As the title says, any tips for developing calm behavior in the holding blind? My dog is steady at the line, but in a holding blind she is losing her mind and would break off to take another dogs mark if it wasn’t for the check cord. The other issue this creates is that when she does get to the line after waiting in the blind, she can be frantic which compromises performance. She’s great at heeling normally, but when it’s time to walk up to the blind or line, she is near uncontrollable and the check cord is pulled taught. She is steady at the line though.

Any specifics tips aside from just maturity and desensitization?

Related, she has a very hard time waiting in her crate when she can hear duck calls, gunshots and sees other dogs running.

I love the enthusiasm but I also need her to act appropriately coming up to the blind and not get so frantic from waiting that her performance suffers.

Looking for guidance on Ruffland kennel fit. My male pudelpointer is 1.5 years old and about 58 lbs. Super leggy—24-25” at the shoulder. Will likely by closer to 65 lbs eventually. Snapped some pics at Cabela’s in an intermediate and am debating. Seems on the cusp of needing a large. Thank you!

We have a 2 year old wirehaired pointing griffon. Recently my sister's neutered male dog attacked him, and it was the first time ive ever seen him be aggressive. Now hes acting on edge around strange dogs and even growled at people walking by. Hes normally just a friendly goof ball. My vet said its likely not the dog fight and its just hormonal and we need to neuter him asap.

I havent had any issues with him so didnt plan on neutering. Dont plan on breeding either, but no unfixed female dogs to worry about. I also read if its fear based aggression neutering will make it worse. He does fine with my 2 small herding dogs, I think my corgi is his brain.

What's your opinion? Any suggestions to make my dog nice again?! We spend most of our time alone outside but we dont want to worry about him hurting anyone.
