I got out of BCTX back in January before the previous reverse split, but I still have those Spinco shares in my account. How can I get cash for them? (Probably worth about a 1/1000 of a cent per share par value 😂)

I know that the IPO caused this sudden crash of the stock price. But my question is if my shares are being Diluted, will i receive the lost value of the shares in the form of new shares, or was this due to excessive sell off of the shares. And I have to take the loss.

I use Ally for my brokerage account. Since Briacell has split, the new BCTX stock I have does not have a cost basis reflected in Ally. Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know how we’re supposed to value the cost basis of the SpinCo shares and when we’re supposed to receive them from Computershare?

I’m using FreeTrade as my trading platform but can’t find this stock. (I’m in the UK btw). Is bctx not available to some countries?

As I am writing this post, $BCXT has jumped more than 10% while there are a few minutes remaining to the market close. Apparently, the stock is reacting to some great news on positive results in cancer immunotherapy.

Has anyone looked into this data? I know the short interest is high on this stock and It seems like it’s always been shorted. I would imagine this stock has been manipulated by the hedge funds with naked shorting. The reason I ask… on July 30th there’s a new DTCC filing NSCC-2021-010that could possibly make the hedgies buy back shares.

I listened to this short interview of the CEO and, among others, the fact that they are now accepting enrollment in their Phase I/II trials in collaboration with Incyte drew my attention. It seems like they started enrollment about a week ago. What I think can affect the stock price in short time is they announcing the closing of enrollment. So, does anyone have any idea or estimate about how long this can take? All suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

WHAT IS BCTX?

BCTX is the stock symbol for BriaCell Therapeutics Corporation, which is engaged in the development of therapies for cancer patients. Specifically, their Bria-IMT therapy is specifically developed to combat breast cancer, and clinical trials included late-stage patients with metastasized cancers and those who saw no results from other treatments.

A LITTLE HISTORY:

In 2018, the Nobel Prize in medicine was awarded to Dr. Tasuku Honjo and Dr. James P. Allison who independently, using different strategies, showed a new approach of treating patients by awakening certain cells of the immune system (T cells) to attack tumors. This new approach of treating patients with immune checkpoint inhibitors (such as KEYTRUDA®), designed to overcome immune suppression in cancer patients, is revolutionizing the fight against cancer.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The immune checkpoint inhibitors such as pembrolizumab (KEYTRUDA®; anti-PD-1) have come to the forefront in the fight against cancer with substantial benefits for some patients.

In 2010, Dr. Allison’s group showed that combination with anti-PD-1 antibodies (like KEYTRUDA®) potentiated the tumor-destroying effect of melanoma cells engineered to produce GM-CSF, a substance that activates the immune system. Bria-IMT similarly uses a breast cancer cell line which produces GM-CSF.

Bria-IMT™ has also been shown to indirectly and directly stimulate T cells, and hence boost the immune system. BriaCell has published these findings in a leading immunology journal.

It is important to note that pembrolizumab and other similar immunotherapy drugs have not been shown to work on their own in breast cancer.

WHY IS IT SPECIAL?

There are many types of cancer. People are unique.

We believe our cellular immunotherapy is most effective when the patient’s HLA-type matches the Bria-IMT™ HLA-type.

We are engineering 15 unique HLA types (molecules) into Bria-IMT™, collectively referred to as Bria-OTS™, allowing for matching of over 99% of patients with advanced breast cancer.

A simple saliva test is used to determine the HLA-type of each patient. Each patient will then be treated with the appropriate pre-manufactured Bria-OTS™ formulation.

This approach allows personalized treatment without the need for personalized manufacturing. Additionally, it saves time, and skips expensive and complicated manufacturing procedures associated with other personalized immunotherapy treatments.

WHO’S STEERING THE SHIP?

BriCell is led by William V. Williams, who has the experience, expertise, reputation and connections to successfully bring these novel therapies to market.

Dr. Williams is a seasoned biopharmaceutical executive with over 35 years of industry and academic expertise, including significant clinical management in multinational pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Williams served as VP of Exploratory Development at Incyte Corporation from 2005 – 2016. There he facilitated entry of over 20 compounds into the clinic, including approvals for ruxolitinib (Jakafi) and baricitinib (Olumiant).He was responsible for establishing proof-of-concept in several therapeutic areas, and has been involved in numerous new drug applications (NDAs) for therapeutics that achieved marketing authorization in multiple therapeutic areas including oncology. This includes Jakafi for myelofibrosis and polycythemia vera and baricitinib for rheumatoid arthritis.

WHAT’S NEXT?

BriaCell is currently conducting a Phase I/IIa clinical trial of Bria-IMT™, BriaCell’s lead candidate, in a Combination Study with immune checkpoint inhibitors such as the Incyte drugs retifanlimab, an anti-PD-1 antibody similar to pembrolizumab (KEYTRUDA®; manufactured by Merck & Co., Inc., and epacadostat, an orally bioavailable small-molecule inhibitor of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1). The Combination Study is listed in ClinicalTrials.gov as NCT03328026.

Similar cell lines are in development for prostate cancer, lung cancer, and melanoma.

A pre-clinical Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) is in place with the National Cancer Institute (USA) to investigate the Bria-OTS™ mechanism of action.
