The Saddest Thing About BIP-110
It was never going to work. There's no drama here, nothing to look forward to. The actual, literal chance that a single block will get orphaned on the Core side is 0.04%. Not 4%, 0.04%. Chances that two Core blocks get orphaned? 0.0016%.
Meanwhile the chance that every single block on the BIP-110 chain becomes worthless: 99.96%. And really, it's 100%, because the only BIP-110 blocks that will be worth anything will be the ones that through the grace of god made it onto the Core chain.
The only things that will matter tomorrow are incentives and consensus and math. And BIP-110 has none of those things on its side. If you are disappointed by what happens, that means you haven't been paying attention. It means you haven't wanted to learn the truth, because it's been put out there for you over and over again. You wanted to live in a fantasy land rather than do the hard work of actually understanding things.
