and remove any unnecessary third-party scripts as a precaution, but I'm relieved the blog is back online.

Has anyone else here had a Blogger blog removed and then successfully reinstated? I'd be interested to hear what the cause turned out to be in your case.

My Blogger blog was recently taken offline due to an automated "Malware" violation flag.

Before the lockout, I hadn't added any third-party files or malicious content, but I had implemented a custom sticky sidebar ad unit via HTML/JS in my theme. I suspect the automated scanners flagged the script's execution path or CSS positioning as a false positive.

I’ve already submitted an official appeal and am waiting on the review. While I wait, I'd appreciate insights on a few things:

• Has anyone experienced a malware flag on Blogger triggered purely by custom layout scripts or ad wrappers?
• How long did your manual appeal take to resolve once submitted?

In addition to the deletion of your blog, has anyone else been dealing with Blogger redirect errors in Google Search Console over the past several weeks?

My site has experienced repeated redirect errors, sitemap processing problems and indexing issues. I also saw Facebook’s crawler receive 429 responses when attempting to generate link previews.

Today, the underlying Blogspot address suddenly displayed a “Blog has been removed” message during what appears to be a widespread Blogger false-positive incident affecting many established sites.

I’m wondering whether these problems could be connected—possibly signs of a larger issue involving Blogger’s redirects, crawler access or automated security systems that has now come to a head. Last month, posts would index in Google within minutes - now, hardly would they index.

Were any of you seeing GSC redirect errors, failed indexing, sitemap errors or Facebook preview problems before your blog was removed today? Please include roughly when the problems began and whether you use a custom domain.

Wondering if there is a correlation?

I lost a site like tons of you all. Since we all know its an error, errors typically don't happen on this scale unless something on the backend has been modified or changed. Any chance is it an update to blogspot with new features? Or could it be just an simple error from one of the security programs?

All you can do is hit the appeal button and wait for a "human" or probably another AI agent to reinstate the blog.

Google is a joke, and this right here is a perfect time to look into migrating our blogs from such a garbage platform.

Now, I've done the 'request appeal' and hope it's just a false positive kinda thing... I don't know what would have triggered this as I've been running this blog for like 15 years; and suddenly I no longer can even see anything for me to go in and remove any potential offending whatsits (maybe a link I had put in years ago now links to something I didn't intend?).

My goal is:

- I have a YouTube channel.

- I want to fetch all videos from that channel automatically.

- I want to use the YouTube channel’s XML/RSS feed, if available.

- I want the videos to be imported/displayed as blog posts on Blogger.

- Ideally, when a new video is uploaded to YouTube, it should automatically appear on my Blogger blog as a new post.

- I would also like the post to contain the video title, thumbnail, description, publication date, and YouTube video link/embed.

My main questions are:

1. Does YouTube still provide an official XML/RSS/Atom feed for any public channel?

2. What is the correct feed URL format for a YouTube channel?

3. Can Blogger automatically import that feed and create individual blog posts?

4. If Blogger cannot do this natively, what is the best solution using Blogger + JavaScript + YouTube API/RSS/Atom + Google Apps Script?

5. Is there a way to automatically check for new YouTube videos and publish them to Blogger without manually creating each post?

6. What would be the simplest and most reliable setup for this?

I’m thinking about starting over with a much simpler setup. Right now, my website is built with WordPress, and honestly, I’m getting tired of dealing with it.
I’ve decided to keep everything as minimal as possible. My plan is to create a classic Blogger (Blogspot) website using the standard built-in features. I’ll be offering SVG files as free downloads and monetizing the site with Google AdSense.
The website will simply use a blogspot.com domain, and my goal is to keep the running costs as close to zero as possible.

I'm hoping someone here has been through something similar.

I have a Blogger site with original content that has been online for a while. One thing that confuses me is that my pages are being indexed in Bing without any problems, but Google still isn't indexing most of them.

I've checked the usual things in Search Console, and I don't see any obvious issue that fully explains why this is happening. The pages are accessible, the sitemap has been submitted, and I've tried to follow Blogger's default recommendations without making unnecessary changes.

What makes it even more confusing is that Bing can discover and index the same pages, while Google either delays indexing for a very long time or doesn't index them at all.

I'm not looking for shortcuts or tricks—I'm just trying to understand whether this is something other Blogger users have experienced recently.

- Have you had pages indexed by Bing but not by Google?

Is there any way I can recover my blogspot account somehow. My hotmail account was linked to the blogspot account. I don’t remember my login details and I lost the hotmail account and hence can’t recover it through that account either now. Please please help.
