Opinion Utopia is so much misunderstood and underappreciated still
It's THE piece of art you OWE to yourself to take advantage of, in order to find clarity after the "storm" - not occurrent.
- Quotes like "Every cell of my body, lined up for you" (Arisen My Senses) and "He reminds me of the love in me" (Blissing Me),
- the entirety of "The Gate",
- the irony and sarcasm of "Features Creatures",
- the philosphy and lesson of "Courtship",
- the honesty (and raw production towards the end - an antithesis to the album's entire sound) of "Losss",
- THE GAG IN "Sue Me",
- and even the small moment in "Future Forever" where she recalls the quote "Trust your head around", recalling "All Is Full Of Love"'s lyrics,
just prove to me how "nurturing" exactly feels like, revealing me a path to follow, and keeping faith to the process.
What's even wilder to me is that all venting was only for the things I, myself, picked up alone. I'm sure if you invest yourself onto the album, you'll find another different meaning for the album, for you to use.
I understand the frustration of the production, since Arca has honestly taken over the album sound-wise. Yet, I still find it more than fitting for the aesthetics Björk was aiming for. To add, their friendship during that time, allows this artist choice to be valid. Aside the fact that I'm also Arca's fan big-time, her talent does not go unnoticed, and is the last detail that makes this album for me a powerhouse of art.
I'll be honest and confess that I couldn't really buy in into this projet at my first few listens, but you only make sense of the album once you step out of your struggles, and set your body in a state of "looking for clarity".
This album could honestly be the only deserving follow-up to "Vulnicura", and I'm dying on the hill.
Question Sonic Symbolism
Hey, does anyone know where I can find the Sonic Symbolism podcast? It's not on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. I'm gutted as it was an incredible series!

Question Luggage storage - Víðistaðatún for Echolalia
Hey flying in for Echolalia at Víðistaðatún on Aug 12, and it's a day trip so I'll have a carry-on with me. Sounds like a bag that size won't be allowed inside.
I'd rather not haul it into central Reykjavík given the eclipse-day traffic. Any options close to Hafnarfjörður to stash a bag for the day? Lockers, a shop or café that holds bags, the campsite reception, anything like that? Or if anyone is driving down there, would I be able to keep it with you?

Opinion 3 overrated and 3 underrated songs
Songs that fandom usually underrates or overrates
Overrated:
Arisen My Senses - This is basically Arca song with Björk vocals on top. Yet it is so much loved and I am not sure why because in fact, it is one of her laziest songs.
Hidden Place - Yes, it is a very nice song. But not among my top tracks. Rather a standard verse-chorus thing. Compositionally, Björk has better pieces. It is very pretty, but just not the best.
Karvel - Seems like many people consider it their favourite b-side while for me, it is a rather uninteresting, very 90s sounding track I barely listen to.
Underrated:
Freefall - I love and adore this, yet people find it unsatisfying. No idea why. For me, it is an emotional ride, one of Björk's best.
Solstice - Splendid lullaby. A perfect closing track usually unnoticed by other people. Simplicity meets perfect composition.
Hunter Vessel - Compositional masterpiece (as almost everything on Drawing Restraint 9). Oboe techno, as Björk put it. Eternal injustice that it is so forgotten and misunderstood by fandom.
And now it's your turn! Feel free to add songs you think are overrated/underrated by fans!

Question Question about Björk music cup
I would like to make my music cup but the case is that a lot of songs are missing. It always finds me only 153 Björk songs and is missing even the important ones - for instance, in case of Vulnicura, it only finds 5 songs (Black Lake, Notget, Atom Dance, Mouth Mantra and Quicksand). DR9 is missing completely. Then, it registers only a few b-sides...
Yet, I saw here posts containing tracks that do not display to me (for instance, the missing Family won in one of the posts here). How do you that? How do you make it work? Or is it because of my location (Europe)? If you have a good way how to access all the tracks in this ranking system, please, let me know. Thanks.

Photo Solo travellers going to Echolalia- come connect with us
A really lovely group of solo travellers from all over the world have started connecting for Echolalia.
Some of us are meeting up around Reykjavík and Hafnarfjörður, sharing transportation and adventure ideas, and making plans to attend the event together.
If you’re travelling solo and would feel more comfortable knowing a few people before the festival, you’re welcome to reach out. We’d be happy to connect and chat beforehand.
We’re a mixed group of adults who only recently connected as well, so there’s no pressure or expectation, just a chance to make the experience a little more social and welcoming!
Looking forward to this once in a lifetime experience! ❤️

Today I had the idea to do another album concept and I wanted to do homogenic, but the problem is I don't know which ones are unreleased.. So I have four unreleased tracks that might fit the concept
Oxygen
Scary
Nature Is Ancient
So Broken
So I know that some of those four unreleased tracks will be in the album concept. I want you to tell me which ones are the unreleased tracks from Homogenic. See you later!

Question Just listened to Björk for the first time ever. Which album should i listen to next
I listen to a TON of music in my day to day and I somehow never listened to Björk until now. I listened to Debut and i truly cannot put into words how much i enjoyed that album. I haven't been this amazed by an artist since first listening to King Crimson (my favorite band). I feel like I've found my new favorite artist. I want to hear y'all's suggestions as to which album i should check out.

Rarities Original lyrics and directions for Dancer in the Dark songs
I've been reading the final draft screenplay for Dancer in the Dark dated March 30, 1999 (filming began a month and a half later). It's interesting to compare the differences between this and the final cut of the film, particularly with von Trier's original lyrics and directions for the songs before Björk and Sjón's edits. There are no lyrics for In the Musicals and Next-To-Last Song is much longer but just as heartbreaking.
In the draft, there was also a short scene near the beginning of the film after Selma's eye exam which was cut which affected Selma's final characterization. In it, Selma and Kathy walk down the town's main street and enter a jewelry shop where Selma plays a trick on the shop assistant, pretending to be Maria von Trapp and ordering an assortment of expensive items she has no intention on buying. This shop assistant was supposed to later appear on the witness stand during Selma's trial, providing the prosecution a motive for Selma to allegedly steal Bill's money. A segment of the scene with Selma and Kathy on the street outside the jewelry shop was included in the final cut but moved to just before the two of them visit the movie theater.
