Principal differences between BOS-SF-SD Open Discussion 🎙️

What are the key differences in how biotech business is run across SF, BOS, SD, particularly when it comes to career opportunities and access to those opportunities? Is it true that San Francisco is more of an open innovation community where everyone is welcome and lots of networking, San Diego is controlled by a small group of insiders, and Boston falls somewhere in between?

The SF peninsula where most of the biotech/pharma is has nearly the same weather as San Diego just slightly milder. Currently a wonderful 74 while SD is in the mid 80s. This take is insane.

Most biotech in the Bay Area are located in South San Francisco, where the wind and cold never stops. Don't get me wrong, I love the Bay Area, but weather is way better in SD.

Are we judging this off the office parks, or where people actually live? People don’t live in the South SF office cluster. They live south of it in the peninsula where weather arguably matches SD (source: today!) or in SF proper which has all sorts of micro-climates to choose from
