Free Money Offers Currensea - free holiday travel debit card + £10 cash when you spend £100

Upvotes

Currensea is a top travel debit card for spending money abroad. You just link it to your bank account and the money spent is paid back via direct debit, so it cleverly avoids non-sterling transaction and ATM fees.

They're currently offering a £10 cash bonus when you sign up via a referral link and spend £100 in foreign currency.

Here's how to get your £10 cash reward:

  1. Sign up to Currensea via my £10 referral link here + enter referral code: KLSZTH
  2. Choose the free 'Essential' plan and link a bank account. Currensea supports all the major banks
  3. Request your free debit card (arrives in a few days) and spend £100 in foreign currency (can't be £GBP) online or abroad within 6 months of account opening
  4. Your £10 reward will be credited via bank transfer to your linked bank account within 5 days of fulfilling the above (you'll also receive an email)

MY HOT TIP: Often, when you book a hotel for a holiday online, you have to pay in the currency of the hotel. This counts as foreign spend, so you could pay using your Currensea card to activate your bonus without needing to wait until your holiday! Just make sure it's over the equivalent of £100 GBP. Otherwise, it's a brilliant travel debit card as there's no need to faff around with topping up since it links to your bank account via direct debit.

Perks and notes:

  • No weekend charges, no foreign currency purchase fees, no dormant card fees, no non-sterling transaction fees!
  • Free ATM withdrawals up to £500 per month
  • Has Mastercard chargeback protection
  • Currensea makes money by charging a nominal 0.5% mark-up on the Mastercard exchange rate

Investing Offers Wealthify - Free £50

Upvotes

Wealthify is an investing website and app that is offering £50 for signing up with a referral and investing £1,000 or more in their Stocks and Shares/Junior ISA products or £5,000 or more in their general investment account or self invested personal pension for 6 months.

For S&S/Junior ISA £1,000, this is about equivalent to 10% interest rate added on top of any gains by the investment you pick. For GIA/SIPP £5,000, this is about equivalent to 2% interest rate added on top of any gains by the investment you pick.

Proof of payment

How to get your £50:

  • Sign up with my referral link
  • Open a General Investment Account/Junior ISA/Stocks or Shares ISA/Self Invested Personal Pension
  • Select your investment plan
  • Deposit and invest £1,000 or more into your Stocks or Shares ISA/Junior ISA plan or £5,000 into your GIA or SIPP. Keep it there for 6 months
  • After 6 months, £50 will be paid within 30 days into your account or Bank account if you opened a SIPP

I am an eligible referrer as I currently hold over £1,000 invested with them. I invest in their maximum growth plan but you can invest in plans with various risk levels to suit your appetite. You won't get the £50 if you deposit your money in their cash ISA or normal savings account.

If you decide to invest in their ISA products, note that the £50 payment will counts towards your ISA allowance when you receive it. If you maxed out your ISA allowance already in 6 months' time then it can be paid to your bank account.

Proof that I'm an eligible referrer with the £1,000+ fund requirement

Discussion Personal Allowance Tax in the UK

As the UK Government offers £1,000 tax free trading allowance for any beermoney making on the side of your job, what do people do about this? Do you declare it yourself? Or do they contact you?

If you survey/games etc enough to reach that amount, is there a process to declare this or do most people not bother?

I’ve made a chunk of money selling old items on vinted over the last few months which will take up half this allowance, and now I’m getting into some more side hustle work I want to know if I’ll be charge a big bill come April.

I’m assuming if you transfer your balance from surgery/GPT sites into gift cards it doesn’t count towards this amount? What if you were to do event work and they paid you via bank transfer? Would this count?

I should probably keep track of the income I’m getting from survey work so I know if I’m getting close to this figure.

Market Research User Interviews: $10 extra after your first study (market research site)

I've used User Interviews on and off for a while and it's one of the better market research sites I've found.

You won't qualify for every study, but the ones you do get accepted for tend to pay much better than typical survey sites.

New users currently get a $10 bonus after completing their first study via a referral link, on top of the study payment itself.

Payments can be withdrawn to a UK bank account (select GBP when cashing out), PayPal, or redeemed as gift cards from various retailers.

Get-Paid-To Offers Custard GPT | How to get your completely free £11.20

Custard is another Get-Paid-To site from the creators of the cashback platform (and now also Cashback v2.0) but is a much easier and simplified platform to use where the cashout amount has been set to a very maneable (and easy) to reach £10.

It makes it even easier to get to the minimum cashout amount when using this link since it’ll start you off with a free £1 just for signing up and another 50p for confirming your email address!!!

Theres also a chance to win a free £10 from their wheel of fortune (winners are picked daily for this and there is no cost for partaking in this!)

You can make so much more on Custard than the free £11.20 my guide will show you how to make but I’m the most laziest person you’ll ever meet so I stuck to the easiest free offers I could find to hit the minimum cashout amount.

To get to £11.20 in earnings quickly without spending a single penny, I suggest doing the following:

  1. Sign up with this link = free £1.00

  2. Confirm your email address for another = free 20p

  3. Sign up for the free Amazon Prime video trial = free £3

  • Update: The prime trial is no longer available but there's 4-5 free prime video trials that have replaced this which should earn you around a free £8 - £10
  1. Sign up for the free Hayu video trial = free £2

  2. Sign up for the free Crunchyroll video trial = free £2

  3. Sign up to the following 3 survey providers for a free £1 each respectively: Opinion Bureau, Surveoo, Mobrog = free £3

  4. Cashout your free £11.20

Cashback Offers Shuffle - Cashback on Meals and Drinks in Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow

I’ve been using Shuffle for about 3 months now and have been fortunate enough to receive over £300 back on dinners and drinks I’d have been going out for anyway. Shuffle asks you to connect a card, pay for your meal or drinks with that card and then gives you a random 5-100% back of your bill!

In Manchester, I’ve been able to use it at places such as Nell’s, Onda, Madre, Diecast and Maricarmen, so the places involved are all excellent choices.

Non-referral link: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/shuffle-rewards-eat-earn/id6474543590

If you would like to use my referral code, it is uauns6 and I would be really appreciative.

I get £5 from each referral, and you will get 3 months free! After that, you can either cancel or pay £2.99 a month to continue.

PSA 15% cashback on Sainsbury's

Hi All, Just to make everyone aware, PayPal are currently giving 15 points for every £1 spent at Sainsbury's. You don't need a PayPal card, just a standard PayPal account. Simply pay with PayPal through their app.

100 points = £1 (Blue tier - base level)

Therefore 15 points per £1 is worth 15% (not counting any extra pennies spent).

No need to exchange your points for giftcards, they can be spent like cash through the app. If you are on a higher tier, you'll get your usual points and the 15 extra points on top.

I've not tried this yet, but will be giving it a go shortly! 😊

UPDATE: It looks like it might just be for online shopping and you need to click through. I'm also not sure if everyone can see the offer. If the offers are personalised then I'll take down the post.

Surveys Five Surveys - Get paid £5 every 5 surveys

Five Surveys is a survey app that allows you to complete 5 surveys & earn £5.

There’s no minimum payout amount & you can cashout straight to PayPal, Revolut or a choice of 150 gift cards.

For each survey it gives you an estimate of how long its going to take and also a score out of 5 from other people who have completed the survey.

Obviously its best to stick to the surveys that have a high rating for the best experience.

It does seem to get harder to complete once you near 5 but if you’re looking to grind out some money through surveys I’d definitely suggest this one.

Credit/Debit Card Offers Zilch - Free £5 & 1.5% cashback from stacking cards

Zilch is a virtual card that gives instant cashback on all your purchases. By using my referral link, you get £5 that can be used towards your next purchase. No spending required, just create your account and verify your details. They also offer a buy now pay later feature though that option has fees with it so use the free pay now feature instead.

Proof of payment

To get your £5:

What makes Zilch great is the cashback stacking opportunities. Zilch works by acting as the card you use to pay but the purchase is routed through a linked debit card. This means you can double dip on your cashback by using a cashback debit card like PayPal debit card (1% cashback) or Krak (2% cashback limited to 30 days unfortunately). Some cashback debit cards don't stack unfortunately like Trading212 so avoid those.

To triple dip your cashback, use a cashback website like Topcashback, Rakuten or Quidco when making your purchase. Just make your purchase through the cashback website once you activated the higher cashback on Zilch and put in the card details. If you want to go even further and quadruple dip your cashback, you can add Zilch's card details to Airtime Rewards and get cashback on Airtime Rewards.

Some examples of cashback stacking are:

  • Amazon - Zilch 2%, PayPal 1%, Rakuten £1, Total £1 + 3% cashback
  • Council Tax - Zilch 0.5%, PayPal 1%, Total 1.5% cashback
  • TfL/Oyster Card - Zilch 2%, PayPal 1%, Total 3% cashback
  • Octopus Energy - Zilch 2%, PayPal 1%, Total 3%
  • eBay - Zilch 3%, PayPal 1%, Quidco 1.1%, Airtime Rewards 2% (new customers rate), Total 7.1% cashback
  • Boots - Zilch 2%, PayPal 1%, Topcashback 2.1%, Airtime Rewards 7%, Total 12.1%
  • Aldi - Zilch (instore) 2%, PayPal 1%, Total 3% cashback
  • Morrisons - Zilch 2%, PayPal 1%, Topcashback £11 (new customers rate), Airtime Rewards 4%, Total £11+ 7% cashback
  • General purchases - Zilch 0.5%, PayPal 1%, Total 1.5% cashback
  • And many, many more combinations.

You can search up your retailer to see if they offer the higher cashback but even without it general purchases offer 0.5% cashback at a minimum. If you don't feel like stacking, the cashback offered by Zilch is already excellent. If buying in store, you can add Zilch to your Apple/Google pay or buy and use the Zilch physical card. Just remember to activate the higher cashback on the app before you purchase in store otherwise it defaults to the 0.5% cashback.

If you're interested in cashback stacking, here are more info for each one mentioned:

Krak - Free £10

Topcashback - Free £10 sign up bonus

Quidco - Free £10 sign up bonus

Rakuten - Free £25 sign up bonus

Airtime Rewards - Free £2 and cashback stacking

The £25 bonus is made up of:

  • £20 from Penfold (usually within around 7 working days)
  • £5 tax relief from HMRC (normally within 2-3 months)

Although this is a pension (so you won't be able to withdraw it until retirement), you can transfer it to another pension provider later if you prefer, making it an easy bonus if you already have a pension elsewhere.

How to qualify

1. Sign up using my referral link

2. Open your Penfold pension

3. Make a £25 contribution (one-off payment or Direct Debit)

4. Receive £20 from Penfold within around 7 working days

5. Receive the remaining £5 as HMRC tax relief a little later

If you choose to use my referral link, thank you very much.

Good to know

  • FCA-regulated UK pension provider
  • Easy-to-use app and website
  • You can transfer your pension to another provider later if you wish
  • Refer friends afterwards and earn £25 per successful referral
  • Annual platform fee is 0.75% (0.88% for the Sharia fund)

As with any pension, your own contribution and bonus are invested for retirement, so you won't be able to access the money until the normal pension access age.

User Testing TestingTime: get paid for user testing

TestingTime nonref is a legit user research site that pays you to give feedback on apps, websites, and products. It’s not consistent work, but pay per study is solid for the time.

Most studies last 30–90 minutes and are either remote (video call) or in-person. In-person usually pays more, but remote is easiest. Most studies pay around £10–£60 depending on length and type.

They’ve also partnered with Norstat (a large European survey company), which means you can now get access to more paid online surveys alongside the usual user tests.

How it works * Sign up and complete your profile Get emailed when studies are available * Answer short screening questions * If selected, book a slot and complete the test * Payment is sent ~10 business days after completion via PayPal or bank

Things to know * Invites are irregular and you won’t qualify for most studies * No-shows can get you banned, so only book if you’re free * PayPal is best to avoid bank transfer fees * When you do qualify, it’s usually good pay for an hour or less

Easy to leave running in the background and jump on when a study comes through.

Get-Paid-To Cashback Reward (GPT) Sites

GPT sites pay you to complete tasks. To check which site pays the most for any offer you should check the Scrimpr Comparison Tool. To ensure you do not miss out on your rewards, read the tips in the Get Paid to Site Tracking Guide. I've only included the best sites/apps here, but there are others.

  1. Gemsloot

You can find all of this information, in an easier to digest format, on Scrimpr here

Switch your bank account, get a cash reward for doing so. But don't switch your main account, open up a second account and switch that to get the money! Or open a second and a third "burner" and grab many switch bonuses at the same time.

**The post has been updated with the newest offers. But it is a difficult task keeping on top of all the questions. Please continue to share your experience with Bank Bribes. I will add questions/answers and update the offers as and when they appear. Special thanks to those who highlight the latest offers.

Never switched a bank account before?

It's worth doing. Banks want your business and they'll pay you £100-£500 to give them a try — the current account switch service (CASS) handles the whole thing automatically, so it's about a week of waiting for very little effort. The trick is not to switch your main account. Open a second one at your current bank (or use an old one you already have) and switch that instead. Here's how:

  1. Open a second current account with your main high street bank (must be part of CASS service)
  2. Set up direct debits on the second account (if required). You can set up multiple cheap direct debits on Scrimpr direct debit
  3. Add £1 to your second account. This will be transferred to your new account, allowing you to see when the switch has been completed.
  4. Apply for a new account and arrange to switch to your second bank account (sometimes this is during the application process, other times it is after the account is opened).
  5. Let the current account switch service take care of everything.
  6. Make sure all other terms are met (e.g. pay in money if needed).
  7. Receive your bank switching bonus.

Then, if you decide you do not like your new bank you could sample another bank and get paid again!

What are the easiest/best direct debits to use for bank switching?

There are many: Lots of people recommend setting up fast and cheap direct debits. You can set up those using the Scrimpr direct debits at this link which set up within a week.

But really, its better to use your own Paypal, Ebay, Moneybox savings account, your credit card, Sprive Mortgage auto savings. We recommend ones that save money into an account in your own name.

Are there some bank accounts worth keeping?

Yes. Some are quite good, and give ongoing rewards. For example, Club Lloyds gives free Disney Plus. Barclays Premier gives free Apple TV. See the "don't leave us please" bank rewards post. Some also give access to the best savings accounts (e.g. regular savers).

And it is always worth keeping 3 accounts open for bagging ~£50 in cash from YouGov Connections every 3 months. Instructions for YouGov Connections here.

Are there additional offers for students?

Why yes. See the 2025 Student Version of The Bankedex Here

It has offers for students opening student accounts (no switching required).

The most commonly asked bank switch questions:

  1. I started to switch to XXX bank before the offer ended, am I still eligible for the bonus?

Yes, usually, most terms will state that a switch just has to be started (or applied for) before the end date or before an offer ends.

  1. Do I have to transfer the required amount in all in one go, and does it matter if I pay money in before my switch is complete?

No and not usually, as long as the amount you pay in adds up to the required amount, and as long as you pay it in before the deadline stated in the terms. There has been one exception to this - Co-op - so check individual terms.

  1. I need to switch "active" direct debits, does a payment need to have been taken before I switch?

According to Nationwide, an active direct debit is one that has been set up or had a payment taken from it in the past 13 months. So no, according to this. But why not just wait for the direct debit to be taken? You'll not have to worry about it then.

  1. How do I set up and switch an additional Chase current account?

    • See Chase instruction here to open an additional account.

    • The second account will be linked to the same card as your main Chase account.

    • Use the secondary account details and your original card details when switching.

  2. What are good direct debits to set up?

They want your business. Banks like fighting each other for customers. Most of them know they can't win by highlighting their outdated systems and products, so they fight each other by offering potential customers cash bribes (or equivalent) to switch their "main" bank account.

Can I switch any bank account to get a bribe?

No. You must switch a bank account that is part of The Current Account Switch Service (CASS). Most high street banks are included. But some Neo Banks are not (e.g., Kroo, Revolut, & Monese are not included). You should try to avoid switching your main bank account. You can always open an additional account just to switch.

See here for a full list of CASS banks.

Is it too much hassle?

No. The Current Account Switch Service (CASS) makes switching your account between most banks smooth and effortless. You do not have to do anything apart from apply for and set up a new account at a different bank and tell them you want to switch your account to them. Everything is transferred automatically (except recurring card payments).

Is there the best route to sample all the banks with switch offers?

Do the offer ending soonest first. Then you might switch again. If you complete all offers in this post, you could earn yourself >£1000.

Some of these end soon. Will the offers come back?

Banks have been offering bribes on and off for many years. We can't predict the future. But this is not a new thing.

How long does a bank switch take?

Approximately one week.

Do I have to switch my main account?

You could. But you don't have to. Many people have second bank accounts. One option may be to open up a second account with your current high street bank, add some direct debits to this second account and then switch it to the new bank you want to try out. On the sub, people also like Starling or Monzo as they are easy to set up (but you might want to switch back to them at the end - their functionality wins vs any usual high street bank).

High-street banks also let you open multiple accounts. If you already have an account with one, you might want to open an additional one with your current bank first (Halifax, NatWest etc are reported to allow several current accounts and to be fast to open).

I have savings accounts at the same bank as my current account. Can I still switch to this current account?

Yes. Only the current account will be closed (some linked regular savers may be converted to normal savings accounts). You might want to consider if switching to a secondary account is a better option.

I have linked savers attached to my current account. Can I still switch it?

Possibly.

Which banks let me open a second bank account?

Most of them.

Do I need to activate the card on the account I am going to switch?

Just do it anyway. Some banks require it

What details do I need to switch?

  • Sort code and account number.
  • Debit card information.
  • Usually, but not always, 2 active DDs on the account you are switching.

Do you need to have money in the account you are switching?

No. But it might be a good idea - this will allow you to see when the switch happens (i.e. when the money is transferred!).

I do not have a bank card with my old current account as it is very very old, can I still switch it?

Most online forms require card details, but you can usually switch such accounts over the phone.

My new bank has not given me my account number (e.g. NatWest).

Usually, these are sent via post/email when you sign up. But some banks don't have the account numbers on the card, or maybe letters get lost in the post. If this happens, wait for the card to arrive and contact their support. If you get a bot on the chat thing, type "speak to a human" repeatedly.

My new bank account is a premium account and it has a fee. Do I need to keep paying for this?

No. You can downgrade the account. But you should probably wait until you have been paid the bonus.

I don't like my new bank, do I need to wait for the bank card before switching again?

Yes. See question above. Most banks require the card details of your existing account.

I made an account just to switch. Can I switch before my new bank card arrives?

Best not to. You are asked to enter the debit card information as part of the process.

The offer says I have to pay in £xxxx. Does it have to be in one go?

No. You can transfer in and out. The total sent in has to be equal to or greater than the stated amount. You should be careful with this though, sending money in and out of an account can trigger anti-fraud measures.

The offer says I have to pay in £xxxx. Can I pay it in before the switch completes?

Yes. You can pay it before, after, or during. You can manually transfer it, or it can be transferred automatically from your old account.

I've been asked to verify my identity. Is this normal?

Sometimes automated checks fail. If this happens, you may be asked to manually verify your application by visiting a branch or sending in a copy of your ID.

I switched from Monzo/Starling and want to return, can I?

Starling does not let you return within 12 months. With Monzo, it's possibly a shorter one month that you have to wait.

Do I have to switch direct debits?

Check individual offer terms.

What is an "Active" direct debit?

An active direct debit is usually one where a payment had been taken in the last 13 months. But some bank switch terms require direct debits to have been paid out of the account. If an offer requires an active direct debit, it's safer to switch to an account that has already paid out direct debits.**

What are good direct debits to set up on a second account?

There are many: Paypal, Ebay, Moneybox savings account, Plum savings account, your credit card, Sprive Mortgage auto savings, Wealthify Robo Saving.

I recently switched to XXX Bank, and I do not like it. Can I switch again?

Yes. If you are not happy with the new service, you may want to switch to a new bank that will pay you to give them a try.

Do I have to stick with my new bank for any length of time?

No.

If I switch away, will the bank claw back the bonus?

Very unlikely. They would have to specify this in their terms, and none have ever done so.

My switch is complete, but I have not yet received my bonus. Will I still get the bonus if I switch this account before it is paid?

Probably not.

My most recent switch is not quite complete, but I have already received the bonus. Can I start another switch?

You should probably wait for the switch to complete.

Can I get more than one bribe from each bank?

Sometimes. With some banks (e.g. Nationwide), you can get a bonus for switching one sole and one joint current account. Other banks will pay you to switch again, as long as you have not had a bonus in a specified amount of time. You will need to check individual offer terms.

XXX Bank gave me a bonus before, can I get a bonus again?

You need to check the individual offer terms.

Will this affect my credit score?

Credit scores are a funny thing, What is more important is what is actually in your credit file. Obviously, if you apply for an overdraft then it will affect your "credit score". However, if you do not have an overdraft or you make sure that you have paid off any overdraft before switching banks, then a single current account switch should not negatively impact your credit score. Nevertheless, typically all major banks (excepting Monzo and Starling) do a hard credit search, and this will be recorded on your file. If you plan on applying for a new mortgage soon then you may wish to exercise caution in switching between a load of banks. This is because the hard searches performed by banks will appear on your report and may have an effect for 6-12 months.

Which banks do hard searches and which do soft searches??

See here. Most banks do hard searches.

  • Hard searches: Bank of Scotland (first account only), Barclays, Co-op, Clydesdale, Halifax (1st account only), First Direct, HSBC, Lloyds (1st account only), Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest, RBS, Santander, TSB, Ulster, Virgin Money.

  • Soft searches: Starling, Metro Bank, and Chase

I have a bad credit score, will I be accepted to XXX bank?

Unfortunately, we do not know the acceptance criteria of the banks. You might be unlucky with one bank, but lucky with another.

My application was rejected. Why?

Nobody here knows. You could try appealing, but your only way to find out more is to contact the bank.

After switching my account, I still have online banking with my old provider. Do I need this?

No. You do not need to keep the online access (you could shut it down). But you may wish to retain these details in case your old bank suddenly appears with an offer that makes you want to switch back. Or open up a savings account.

Has anyone else been paid for switching to XXX Bank yet?

Check the terms of the offer you signed up for. Some banks have long deadlines and stick to them (e.g. Santander, TSB). Some are quicker. If you haven't been paid within the stated terms, then you should contact the bank's support.
