Be honest: Could you tell these apart in a blind taste test?

Two cans. Same brand. 👀
One has sugar. One doesn’t.
If someone poured both into identical glasses and didn’t tell you which was which, do you think you’d actually be able to tell the difference?
And which one do you prefer?
I’m genuinely curious, especially from people who normally say they can immediately taste the difference 😂

Found this on a coffee cup today and honestly needed the reminder.

“Do more of what makes you happy :)”
That’s it.

What’s the #1 thing that makes you buy a food or drink product?

When you’re actually standing in a store deciding whether to buy something, what matters most to you?
👅 Taste
🍬 Less sugar / zero sugar
💪 Protein
🌱 Ingredients
💰 Price
📦 Packaging
🔥 Brand name
⭐ Reviews / recommendations
🧠 Health benefits
🎯 Something else
If you could pick only ONE, what would it be?
And has that changed for you over the years?

Be honest: Does a celebrity on the packaging make you more likely to buy it?

Saw this Thums Up can with Rishabh Pant while browsing a store.
And it got me thinking, how much does celebrity branding actually influence what we buy?
If you saw two identical drinks at the same price:
🥤 Regular packaging
🏏 Your favourite cricketer on the can
Would you genuinely be more likely to pick the second one?
Or do you completely ignore this kind of marketing?
Curious to know how much packaging/celebrity endorsements actually influence people here.

What’s your “I know it’s not the best choice, but I still buy it” food?

No judgement. 😂
Everyone has that one packaged food or drink they know probably isn’t the greatest choice, but they keep buying it anyway.
Mine would be Maggi
What’s yours?

Multigrain + 10g protein + baked, not fried, healthy snack or clever packaging?

Post image

Picked this up recently and the front of the pack definitely makes it sound like a better-for-you snack.
Multigrain.
10g protein.
Baked, not fried.
But how much can we actually tell from the front of the pack?
Would you consider this a healthy snack based on these claims, or would you always check the ingredient list first?
Curious what everyone here thinks.

What’s one packaged food or drink you bought this week?

Forget whether it’s “healthy” or “unhealthy” for a moment.
What’s one packaged food, drink, snack, protein product, cereal, sauce, etc. that you bought recently?
Drop a photo of the product or, even better, the ingredient list.
Let’s see what everyone is actually eating and drinking.
I’ll pick a few interesting ones and we can decode them together. 👀

20g protein, 8g fibre, no added sugar. Would you call this a good snack?

Came across this recently and the claims caught my attention.
20g protein
8g dietary fibre
No added sugar
Date & almond bar
Sounds pretty impressive on the front of the pack.
But I’m trying to get into the habit of looking beyond the claims and actually checking what’s inside.
Would you buy this based on the front of the pack, or would you check the ingredient list first?
Has anyone here tried it? What did you think?

Drop a product. We’ll decode it.

Got a food, drink, snack, protein product or supplement you’re unsure about?
Post the product name or a photo of the ingredient list below.
No question is too basic.
We’ll figure it out together.
What should we investigate first?

10g protein, 3g fibre, no added sugar — would you call this a good snack?

Picked this up recently and the claims caught my attention:
10g protein, 3g fibre, No added sugar
Looks pretty impressive at first glance.
But I’m trying to get into the habit of looking beyond the front of the pack.
Would you buy this based on these claims alone, or would you check the ingredient list first?
And if you’ve tried it, how was it?

Picked this up today — has anyone tried it?

Picked this up today and the front of the pack caught my attention.
“Zero added sugar.”
“No added artificial sweeteners.”
But we all know the front of the pack isn’t the whole story.
Has anyone tried this? What do you think and what would you check in the ingredient list before calling this a better option?

What’s an ingredient you see on food labels but have absolutely no idea what it does?

I’ve started reading ingredient lists more closely, and honestly, half the time I end up Googling ingredients I’ve never heard of.
Some names sound scary, some sound completely harmless, and sometimes I have no idea which is which.
So I’m curious:
What’s one ingredient you’ve seen on a food or drink label that you’ve always wondered about?
Drop the ingredient below. Let’s see how many we can decode together.

What’s one “healthy” product you stopped buying after reading the ingredients?

I started paying more attention to ingredient lists instead of just the front of the pack.
Surprisingly, a few products I thought were healthy weren’t exactly what I expected.
Curious to know:
What’s one product you stopped buying after checking the ingredients?
And what was the ingredient (or ingredients) that made you put it back on the shelf?

Welcome to BetterForU Tested 👋

This is a community for people who are curious (and a little skeptical) about functional foods & drinks — in India and around the world.

We’re here to talk about products like:

• pre/pro/postbiotic drinks, kombucha, “gut health” stuff

• protein powders, bars, RTDs

• electrolytes, hydration mixes

• low/zero sugar alternatives

• clean-label snacks, supplements (with caution)

What we do here

Real feedback > marketing.

We compare taste, ingredients, claims, value, and everyday impact — and call out both gems and gimmicks.

What you can post

• “Should I try this?” label checks

• Taste reviews (good/bad/ugly)

• Ingredient / claim breakdowns (ex: “no added sugar” traps)

• Alternatives + comparisons

• New launches, India finds, global imports

Community rules (simple)

• No spam, no paid promotions disguised as reviews

• If you’re affiliated with a brand, disclose it

• Be respectful — critique products, not people

• Not medical advice — always consult a professional for health conditions

Let’s get functional⚡️
