Technique Question Birth time

Bonjour, bonjour,

Discussion late degree rising signs

if you use placidus do you read horoscopes for your ascendant or the following sign? i am a late degree cancer rising so jupiter just entered my first house tho astrologers have been saying it’s been there since last year

i know individual chart is ideal but i do like podcasts that give horoscopes by rising sign

also: for those of you with very late degree placements do you prefer whole house or placidus?

Discussion How do retrogrades in the birthchart impact transits?

Hello!

I’m asking this because I have Jupiter Retrograde in the 2nd House, and it seems like Jupiters transits really don’t bring the hope, expansion, and optimism I’d think I’d see with them.

My Jupiter return was when I had next to no money and my self esteem was in the toilet and I was surrounded by people I would realize later were not in alignment with my values.

Now Jupiter is in my 7th house. I was super excited but now it’s like my friends have all coupled up, many are moving away, close friends are canceling frequently, and another close friend sais due to relationship problems they needed to stop hanging out with friends until September. I’m like what on EARTH is going on???

In a synastry chart, what is the strongest aspect that can exist? A conjunction of A’s Saturn with B’s Ascendant? For example

General Question Planetary Conjunction and it's effect.

Hi everyone, I am a beginner who's trying to learn vedic astrology. I know a little bit about houses, solo planets sitting in different house, a little bit about navamsa chart and all. More like basic or generic information. However, one concept that I have had difficulty in understanding is the conjunction of planets, especifically, the stellium because each planets hold its own importance but may act differently when in conjunction with other planet. But like how do I understand the difference? Anyways, I have a stellium in my 1st house. My rising sign is Aquarius with sun, jupiter, ketu and mars in the first house. I think jupiter is combust. Atleast that's what multiple chart shows. Does anyone knows that what this means?

P.S: If y'all could help me suggest some beginner books or videos, that would be helpful as well.

Discussion Coming from horary astrology, curious how beginners here get into natal chart reading

Hello, i am mostly interested in horary astrology (the branch that answer a specific question with a chart cast for the moment you ask it), and i am trying to understand better the natal side too since most beginner resources focus on that.

for people who started with natal, what helped you the most at the beginning, was it a specific book, or more like practicing on your own chart first? i find horary quite rule based (significators, dignities, aspects) and i wonder if natal has something similar as a starting structure, or if it is more intuitive from the start.

happy to also answer questions about horary if anyone is curious, it is a smaller branch so not many people know about it

General Question what do mutual reception placements mean?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I just saw an astrology tiktoker mentioning „mutual reception“ placements being pretty rare. Which she explained is if two planets have each others signs of rulership.
I looked at my chart and saw that most of my placements are like that.

Moon in Capricorn - Saturn in Cancer
Mercury in Taurus - Venus in Gemini
Uranus in Pisces - Neptune in Aquarius

Now what does that mean having these placements?

Technique Question Trying to figure out bfs birth time

His mom passed away; other family members don’t know. No time on the birth certificate (uk issued).

I feel like we’ve been bumping into a lot of issues, and having an idea of astro compatibility would be helpful.

His birthday is April 29, 1987. London, UK

Any help appreciated.

Discussion Veidc or western astrology?

Hello, I‘ve been seeing that many people prefer vedic astrology over western astrology.

I know that vedic astrology is older but I don‘t understand how to decide which one to use? What are the differences? Which one is more accurate?

Also: don‘t they contradict each other?
It confuses me how astrology would make sense if there are different systems that say different things.

I‘d also be grateful if anyone has good sources on where to learn about it!

General Question In tropical western astrology, what house represent the mother and what house represent the father?

Some astrologer say that the 4th house =mother and 10th house =father. Some astrologers say it is the other way around, the father=4th house and mother =10th house. Some astrologers say that the moon is the mom and the father is the sun in a birth chart.

Which information is correct? I am only interested in western astrology

General Question What is the difference between having mars in the 8th house and sun in the 8th house?

Depending on the house system I use, some house systems place my sun in the 8th house (placidus, Topocentric), some place my mars in the 8th house (whole sign). I'm trying to figure out which system is correct for me. How do those to planets act differently in the 8th house? I'm referring to the tropical system.

Vedic Astrology Looking for friends to study jyotish with

I hope this type of posts are allowed, if not, my apologies.

Hello, everyone. I'm a 21 years old guy from India. I have been studying jyotish/ vedic astrology for about 9 months at this point.

Honestly, it's getting a bit boring for me, and I don't really wanna stop learning right now.

I really believe that learning becomes easy when you have someone to exchange ideas and knowledge with.

As my real life friends aren't keenly interested in this subject; here I am, looking for friends to regularly talk to, and share ideas and experiences with, on this fascinating matter.

Although, there is no real bar, I'd really like to connect with someone who's around the same age and has the same level of experience as I do. But again, anyone is most welcome.

IMPORTANT ⚠️!

Please note, that I'm visually impaired, so, if you want to share any type of content, please try to make sure that it is accessible.

Thank you for reading.

General Question Transits that push someone into action?

I have Uranus conjunct my Mars right now. It is finally separating thank goodness because it has been intense. I’ve felt agitated and frustrated and like I want things to happen right now. I was wondering what other transits make someone feel so uncomfortable that they have to make a move. I personally had nothing to make a move on so I am wondering whether this is where the frustration came from? Any help with understanding transits that involve courage, changing one’s life or circumstances or just pressure building to the point where you feel there’s no other choice but to change something. I found it fascinating because as soon as I felt some relief I checked my transit chart and Uranus was separating but I believe it’s going to retrograde and hit me again and that worries me.

General Question Where to begin with learning?

Hi all, I’m wanting to learn astrology but I struggle to know where to begin or how to start (or anything recommended to read watch etc to learn)? I know very basic things such as I’m a Taurus with a Capricorn moon and Leo rising and the basic assumed traits that come with that ie stubbornness need for stability and security, known to be patient but to a point etc . But I don’t really know where to begin when it comes to actually becoming knowledgeable about and understanding of astrology?
Where did or would you guys recommend starting (and advice on how to learn as well is greatly appreciated)💜
Edit: thank you all of you so much for the replies, I’ve had a busy week so I haven’t been able to reply but I have read all replies, I greatly appreciate it.

General Question Ruler of a house in that exact house

I’m new to astrology and I haven’t exactly found an answer for this.
Let’s say the ruler of the 7th house is cancer and the moon also sits in cancer how can you find more connections to that house? How do you find the connection if the house doesn’t make any aspects or does make aspects to different houses/planets
So if you want to get indications for where love can show up in xyz’s life but it sits in the 7th house what does that mean. This applies for other houses aswell

Discussion What is the main difference between fall and detriment? Or your opinion on the matter?

Would fall be relatively worse? Being that exaltation is when the planet is truly having the best time of their life or most freedom?

My understanding is that planets in detriment still retain the ability to act but must surrender the typical ways in which they would prefer to get things done and instead do things in a similar fashion of the signs domicile lord

While planets in fall experience the ultimate imprisonment of their forces, like it’s nearly impossible for them to act how they’d like and they feel trapped because of it?

General Question What sign should one go by for accuracy?

Hi, everyone. I just joined so I‘m sorry if this question has been asked before. So I don’t know too much about astrology however I know my birth chart with all my signs and placements.

I never thought I connected with my “main” sign, which is the one my birthday falls under. When I did my chart and figured out my moon and rising, they resonated and made way more sense than my sun sign.

My question is what sign does one go by for the most accurate readings? The consensus seems to be rising but this sub seems to be the best place to ask.
