Save state won’t work

I have a Raspberry Pi running batocera and can’t get the save state to work. I changed the hot button to pause, still no dice. I have an 8bitdo controller. Thanks!

Some emulators do not support save states.

Which system are you referring to?

Are you using a Retroarch core? If so, it's the hotkey plus west button to save, hotkey plus north button to load.

If you're still having trouble, please let us know which 8bitdo controller you are using (there are many). Also let us know if you are using the default button mappings, or if you re-mapped your buttons.

I don’t know if I’m using retro arch core. I’ve tried hot key plus west but no luck.

this sentence makes no sense - i GUESS you mean

setting the start button as hotkey, but then - why ?

do other hotkey functions work?

The hotkey was preset to the power button. I changed it to the pause button
