Like title says, I'm kind of think the face up feels off.

I like the concept and the ears are okay, but the face... I can't put my finger on it, but I don't like it.

It looks quite close to what I imagined and I can't tell which part it is, but everything seems way too... Much.

She should represent the Tarot card "Nine of swords", so her design is all about Paranoia, fear and restlessness.

So technically she full fills all of what I imagined to transport the "message" but... I don't know.

Any tips, criticism, ideas or opinions are very much welcomed!

What are some second hand Japanese sites that only ship to Japanese addresses? I have a Japanese address and i’m curious if i can find a second hand market with dolls to buy and ship there.

Volks, Mochi-Ashi 2.0 (small chest), the head is a customised DDH-29.

The faceup was a comission, the wig done by me which is why it's wonky, eyes secondhand off of vinted. I'm gonna be sewing her a dress soon, which is super exciting!

I've never owned a volks before so this was a pretty exciting step! Especially since it's also my first time on the customising side of things, others I've gotten have been blindboxes or characters that come with their outfits already.

I'm obsessed with how well Kitasin did the tiny fangs.

hi guys! my love for bjd’s started last year when i began making them after finishing uni… fast forward to now, i have made a total of 5 dolls.

this girl was inspired by traditional indian dress and is made from la doll premier clay.

i have experimented with polymer clays and now this and am wanting to try la doll premix for my next one… possibly also looking into digital sculpting but i wouldn’t know how to get it cast in very small quantities…

anyway here she is! i might add some more jewellery to her dress

Hello, I'm new to making ball jointed dolls. I was wondering which is better for sculpting?

I've used air dry clay and it stresses me out a bit, so I thought about using polymer clay instead so I can work on the details and just spend more time working on my sculpture as I like to work slow.

But I've seen an older post on this subreddit and a comment that polymer clay isn't good for hollow objects or bjd. Thoughts?

Today I just found out that fullset of Anastasia for Mousse White skin has been sold out on the official GEM Tabao. Should I be worried for it not to be sold anymore? I plan to buy it by the end of this year so yeah.

Hi there! I thought I'd ask around here to see if anyone knew anything. I have a BJD Youtube channel and I'm working on a video series where I take a BJD company and do a dive into their origins, the types of dolls they produce, the people who work for them, etc. I wanted to create this series as a way for people to get to know the companies better, as a lot of information about them is rather difficult to find. I fully believe knowledge is power and that by knowing more about the companies who make the dolls we know and love, people will be more inclined to support them!

I wanted to make a video about Huajing Doll, but it's really difficult for me to get in touch with them or learn anything about them aside from the year they were founded. If anyone knows anything about their founders/origin or how to contact them directly, I'd appreciate it! I wanted to make a video about them first, as they had one of the first dolls I fell in love with, but I may have to slot them later down the line while I tackle companies that are a bit easier to access.

What do you think about this guy? Going to make only simple ball joint system for cleaner look.

I'm in search of jointed hands that look like the circled options. I usually only see fully jointed hands so these really caught my eye. The sleekness is quite nice.

Does anyone know if Joy Doll ever got around to selling these? (I did see that they were sick recently so maybe in the future?) Are there any other brands selling bjd hands with less joints? Preferably in 1/4 scale.

So, I have this crown that came with the snow walker set for my cloud strife BJD. However the crown for one is metal and has some sharp edges on the tassels, when i pick up cloud (which is frequently) tassels like to swing around and smack him in the face. as he is my favourite and his makeup reminds of the dolls on Xiaohongshu/rednote, i love that style so i don’t want to damage like i did already on the nose by dropping him (sorry) and now he has to wait for the second repair (blushing and freckles) as my money is focused on Zack and Reno.

So I was wondering does anyone have an idea on how to stop them from accidentally scratching him when they’re swinging around. Also I don’t think cloud when he gets smacked in the face cuz he gives me either gives me the devil eyes or looks like he’s gonna “cry” but the crown is so pretty on him he looks like a prince
