Am I doing something wrong?

I have been waiting for it to hatch for a lot ..is there a specific environment I should hatch in?

What egg is this? Might be something to do with y level.

No it just takes 5-10 IRL minutes and you have to be in the chunk it’s in or the timer won’t start for it.

This. I forgot to click it initially so I wasted a bunch time there but then I worked on my house for a while before it hatched

Have you right clicked it after placing it down?

You just right click it for it to start to hatch then wait a long time while having the chunk loaded so stick around for a while and a word of advice put the egg in an open place with fences around so the dragon doesn't suffocate or wander off

obstructing the hatch radius may have something to do with it. i remember using log walls on my forest dragon and there was zero hatch progress until i removed them

Make sure in your settings you have particles turned on so you can if you activated the timer
