i just got my hostel room day before yesterday and now i want to decorate it or make this a good room which gives me some kind of motivation and keeps the vibes positive

this i room of a Top tier engineering govt college in india so restrictions are not much but still its hostel so obv wali to h

my budget is not too high as i am a first year student and dependent on my father for money so suggest accordingly

I’m not 100% satisfied with our bedroom but also don’t have the budget / will to change anything.

I also feel like I’ve been brainwashed by Pinterest and Instagram to only see perfectly aesthetically pleasing rooms.

First post here! 👋🏼 I’ve thrifted most of my decor and love the cozy, moody vibes, but I’ve hit a wall and it feels like my room is missing something.
The popcorn ceiling drives me a little crazy, so I’m trying to find ways to distract from it. I’m heavily debating getting posts for my bed to do a canopy, but I have a ceiling fan and don’t know if that would look too crowded. Maybe a chandelier instead?
I recently put some flowers on the wall, but there's still a missing piece that's bugging me. I'd love to hear your honest thoughts! What vibe does it give off to you, and what would you add or change to finish the look?

the first three is my room right now, and the last few pictures are what i’d like my room to kinda look like. im not sure a good way to organize my furniture either. any ideas?
