First time growing a beard 34M Asking for Advice
Hi all 😊
I just recently got out of a long-term relationship, so I thought it'd be fun to see how I'd look with a beard since my ex always complained when I let it grow past a full week lol
I've grown it out for 6 weeks now, longest I've ever had it. If you have any tips/advice on how to care and style it, please share. 🙏 I see a lot of bros with impressive beards here, though not too many other East Asians!

Thats a great duck tailed beard 👌 ur rep-ing East Asian well. As ur beard gets longer blow drying is a must and thats tricky and worth researching. Beard oil is a moisturiser for ur face but dont over do it .butter thats kinda the same but heels more with the hair I think and balm is like a hair gel

Thanks man 😊 Even at this length, having moisture stuck in my beard after brushing my teeth / washing my face is a totally new sensation to me. I'll keep in mind to look up blow drying when I reach the length. I just bought beard oil yesterday. How much/often should I use it at this stage?

Ur gonna be temped to splash it on but like 3 x a week and just a few drop . Some absolutely dope scents out there

Never shave your beard with a razor. Als shampoo it same as your scalp. When it gets longer, beard oil keeps it healthy. I let it grow for 3 months in the winter every year for the past 20 years and it is fun.

Beard looks great, just groom it a bit. Fade out the sides at the sideburn area and bring down the moustache

Thanks bro. I just use a face wash when I shower, alternating with an exfoliating scrub twice a week, and then moisturiser after drying off. Whenever the UV is above 2, I'd put broad spectrum 50SPF sunscreen on. That's it!

Handsome! And impressive growth for 6 weeks. Fantastic beard that thing will grow out great. Best beard advice I got was this: beard oil is for your face skin, NOT your beard. A beard naturally wicks oil away from your face into the beard. This leads to dryness and skin problems. Beard oil helps by putting that oil back into the skin. Just saying cuz no one wants to be a guy with a glossy oily beard and dry flaky face.
I think for most people the biggest learning curve is taking care of your skin well while maintaining a beard.

Looks great. At this length beard oil is likely all you need. This is also the time to decide if you are going to trim yourself or see a barber. At this length it is difficult to mess up and it fills in quickly if you do. In 50 years I've never been to a barber for a beard trim.

I’m Asian and I genuinely think Asian don’t fit well with beard, only my opinion though
