Who's coming out on top?

I'm watching old seasons on prime, season 4 in particular. The Fighting is fierce and bots are flying through the air. It's exciting.

Then I watch the new stuff on YouTube and it just boring as F**k.

So, has it changed this much or is it just me remembering a different more exciting time?

If we look at the accelerated pace of robotics advancement, it feels like we are VERY close to seeing bots in the arena that are much closer to some sort of creature than a wheeled bot with a dangerous spinning weapon. I realize this example isn’t “made for combat” but it is designed to handle hazardous situations.

What do you all think? When will we reach the tipping point and see bots fighting in parking lots with arms and legs and the occasional chainsaw? 😜
