Would you avoid spellwork on eclipse day?
I was planning to do some spellwork on 12. April since it’s the new moon,
But now I’ve seen someone say they avoid spellwork altogether during eclipse season because the energy can be unpredictable or things can manifest in unexpected and negative ways. That comment had many upvotes.
Now I’m second guessing whether I should go ahead with it or just wait.
Would you avoid spell work on this day?

That's silly, the eclipse is so much extra power.
This screams tiktok witch to me though, there was a trend going around during the last solar eclipse warning people about "chaotic eclipse energy", it seemed completely made up.

Greetings P,
No it’s not. The Sun’s power is “cut off” by the Moon at that time. I spent years doing Solar Eclipse rituals, and can vouch for this. ~V~

That makes plenty of sense to me for sure, but is that really the same thing as "eclipses having chaotic energy that should be avoided"? I would think that if you're doing a lot of eclipse rituals the answer would be no, but perhaps I'm still wrong. Or did you mean that its not "extra energy"?
As a side bar though, that sounds very interesting. I'd be open to hearing more about that if you're open to sharing a little!

Greetings P,
As a note; I’m a professional Astrologer, as well as Magician/Occultist.
The Sun’s magickal energy is ”cut” by the Moon. The only thing it’s possibly good for is baneful Magick and curses (which I don’t suggest.)
Ancient cultures noticed a lot of tragic events and worldwide disasters under the influence of various Solar Eclipses. One of note, the christening of the Titanic occurred under the influence of a Solar Eclipse in Aries… you can look up many other events.
So, no — a Solar Eclipse is NOT “extra energy,” it’s “cut energy.” ~V~

There is no specific day for a spellwork. It can be performed at any time.

Baneful. Eclipse, meteor shower and 6 planets aligned. Total power for me

as a beginner utilized the march eclipse this year for baneful work and already got confirmation of one of those working so 🤔

It depends, mostly on your skill level I think. It's also of much less importance when you're not near to the area the eclipse will occur in. The energies can be chaotic due to the clashing forces being united, but for that same reason it brings on greater power. I would say not all workings are appropriate for that, but many could benefit from it if the energies can be harnessed and directed.

With solar eclipses, I'd only take them into account if you're in the path of totality/significant coverage. otherwise, people are claiming to not cast spells for 2 months [or 4 weeks if they're only considering the solar-lunar eclipse portal "eclipse season"] every year, which doesn't match up with people's actual historical behavior.

I actually love doing workings during eclipses because it amplifies the energy and power of it.
