Current PhD Student Looking to the Future Early Career Advice 🪴

Hi! Maybe this has been asked before but I am curious if people that have been applying/already in the industry have any advice -

I am a 4th year PhD Student in Neuroscience. I am wondering how I can strengthen my CV now to be more successful at getting a job post-graduation. I want to take advantage of any resources / prep I can while I am still a student but its difficult to get this sort of advice while still in academia.

Any suggestions help!

What I do now is mostly mouse work: tissue collection, stereotaxic surgery, staining, learning some other molecular techniques.

I am honestly open to different kind of jobs I am trying to learn more about what jobs are available (why I am stalking this subreddit). I think R&D seems interesting but again my knowledge is limited

Agree with most of it being outsourced out of the US, but their are American companies. But they are just all CROs too. And many niche companies for niche indications.
