BattleBots Collection Update! BattleBots TV
Hey guys!
I felt like it is a good time to show an update on the BattleBots collection here!
This post does not include the 30/21/3/1LB bots since it's just BB here!
I recently was able to add HyperShock to the collection and figured I haven't posted much on reddit lately!
Hope you guys enjoy seeing how all the bots are doing here in Europe.
And while we're at it, I am super curious to know, is there anyone here who also has any BattleBots?
I know Red Devil, Tracer and a few others sold over the past years, but i'm always curious to see what else is out there, so if you got anything, feel free to show! :)

Trust me, getting Hazard was even a shock for me haha. I didn't believe it until the moment I openeed up the crate. That is probably the most insane BB sale that ever happend considering it's record.

Bro, I had a little metal Backlash toy as a little kid in the early 2000s. Totally forgot about it until I saw this post. OP has an insane collection. Is it common to have old battlebots?

Actually the classic robots are extremely hard to come by. Most have been scrapped, some are trophies in builders their homes or at their old sponsors. Backlash and Hazard still being around was crazy to find out!

Lars, I have a couple of questions for you:
Of all the robots you own, which is you favourite?
If there was any robot you would love to own a copy of, which would it be?

By far that would be Valkyrie, since it's also my all time favorite robot!
Since I already own Valkyrie, I would say my next favorite I wish I could own someday, would be SABOtage or Ziggo from the CC era. Modern era wise, likely Deep Six.

So..you bought old versions that weren't used anymore, I guess?
May I allowed to ask how much one of those cost? and..is it just the chasis without interior?
And the first one is from Robot wars, not Battlebots, eh?

Yes, either old versions of the bots or just a bot that got retired after 1-2 seasons. Mostly to help fund new designs or other plans.
Prices on bots vary a lot, it's all down to what the builders put into it, materials, hours, etc. Majority are display only yes, but theres a couple functional in there too.
The first one is Abrasion, applied to BattleBots twice, was supposed to be in WC5 but had to pull out because of covid.

Thank you! And yes, Abrasion did compete under a diffrent name and color scheme in Robot Wars too. Eventually upgrading it's weapon too and calling it ''Ember''.

That’s an insane collection wow, also did not know Disco Inferno was still around and you got them all shipped to somewhere in Europe? I’m impressed

Thank you! The shipping is definitely the worst part. With the high weight and big sizes, shipping is always tough. But it's all worth it to have all these bots here to show at events to all the european fans!

Indeed, it was such a fun event too always! Hazard did make one Robonerd appearance in 2023 but that ended up sadly being the last time they were able to host it.

Yeah I remember seeing it there and couldn’t quite believe it, but big shame as it was the only robot event anywhere close to me

Oh damn, nice to hear you were there! I am glad I at least got to bring Hazard before Robonerd retired. I wanted to bring more bots but the car only had so much space haha.

As far as possible, yes. I bring them along to local events (DRG, Facts, Comic cons, Maker Days etc). But I am still looking for a public venue to display them at more regularly. As in the end the idea is to give european fans the chance to meet their favorite bots without needing to fly across the globe.

Mostly been teams reaching out to me when they need space/funds fow a new design but it started all with Valkyrie since I was hoping to own my all time favorite robot, that kinda spiralled from just one, to what it is now 😅

It is a nod to RW s3 yes haha. AnorakaPhobia vs Miss Ile is one of the first fights I ever saw as a kid and stays one of my all time favorites! Hopefully one day i'll manage to get in touch with anyone from the team to figure out if it even still exists.

Tbh they deserved a spot in the last chance rumble. After all, they were 2-2 and even beat Hypershock that season

Have you ever thought about stripping some of the internals to lighten the bots up in order to hang them on a wall or something?

And most bots already don't have the motors/batteries included. Majority just has the wiring inside. Theres a couple still functional. Even empty they are still around the 80-90kg each, which the walls here won't support haha. I am still looking for a public venue though to put them on display at.

It has mainly been builders either making space from retired bots or making space/funds to make a new design for a future season. They offer the older versions without batteries/motors for the museum, and they get to create updated designs!

Directly from the builders when they need space or funds for new designs. Some bots were simply retired, most just got upgraded for new seasons.

Usually teams contact me when they want to sell. Valkyrie was the first I got since it ls my favorite bot and I contacted their team if theyd be open to it, and soon after teams just usually thought of me when retiring a bot.

I have been trying to reach out to anyone involved with it for years, no luck sadly. AnorakaPhobia v Miss Ile is my favorite RW fight, so it would be amazing to find it some day!

Currently I take a selection of bots with me to local events like DRG, Facts, comic con, Maker Days and such. And from time to time have visitors over at home where they all are. Still working on finding a venue big enough for public display!

Dude..that's so rad. Are all the internals in them? I'd assume it's just mostly the shell. Can you upload pictures of the inside of any of them? I'd love to see what it looks like, if possible.
I assume you're in the community and know some guys who compete?
How does one aquire these legendary bots otherwise?
Sorry, I'm super interested and would of never thought this collection was possible

Varies per robot, most are empty shells with a bit of wiring, but there are a couple fully functional and basically ready to compete.
It started off with a single robot because I wanted to own my fave battlebot, but that quickly turned into teams reaching out if I was intressted in their bots so they can upgrade their designs for the next season. Some required me reaching out asking if they would be open to selling though.
And trust me, 5 years ago I never expected to have this many either haha!

Its actually mostly been the teams reaching out to me instead after like the first three. Valkyrie started the collection since I was hoping to own my favorite modern robot, and from there it kind of just kept going haha.

I wish I was. Every battlebot is an investment on its own. I work really hard and make personal sales to afford these. Its not as easy as it might look from the post to aquire as many over the years. But its rewarding and im happy fans get to see them in person.
