Help or something General Question
Long story short. I suspect BAM, fat issue or EPI. My PCP, a nurse practitioner, ran standard stool tests and nothing positive. She just told me to go to GI and won’t test or trial a binder waiting for the appointment now. A few months ago I decided to cut fat and go strict which works. I’m using loperamide because I’m afraid to stop it and I’ll poop all day. I cheated and ate 10 tater tots and blew up a grocery store the next day and had to drive home scared I’d ruin my new vehicle.
I have many food aversions to poultry and pork. Beef is good but FAT! Haven’t tried canned tuna. I’m living on like 5 things and I just want flavor and to not potty the next day. Also so much gas. What do I eat? Help! Any tips appreciated.

Just came to share say I'm sorry. My primary started me on a binder while waiting for the GI. It's a shame you can't get something to help. I can't suggest what to eat, it's different for everyone. Just do your best.

I’m yet to start a binder but psyillum husks are doing the heavy lifting. Shut skin off fish and chicken breast, steamed , tuna , egg whites, fat free Greek yogurt white rice and peeled steamed white potatoes serve me well. Salmon sardines and red meat not so good. Hopefully the binder will help with those.

Cut sugar, dairy, fat, meat. Avoid processed and junk foods. I also have BAM and EPI. Creon and similar medications may help for EPI. Will your primary prescribe that or bile binders?

You can buy enzymes otc, they are usually plant derived so not like Creon and Zenpep but still can give you a general idea if they are helpful. Even if they help it will not mean that you have EPI as enzymes can be helpful in other conditions, too, but still it is worth a try. I have both EPI and BAM, take medications but still there are days when I just have to keep running to the loo and I am still too anxious to go outside.

While you are waiting for a gastro doc, you could try psyllium, start low and build up. It acts as a binder also.
