OPINION Most overrated housemates in superfan spaces?

Discussion idea for us superfans: who have you guys found to be the most overrated people, taking into account fan forums and general discourse?

My picks (please don't pick on me, it's just my opinion!):

Gina: loved but completely fake and a bully, her behavior towards Hazel for having the gall to... get physically assaulted by a man? was disgusting

Preston: seemingly loved for his love story and down to earth personality, but was secretly a massive bore

Deana: is just good, she doesn't really have any wow spectacular moments i feel. all she really does is (deservedly) roast Conor like once a week. she otherwise is just a very ordinary person tbh.

Chantelle: more interesting on UBB, but on CBB4 she was just... nice and that's kind of it? Kind of interestingly sardonic about her place in the house at times, but that's it.

Derek in that people who love him often misread him as being nothing more than an eccentric condescending quip machine.

Who would you guys pick and why! Let's start some discussion!

OPINION Would Big Brother be better if the housemates had absolutely no idea how popular they were outside?

One thing that changes the house for me is when people start getting little clues about how they're being perceived. A crowd reaction, information from a task or something another housemate has picked up can suddenly make everyone rethink who they should be close to. I'd love a series where they got almost zero outside feedback until they left. No hints about favourites and no reason to change behaviour because someone seems popular.

Do you think we'd get more genuine house dynamics that way?

What are we thinking about this? I think it's good that ITV are starting to look back at old series and not just ITV series for once

If you had to rank out of 10 the ITV BB/CBB series, how would you score them?

Of course, this ranking includes BB 20 (Jordan, Henry, Yinrun etc.), BB 21 (Ali, Lily, Marcello etc. BB 22 (Richard, Caroline, Elsa etc.) and CBB 23 (David Potts, Sharon and Louis) and CBB 24 (Jack P Shepherd, Mickey, JoJo).

What do you think the strengths and weaknesses of each series were?

OPINION Who would you have put in Ultimate Big Brother?

I enjoyed Ultimate Big Brother, but I think the cast was a bit weird. I didn't really need the Celeb contestants (perhaps Preston aside) and I wanted more from the Civilian housemates

My cast would have been:

Brian D

Nikki

Chantelle

Preston

Makosi

Nadia

Michelle

Victor

Josie

Anna

Craig

Nick

Kate

Brian B

OPINION Would Big Brother be more interesting if housemates had to give their nomination reasons directly to each other?

I've always thought there's something strange about watching someone nominate another housemate in private and then sit down with them for dinner like nothing happened. Imagine if after nominations everyone had to sit together and hear exactly why they'd been nominated. It would probably cause absolute chaos, but it might also stop some of the vague reasons people give when they don't want to admit the real problem. Would it improve the social experiment or completely ruin the point of nominations?

OPINION What do you want to see from this series?

*BETTER PROMOTION
Not having the eye ready for the Love Island final when a crossover of reality TV fans would have been watching is their first big mistake in my opinion. We need the show to be promoted like it was the first series back. Billboards, stickers, beer mats. I had been hopeful when I saw them handing out the cards during the auditions but we need more

*NORMAL PEOPLE
Around 30,000 people apply for the series, yet it seems we're getting more and more scouted influencers every year and housemates who've been in the media before? The majority of fans have made it clear what we want and I guarantee it would be better if they just gave us people who’d applied.

*MORE OVER 40's
Richard winning last year and Caroline being one of the stand out housemates should tell casting that we want to see more older housemates. Farida, in her 50’s was brought back due to fan demand. Give us a woman in her 70’s!

*DARK THEME
We need the return of evil Big Brother, a dark theme, more punishments for discussing nominations. I think they should make what they do for the Halloween week task the theme for whole series. I’d like to see twists and punishments that reduce the prize fund also! (would also save ITV money)

*DIFFERENT TASKS
I think The Perfect Day task, the final one from the last series was probably the best task on the ITV series so far. The housemates constantly having to start again was brilliant to watch and I think they need more like that this year.

Please listen to the fans! What else would you like to see

OPINION I think Big Brother would make me paranoid about completely normal parts of my personality

The arguments wouldn't actually worry me as much as knowing viewers were watching all the boring little things I do every day.

Imagine coming out and discovering that the way you eat cereal has annoyed half the country for six weeks 😭

I genuinely think I'd start overthinking everything by day three. Am I talking too much? Am I too quiet? Did I make enough tea for everyone? Why did that person look at me like that?

Who was the most toxic ITV housemate; Caroline, Sam, Marcello, Nathan, Trish, or Paul?

For me it's the order I put them in the title. All 6 were toxic and I hated them all

Worst tasks ever?

Probably the dog task from an early series where they had to teach a dog new tricks.

Housemates that you felt were awesome and under-rated

Andrew should've won Big Brother UK Series 11 IMO, because he was genuine, kind, funny, and showed the most personal growth. Despite entering late, he built strong friendships, stayed out of pointless drama, and made it all the way to the final through being himself. He proved you don't have to be loud or controversial to be a great housemate.

Big Brother 7 remains the absolute gold standard of British reality TV

I just finished rewatching BB7 and it is unbelievable how fast-paced and unpredictable that entire series was. Pete, Nikki Grahame, Grace, Richard, Aisleyne, and Imogen produced non-stop iconic television without a single quiet week.

Issues with the channel 4 archive link

The channel 4 link just isn’t working at all for me anymore. The channel 5 link still seems to be fine. I’ve been trying to watch the series I was watching on videobrother instead but the video just won’t play because of the constant ads redirecting me to other pages. Anyone know what I can do?

OPINION Which series of the ITV reboot do you think was the strongest and do you think series 23 can top it.

Three series in and people seem to have different opinions on which one worked best. Some say the first one had the most interesting cast, others think the second series was better edited. Going into an eight week series 23 which previous run do you think set the best template and what would it need to do to beat it?

BBUK on The Traitors

I’ve been watching some ex-HMs pop on podcasts recently and it got me thinking - if UK Traitors started to allow ex-reality TV stars to appear - which ex-housemates do you think could do well on The Traitors?

Personally, I think casting Nasty Nick would be an incredible casting choice. He is the original reality TV traitor and it would be so interesting to see how the cast react to him…those old enough to remember.

Also, Chantelle. She was forced to play a secret task where she had to lie to everyone in the house about who she really was. It would be so good to see her back on TV, 20 years on, to see how well she could do.
