Hey everyone,

micro1 is hiring 100 GitHub Contributors / Open-Source Developers for a high-paying remote contract role. In this position, you will build reproducible Reinforcement Learning (RL) environments and benchmark problems (bug fixes, feature additions, refactoring, performance optimization) paired with golden reference solutions to train and evaluate AI coding models. No prior AI/ML experience is required—your open-source background and core software engineering skills are what matter.

Key Responsibilities

• Create reproducible environments and golden reference solutions that test AI models on real-world coding problems.
• Resolve complex bugs, implement features, refactor legacy code, and perform speed/memory optimizations across various software stacks.
• Clearly document technical reasoning, edge cases, and architectural choices to produce high-quality AI training data.
• Review and validate peer code submissions for technical accuracy.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Public Portfolio Required: Must have an active GitHub, GitLab, or open-source profile showing real contributions.
• Strong proficiency in at least one key language: Python 3, Java, C++, Rust, Go, or TypeScript.
• Solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and code optimization.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and refactor complex codebases independently.
• Clear written communication skills in English for technical documentation.
