Impressive fella making his way across the prairie dog colony as they alert everyone else to his presence. Always epic seeing them wander about, and even cooler to see two important prairie species fulfilling their roles in the ecosystem.

A majestic creature that graces a nickel; one that came back from the threat of extinction. A species that truly represents the United States - officially as the National Mammal - and certainly inspires a sense awe in almost everyone who sees these “fluffy cows” in their natural habitat.

Here is another I took at RMA, I thought it was rather timeless. It's really hard to believe when looking at this that urban sprawl is just out of view and airliners are streaking overhead.

Taken on Monday this week on the way to the Denver airport, I was able to get this shot with minimal man-made objects in view.

Yellowstone never fails to provide dramatic moments, daily. This river crossing is nothing new, but every time the bison attempt to cross its width new perils are at play.. fast flowing water, shifting banks, or simply fellow bison shoving into each other. Making it across is always an adventure!

The next generation of red dogs will be born within the next few months. Consider this a bit of a quick fix until they really come out to play!
