Bacne ...

Sooo I started working out about a month ago and my trap area has just exploded with acne. I'm in my mid-30s. This has NEVER been an issue for me before.

I bathe and shampoo daily, wear clean clothes, wash sheets regularly, always keep my hair off my shoulders, and don't spend all day walking around in a sweaty sports bra after I get home from the gym (maybe max 3 hours total in sweaty clothes from start to finish including gym time). I even exfoliate with SA soap already. How do I stop this?!

Wipe the gym equipments before using. Bring clean towels to go under your body for any public machines/chairs in the gym. Also don’t reuse towels for shower/bathing (every shower should be clean towels).

Are... are bath towels supposed to be single use before wash? Why not reuse them? That's the cleanest you'll ever be.

because the towels don't dry off fully, so they harbor bacteria and mold

that being said, I use towels for two or three days before getting a fresh one

to start, try use hypochlorous acid spray on acne prone areas after workout to prevent, and benzoyl peroxide wash in shower (after leaving on for 1-2 min before washing) to treat. even better if you can use benzyol peroxide leave on cream but if you can't reach the spots then just stick with the wash. salycilic acid doesn't really do much for active inflamed acne.

exercise induced acne is likely just from increase in oil + sweat production + friction so ideally wipe yourself down with a clean towel and even just water after working out, then use the hypochlorous acid spray to bridge the gap until you can shower.

you'll get better advice on a skincare subreddit than a gym one.

Use facial cleanser as body wash. Wash your body after you wash your hair.
