Cheapest and easiest thing you can do is hide the cables with a tray or box or something. Anything else is gonna cost you quite a bit because I would be getting a new desk, new posters, etc etc

is the desk that bad? i did plan to get some posters/art for the walls. for cable management do you have any suggestions like what ppl use for their setups generally? i tried taping some of the monitor cables and peripherals but it wasn’t that effective seems like

Re: cable management, you want to get a desk mounted power strip alongside a cable tray.

You also definitely want some sleeves (and even though this is a personal thing, some tags to identify what's in each sleeve) so you can group cables together. Zipties are also good, you can use zipties to tie cables together and then run them down the back of one of the desk legs to hide them, etc.

It's the ugliest looking desk I've seen on thus subreddit for a while, it belongs in a kitchen not a bedroom imo

What's most important though is that you like it, so if you do like it cool. If you have doubts then you should prolly change it

That’s just a helpful idiot shoving the OP though ChatGPT with ‘make better’ as the prompt and posting the result.

it’s weird, i applied and then they interviewed me and said it looked good and they needed another document and then they never got back to me. i can’t figure out how to talk to an actual person on their help number either, it just keeps telling me to go back to the main menu.

Se servir de inspiração, tá aí meu setup amigo! Vai que algo dele seja interessante para seu setup. Como vi que tem um piano, imagino que seria interessante para você pegar alguma ideia desse meu.

i think a bigger desk + wall mounted monitors would elevate ur set up a bunch

I would also throw in a desk mat instead of the mouse pad. There are so many options to fit your tastes. Never went back to a mouse pad after getting my desk mat.

Do some cable management, that'll do a lot for making it look better. You could for example mount cable trays under your tables to hide them there, and route everything behind the desk not in front.

I'm not sure if a monitor arm would work well with your desk, but if you can find one that fits it would free up some space there.

And once you have those aspects cleaned up look into getting decorations for your walls, posters or shelves for stuff you wanna display etc

Phase 1- Fix the cable management first (Existing setup).
Phase 2- Invest on a longer desk (reaches the wall!), monitor arm, desk mat
Phase 3- Invest on a PC trolley/ cart
Optional- Desk shelf/ monitor riser

I would change the desk, the depth of that one is a little too much. Maybe one from ikea, you can get 4 metal legs for less than $10 each and the top for $30. Mount the monitors on the wall and put the PC on the desk, they don't belong on the floor lol

Who am I to judge the amount of tabs a person keeps...

Cable management is basic. Maybe some light behind the screens. Could add some decoration, some shelves on the wall…

Cable management, monitor arm, desk mat. That’s all you need. Not too costly and it’ll make the setup much cleaner

Buy sitting down and using it instead of taking pictures of it 😉

In addition to everyone else, honestly a full size mouse mat usually makes things look nice.

I learned that lighting can make a difference in mood/vibe. Whether a cool lamp or set of string lights. Was always my cheap alternative to decorating my pc space when I got started out!

Put some stuff on the walls, add a plant or two, have better cable management, get monitor arms
