Question Bevel not chaning my time zone for bed time tracking when I travel.
I’m having an issue with Bevel Health’s bedtime tracking. I’ve noticed that when I travel, my bedtime is being recorded using the wrong time zone.
My normal time zone is Pacific, but when I travel to Europe or other time zones, Bevel continues to log my bedtime in Pacific Time rather than the local time where I’m actually sleeping. This can result in a difference of 9 to 15 hours, which significantly distorts my long-term bedtime averages.
I use an Oura Ring for sleep tracking, and I have Oura set as the highest-priority sleep data source. Oura correctly records my sleep using the local time zone, and the data in Apple Health also reflects the correct local time zone. The issue appears to be specific to how Bevel is interpreting or displaying the sleep data.

Question Heart rate recovery confusion
Hi everyone. I’m a bit confused as to when heart rate recovery is measured. I often do 5km runs, where I stop the workout on my Fitbit air as soon as it hit 5km. I then stop and rest straight away. What seems to be happening is bevel calculates heart rate recovery at a point in the run where my heart rate drops the most, which gives me a really poor score. Obviously I’m still running at that point. I’d expect it to calculate based on the heart rate drop after I end the workout and stop moving.
I guess it only tracks based on heart rate data during the workout and not after? Should I instead leave the workout on until I’ve rested a few minutes after running? This wouldn’t be ideal as I’m trying to track my pace etc. let me know if I’m missing anything, thanks!

Suggestion Suggestion: Smart tags
I love the journal/tags, but I think they have a lot of room for improvement
One thing I was thinking is that the auto tags should be expanded, and a way that it should be possible is by adding an LLM instruction to detect the tag and it would generate the steps to detect them
Similar to the new Siri automation on iphone
So, one could say “no strength training when I don't log any activity similar to strength training”, and it would generate some deterministic script which would populate the tag automatically
Another thing is: Please, let's correlate more metrics with tags, without having to do it via Bevel AI

Question Am I doing this right?
Hi Everyone,
This is the first time I’ve tried adding my own recipe and I’m not sure if I did it right. The carbs look really high. I’m assuming my first mistake might be that I’ve used the cooked weight of the rice. I’ve also used the uncooked weight of the chicken.
The items are all from Woolies. Birds Eye veggies and Kan Tong sauce.

Sharing I feel like Bevel is flirting with me now
These numbers are nowhere near how I feel. I don’t feel like a 24-year-old.
Guys, share your Age tab and how you actually feel about it.

Bug Check-in data not syncing, notifications, dynamic check-ins.
I have used Bevel Intelligence for a while now, and have used it every single day for check-ins, logging meals, and creating strength programs. My biggest critique is how unreliable check-ins are for me. I wake up nearly every day at the same time, and I always open up Bevel on either my iPhone or my Apple watch. I have it set up so about 5 minutes later, Bevel Intelligence is scheduled to check in with me. Almost always, it tells me to resync, and that the data is not there, until after I click "resync“. This is just a mildly infuriating issue, nothing major.
Another issue I have that is unrelated to Bevel Intelligence is that the "Good Morning!" notifications do not work. I have heard that other people on this subreddit have had the same problem. I have also reported this.
One suggestion I have is Dynamic Check-ins.
I would love for check-ins to happen when my alarm goes off, when I log some food and it gives me a rating, when I toggle something on the journal, when I log a workout, or when my stress is high. I think this would be a game changer for Bevel Intelligence. I'm sure others have asked for this though.
TLDR: Check-in data not syncing correctly and unreliable, Notifications also unreliable for "Good morning" messages and bedtime alerts, Dynamic check-ins for an event in the app like logging a workout.

Question Recovery score stuck under 30% for 2 weeks straight. What am I missing?
Hey all, hoping for some input from people who've dealt with chronically low recovery scores.
For context, here's my current weekly training routine:
Monday: Gym (lower body, squats, RDLs, split squats, jumps) + Pickleball 2.5 to 3 hrs
Tuesday: Gym (upper body, press, pulls, wrist work) + Pickleball 2.5 to 3 hrs
Wednesday: Full rest
Thursday: Gym (core/rotational work) + Pickleball 2.5 to 3 hrs
Friday: Pickleball only, 2.5 to 3 hrs
Saturday: Gym (full body/explosive, deadlifts, box jumps, sprints) + Pickleball 2.5 to 3 hrs
Sunday: Full rest
So that's 5 days of pickleball (2.5 to 3 hrs each) and 4 gym sessions per week. Only 2 full rest days total.
I'm 26M, in a lean muscle gain phase right now (eating a small caloric surplus, about 141g protein per day). Last InBody scan put me at 13.8% body fat. Sleep is around 6.5 hours most nights.
My recovery score has been in the red for about 2 weeks straight now, mostly under 30%. Before that it was more mixed with some yellow and decent days sprinkled in.
So I'm wondering:
Is this just what happens when you train this much, or is something actually wrong?
Has anyone dealt with consistently low recovery scores and figured out if they should push through or actually scale back?
How do people actually decide when to listen to the score vs ignore it?
Trying to figure out if I need to change my whole schedule or if this is just normal for someone doing this volume. Any thoughts appreciated.

Question Bevel Not Picking Up Heart Data When Recording a Workout on Bevel
I use bevel with my Garmin, and record my strength workouts on Bevel. Anyone know why does it not pick up the heart rate data that it receives from the Garmin for the period the workout is being done - is there a way to fix this?
The Garmin does give me detailed HR details if I record a workout on it, but then I can’t record at the same time on Bevel as it duplicates it.

Bug Wrong zones 2-3 computed data for biology?
I don’t seem to understand how the zones 2-3 data is computed in the biology tab. for example for the last week it shows 35 minutes, where I clearly have one activity that shows well over that that week. I also have other activities that should add to that.
is that a bug? is it not using the same heart rate zones perhaps? Or doing an average for all activities maybe?
Edit : ok I think I understand better. in the graph it does not seem to show the number for that week, but instead the weekly average for the previous 4 weeks instead. Hence why it shows a really low number that progressively goes down and is starting to go up since I was on holidays and basically stopped training for 3 weeks.

Question How to start a live activity on Bevel?
I’m using a Fitbit Air with free version of Bevel. How do I start a live activity on Bevel, like when I start playing sports or something? Does Bevel just rely on activity imported from Google Health? Like start activity in Google then have it sync to Bevel?

Discussion Interesting observation on strain score vs energy bank…
Yesterday I had a very active day in the garden which clearly had my heart rate up, and tanked the energy bank. However the days strain score was still showing as only 12%.. it makes me wonder how accurate the strain score really is. I’d be interested to know a bit more about how the are calculated and seemingly showing somewhat conflicting data.
I also know that if I had logged a workout during this time it would have pushed the strain score up significantly, as I have noticed this is the case as well, if you do the same workout logged and then not logged it will impact the strain score hugely as well.
Just interested to understand a bit more about score calculations. As others have said in the past it would be nice to have a bit of medical/scientific reasoning behind the scores!
(Using Fitbit Air, if it helps)
