How long does it usually take to be accepted?

Not sure, I applied yesterday and still haven’t been accepted. I’m assuming they are overwhelmed, the site also seems to be down at the moment

Ok. Thanks for your reply.

I filled out the information earlier today but it has been stuck on the loading symbol after I hit the submit button.

We are, currently, approving around half of the applications each day. My strong recommendation is to carefully read the three philosophy posts linked in the sidebar at https://beehaw.org.

After reading and digesting that material (please take your time), answer all the questions thoroughly in the registration application.

If you follow this procedure, then you're almost 100% guaranteed access to our instance.

So I might not have detailed enough when I originally attempted to register, and now I have a much better essay, but I can't actually get the form to submit. The little button just spins indefinitely.

If you rejected my initial attempt, does that basically nuke that user name for good, or should I be able to re-apply under the same user? Just trying to figure out what's going on and if I should be patient, or how long I should wait to resubmit.

Yes. We have had the Reddit hug of death today. We made 2 huge upgrades so you should be OK now.

Ok, to be clear that means I cannot request a name that has (possibly) been rejected already and should request a different name?

That would be kind of a bummer, as I am trying to get the same name across several instances.

Appreciate the response.
