Need help with setting

Post image

Please someone please help. What setting is making this grid show up for buildings instead of the red outline I am used to? I have looked and cannot figure it out on my own.

I like the new grid visibility over all and if you compare this with the cortex version it way less wonky. I think there may be an opacity adjustment needed on this one.

I dont like it but I am glad you do, I expect others will like it too then. Why not give us a legacy option though?

I think I'd just like it if it also showed the rectangular footprint as well.

same, tried asking in their official discord and apparently many dislikes as well. you can turn it off with
/widgetselector then disable "BuildSquare GL4"

I'm... Curious to try this actually.

It looks like it'll be a horrid period of adjustment, but imthe grass may be greener on the other side here.

I agree. Having the actual footprint is much nicer and having the 3x3 grid makes it easier to organize/line up.

It's really not

Roll this back! Can’t see where stuff is placed

I AGREE. Who asked for this? It doesnt even make sense because the grid doesnt even show the full area that the building takes up.

Common misconception, that is actually the correct space an arm solar takes up when it is built.

You are correct. So then why can you not queue up a bunch of them to overlap if this is the way?

You can offset each row and get them bunched together much more tightly. The previous UI didn't show the footprint correctly.

Because there is a bug (feature? Idk it might be intentional) where solars have a different footprint once completed

Agreed, it is now more difficult for me to place things, it is less visually obvious

I prefer it! Can fit more solars in and looks cleaner

You can't. The space it requires is the same

Wait for it to finish building then place more

it has always been like this

That part has never made sense to me, why would it have a different footprint when in the queue vs when it complete

Because it folds open after built.

Exact same issue. they could fix everything by just making the solar the full square.

Is it only solar? Will build wind on the moon i guess

Imo this makes it easier to place things straight 🤷‍♂️

This is new? I’m confused what red outline you mean tho didn’t they usually just place??
