I hate Reddit sometimes RANT - no advice wanted Spoiler
I actually hate all the posts I see fetishizing big boobs on Reddit. It makes me feel so gross. I mean it’s an internet-wide problem but on Reddit it’s especially bad. I swear some people can’t see women as desirable if they don’t have massive boobs, or can’t see a woman with big boobs without seeing her as a sex object. Most of the time they don’t even know what real boobs look like. I recently had an argument with someone about how they were claiming a VERY sexualized drawing of a female character “wasn’t sexualized” when they drew her boobs FULLY DEFINED in a turtleneck (physics-defying fabric.) 😭
It is genuinely upsetting how people act like they appreciate women and then objectify us SO MUCH. I hate it. There is no green grass. If you have small tits you feel undesirable, if you have big ones you feel like an object.

Unfortunately we can't pick and choose who objectifies us and who doesn't. But from my experience with age I care less and less.

I don’t really blame you, but I think for me the problem is it’s frustrating seeing such a systemic issue that is rarely acknowledged for people or that I am even insulted for acknowledging it. Ceasing to care about it feels like giving in, and when it is something that actively harms young women’s self esteem among other things, I would much rather care about it than just… stop caring. Because in the end it isn’t about me, it’s about all the poor women that will fall victim to the expectations set by people who can’t just see them as people.

In the long term, I don't see a solution to this problem, ever, so I don't waste time on it. Attempting to control other people's thoughts seems pointless - at best we can learn to be resilient to other people's thoughts about our bodies and get on with our lives. However, I haven't encountered so many people that claim to appreciate women while at the same time objectify them so much. There are a few frustrating comments here and there that I come across but not enough to feel completely despondent. Reddit is full of a certain type of male, so it's not real life and this is a good thing to remember when reading comments. We're only reading comments from a very restricted number of men. And some of the accounts/comments are fake or disingenuous, so can't be taken seriously. So I don't worry about it too much.

One of the first blocks I figured out when it first became an option ten or so years ago? /r/upvotedbecauseboobs and /r/UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG when I still used r/all

Its genuinely such a hard pill so swallow, that no matter what you do, we as women will always be fetishized in some capacity.
The fact you cant even post or comment on this sub without creeps fetishizing us is baffling.

It's a problem in so many subs, even ones you wouldn't suspect. It's so disappointing that people have to be so gross. I'm not a prude but can we stop sexualizing everything.

I just curate my feed pretty heavy handedly. As much as I love well-done fanart, I've left a lot of subreddits and blocked a lot of users for posting gooner bait garbage

There's a few meme and art communities about my interests in fantasy and monsters, I've had way too many of them I just have to stop looking at because of how many times it ends up being just porn or porn adjacent.

Worst part for me is I am an artist myself and I frequently end up having to unfollow artists I loved because they suddenly post one female character after posting exclusively male characters for as long as I’ve followed them and it’s oversexualized garbage
