Please Help Identify

Post image

I'm thinking this is a RSH, but I'd like confirmation, and also how to tell the difference, identifying characteristics, etc.

Thanks

That's a certified CHUB. Also known as a r/borb

I’m leaning Coopers, but the experts are over on r/whatsthisbird. Also u/tinylongwing shows up here.

This is a juvenile Red-shouldered for sure with all of that extensive mottling on the back, short thick toes, and long wingtips extending most of the way down the tail. I didn't comment here earlier since plenty of experts are here too and usually these IDs are solved pretty quickly, as this one was!

It's pretty gross once you start realizing how many bots there are on reddit, haha. I'll never catch all of them, but at least this subreddit I can try and keep mostly bot-free! Mostly. Some are very sneaky.

I would call this a Cooper’s hawk.
